Sara was absolutely amazing! One of our dogs can be a little nervous meeting new people, and Sara was so patient. She came in, sat down, and let Heidi get comfortable at her own pace. She even brought her own treats, which the dogs loved. While we were away, she checked in regularly with photos and videos, and we really appreciated that. And when we got home, I swear the house was even cleaner than when we left it. Truly a 10/10 experience. Sara was fantastic!

Adrienne was absolutely wonderful with Quincy! She was incredibly attentive during her overnight stay. As a Type A dog parent, I provided a very thorough Quincy care document with everything she needed to know about Quincy and our home. Adrienne did a fantastic job taking notes, asking thoughtful and detailed questions, and making sure Quincy was happy, comfortable, and well cared for throughout her stay. She was also very respectful of our home and took great care of everything while she was here. Although this stay was only one night, I couldn’t be more grateful to have found someone we feel comfortable trusting with Quincy. We’re already looking forward to her upcoming stays!

About: I've raised 2 daughters to adulthood and 7 cats over the years. I've dog sat for neighbors and answered local ads for sitting/walks. I have experience giving cats medicine and cleaning up messes.I love animals! I'm currently a stay home Mom looking for a flexible income while getting excerise and being my own boss. I use to own a business so I'm organized, responsible and dependable. I currently have 2 cats who I feed daily, one gets medicine mixed into her dinner wet food and she's on a diet. My other cat is free fed dry food all day because she has a fast metabolism and is a perfect weight, plus she gets wet food for dinner. Their litter boxes get cleaned every other day. So, I'm use to special feeding needs of fur babies.

About: I’ve spent my entire life around animals! From growing up in a house full of all kinds of animals and currently being a proud dog mom of 3 and snake mom of 1, to pet sitting through my teen years, to volunteering at a special needs dog sanctuary for 3 years.. there is nothing I feel more comfortable doing than hanging out with and caring for furry, scaly, or feathered friends! I am available for care all hours of the day or night weekdays and weekends! I’m happy to do late night or early mornings 😊 I want more than anything to provide everyone that trusts me with their furry babies peace of mind knowing that with me, they are genuinely safe and will always be treated like they are my very own. To say I’m a helicopter dog mom is an understatement, and I understand more than anyone the fear of unknowns when leaving your pets with a new person and I hope I can alleviate that stress from both you and your pets. From the bottom of my heart, you can trust that when your pets are with me they are in a safe space and being treated with love, care, and consideration!

About: Hello there, I have been an animal lover my whole life. I have had my own dogs for the last 15 years, and love taking care of and interacting with all animals. I have experience with training dogs to leash walk, taking them outside to the dog park, taking them to the beach for a swim, and playing fetch with a slobbery tennis ball. LOL I also have plenty of experience loving on cats (ones that are ok with cuddles, that is!), and playing chase the wand. I have pet sat mice, hamsters, bunnies, guinea pigs, and even a chameleon and a bearded dragon! I love small, large, and in between size animals and there are no breeds that I refuse to work with or for. Allow me to play, walk, and take care of your animals as if they were my own. I will send text updates and pictures to help ease your mind. I assure you, we will be best friends in no time! Please note that while pet sitting at your home, I will likely have my 12 year old child with me. I will never leave my child alone in your home, I will always take them with me if I need to run an errand. I have an open schedule and plenty of time to take care of whatever is needed. Morning, afternoon, and night walks or visits are no problem! I will come into your home to care for your animals so that they will be most comfortable. I will feed, walk, play, and clean up after your animals as if they were my own and it was my home.

She kept him on his schedule and was clearly experienced with puppies. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such great hands- will definitely be using Ava again!

Hannah is a rockstar! I was so fortunate to be able to secure her for this past weekend as my other dog sitter had to cancel 48 hours before our trip due to a death in the family. I reached out to Hannah and she was so quick and responsive to my request. She came over that afternoon for a meet and greet with Oscar and to tour our home. She was professional and courteous, and I booked her that evening! We retuned to a VERY happy pup - and our house was in perfect order. Hannah was responsive during our time away and provided numerous updates. I highly recommend!!

About: I have over 20 years of personal pet experience as well as about 3 years of professional volunteering experience with the human society and other organizations . I myself have a wonderful Bernedoodle who is full of energy and always knows how to have fun. From giving medication, to grooming, exercise and playing, I have the experience needed to be your pets best friend! I enjoy the outdoors and taking my dog Mickey on hikes and long walks through the local parks so he can enjoy all the smells and stretch his legs. If given the chance to spend quality time with your pets, I will personally make sure your pet is happy and loved while in my care. I can't wait to meet you and look forward to being your pets best friend when you're away! Recently moved to the area, working from my home and phone. This gives me the availability to spend more time with your dog as well as my own. I always make sure all doors are closed and everything is left the way it was before I arrived. I keep my dogs on their leash before and after leaving and arriving back from a walk to keep them safe.

Tess is genuine, reliable, considerate and a sweet and caring person. Six stars out of five!!

Rochelle was absolutely amazing with my pets! She cared for my dog Blu and my cat Sam like they were her own. From the moment she arrived, she kept in constant contact, sending me regular updates, adorable photos, and sweet videos that showed just how happy and relaxed they were. Blu looked so content on his walks, and Sam—who can be a bit particular—was clearly at ease. Rochelle’s attention to detail, warmth, and reliability gave me complete peace of mind. I came home to two very happy fur babies. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who truly goes above and beyond.

Heidi was fantastic with Quincy! It's so refreshing to work with someone who is not only organized but also makes sure everything is clearly laid out, ensuring everyone is on the same page. She asked great questions to understand Quincy’s needs and gave him all the care and attention he deserved. Heidi provided the perfect amount of updates and even went the extra mile to give Quincy additional stimulation by taking him to one of his favorite walking spots. She truly goes out of her way to understand the dogs she cares for and makes sure their owners feel at ease. It’s been a pleasure working with her!

Amanda seemed equally comfortable with us as with our dog, Rosie, who adored her. She was friendly and open, flexible and appeared highly responsible. She also kept us apprised while watching our girl. We'd be very happy to have her take care of Rosie again--and she'll actually be back again later this month.

James has been watching my dogs for years now (maybe 8-9 years), and he is absolutely phenomenal. It means so much to have a dog sitter you can truly trust, not only with your beloved pets, but also in your home. He takes wonderful care of both my dogs, one of whom is elderly, needs medication and extra attention, and requires very careful handling around other dogs and people due to reactivity. James manages their needs with so much patience, understanding, and grace. He is just amazing. I highly, highly recommend James. He’s the best!

FAQs for House Sitting - Linganore-Bartonsville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Linganore-Bartonsville on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 3,818 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Linganore-Bartonsville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Linganore-Bartonsville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Linganore-Bartonsville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Linganore-Bartonsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Linganore-Bartonsville. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
