“Ciel was an incredible sitter for my cat! She sent small updates and pictures each day, and I never worried about how my cat was doing. It made it so easy to travel for the holidays without him. Highly recommend her!!”

“Jenny did a great job caring for our pets while we were away for the day. She was very kind and responsive and sent real time updates during the visits. Two of our dogs are shy/fearful due to traumatic pasts and she was understanding and accommodating to them. We’re very appreciative.”

“Andrew did a wonderful job with our two labs! He took care of them like they were his own. Made our time away much less stressful. I highly recommend him and will definitely have him watch my pups again.”
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs my entire life! Growing up in a home with Springer Spaniels full of energy and love. Watching them grow from a puppy to adults is amazing! I have a broad range of caring for Toy Poodles to Weimaraner's and understand each dog has different physical abilities and needs(medications, feeding, bathroom assistance) I’m currently spending majority of my day at home in a career and education transition so my schedule is very flexible and accomplished for pet care requests. I am always respectful in others homes and their privacy. Keeping dogs leashed while on walks for safety. I wouldn’t put your animal in a situation I’m uncomfortable with.
About: I have had corgis, very pushy dogs, my entire life. I have had puppies and elder dogs and have taken care of them and walked them through it all. I work more in the afternoon and night as a an employee at Plato’s closet so my availability is more in the mornings! I am very flexible and don’t mind sleeping at hosts’ houses even if it’s a week day! I am always ready to play with the dogs or just cuddle with them! Whether that be playing or laying, I will keep the dogs comfortable no matter what.
“I contacted Montana for Drop in Visits for my two high energy dogs. She communicated clearly, was wonderful with the pups, got them fed, walked and spent time playing with them. I got great photos and updates throughout the visit. I highly recommend her!”

“I’m so happy I found Adriana in time for our trip! She did an amazing job with my big pup. She spent plenty of time on visits, took great pictures, and even brought extra toys for fetch. She also made sure all meds were taken. I would definitely hire her again.”

About: Hi, I’m Deanna! I’m a Certified Veterinary Assistant with 20 years of experience caring for animals of all species, including several years working hands-on with dogs and cats in veterinary clinics and boarding facilities. I’m currently a stay-at-home mom, and I’m excited to have my stepdaughter, Anya, join me in caring for our Rover pets. She absolutely loves animals and is looking to earn some extra money while doing something she genuinely enjoys. She’ll be the primary person providing walks, drop-ins, and pet care, with me available as an experienced helping hand whenever needed. Between my veterinary background and her love for animals, we make a great team! I’ve worked directly with veterinarians as a veterinary technician, including taking vitals, administering medications and vaccines, assisting with procedures, and caring for pets before and after surgery. I also have extensive experience recognizing when a pet may need extra attention or when something just doesn’t seem quite right. Before moving to Pennsylvania, I cared for numerous Rover clients for more than three years while living in Tucson, Arizona. We moved to Pennsylvania in May 2020 for my husband’s work, and after taking some time away from Rover, we’re excited to welcome new furry friends into our lives again! We have two dogs and 3 cats of our own, so your pet will be joining a home that is very much used to having animals around. We have plenty of pet-friendly toys, beds, and space to relax, and we love spending time outside when the weather is nice. Most importantly, we treat every pet like they’re part of the family. Whether your pup needs a walk, playtime, cuddles, medication, or simply some company while you’re away, we want them to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. We’d be honored to care for your pets and give you peace of mind while you’re away! 🐾❤️ I currently am a stay-at-home mom so my schedule is extremely flexible with the exception of student drop-off and pick-up times (7:00-8:10am and 2:50-4:05pm). This gives me the rest of the time/day to care for your pet. During daycare and/or boarding, I have plenty of pet toys and beds throughout the house. For additional safety, I use baby gates whenever they are left unattended from my own pets just as a safety precaution. All playtime is always supervised.
About: I cat sit for my neighbor for long periods of time when she goes away. I’ve been an animal owner since the age of 3. Currently I’m in school for nursing but don’t have classes Monday and Wednesday as well as the weekend. Those days I’m hoping to spend time with pets. Caring for pets in my home I will have them on a leash if outside just in case they like to run away. At a clients home I’ll follow the directions to ensure perfect pet care.
“Lisa was great with our puppies for a few drop-in visits while we were out of town for the day. She kept in contact when she was at our house and provided updates with how the puppies were doing along with some pictures. We got back late, so she even checked the next morning to make sure they were okay when we got home which I really appreciated. I would highly recommend Lisa for all of your dog sitting needs! Thank you so much, Lisa!!”

About: I have vast experience working with many different animals, and one of my greatest strengths is helping make the animals I work with feel comfortable. I am certain that I could do the same with your animals too! Specifically, the animals that I work with range from box turtles, cats, small dogs, and large dogs. I am currently a student at Capital University, but I am willing to squeeze in time on my breaks and during the summer to walk and/or take care of your fur babies for whenever you need!! I have a very flexible schedule and would be willing to work with you in order to meet your pet's needs! My services include house sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits. You give me a time and place and I'll be there for your fur baby!
About: I am new at taking care of your fur babies but I have 10 years at loving, caring and spoiling my own fur baby! Your fur babies will have 100% of my attention! Morning, afternoon, evening or overnight any day of the week. I am retired and am looking to spoil and love your pet like my own. I would love to take care of your fur baby in your home! I am available whether you are looking for someone to walk your dog, just let your pet out during the day while you work or stay in your home.
“Alicia was absolutely amazing. We had her stop at our house a few times a day while we were on a trip to feed, play with and toilet our cats and dogs. She followed our directions to a tee, properly secured our house and loved our fur babies so hard. She was prompt on timing and thorough on care and documentation. Our fur babies can't wait for us to go away again!”

Teresa provided great care, lots of pictures, and terrific updates at every visit. My cats usually don't warm up to new people for a while, but she obviously won them over almost immediately. I appreciate her kind care of my kitty crew. I would rebook in a heartbeat next time I need a cat sitter

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
