Sara was absolutely incredible to work with! One of our dogs got into some raisins the day before we left town, and was in the Pet ER. With some help from family, when our dog got home, Sara was incredibly competent with handling a variety of meds, foods, timing of things, and showed an exceptional awareness of the needs for both dogs. She communicated often and was very thorough. We are so thankful that Sara was there!

About: What sets me apart is the genuine compassionate care I bring to ensuring your pet feels completely safe, loved, and understood while you are away. I focus on creating a gentle, stress-free environment tailored entirely to your furry friends’ comforting daily routines. Beyond dogs and cats, I have specialized experience with the delicate needs of small animals like rabbits, and would be more than happy to care for pets of any size! I am a recent GW grad and I have a very flexible schedule. Aside from doing occasional tutoring sessions throughout the week, I am home for the majority of the day and have the time to dedicate myself to taking care of your furry friend! When caring for pets in their own space, my primary goal is to maintain their established routine exactly as they know it to minimize anxiety. When a pet stays with me, they are welcomed into a structured, highly supervised, and pet-safe environment designed to feel like a second home. I love all animals and want to make them feel safe in any environment!

About: Hello, I’m so excited to become a dog sitter & walker on rover! I have always been a huge dog fan. I have had a small yorkie ever sense I was young. My sister has a big dog who I also enjoy being around! I am currently college student training to become a nurse! I’m looking for a seasonal job for over the summer! I love being active so taking care of dogs would be perfect! I am correctly working a part time job as a hostess at a restaurant but I’d love to do rover on my days off! I will treat pets like my family. I love making pets happy and feel loved. I will adhere to all costumer requests! I will make sure the dog is happy and well taken care of!

About: I’ve spent my entire life around animals! From growing up in a house full of all kinds of animals and currently being a proud dog mom of 3 and snake mom of 1, to pet sitting through my teen years, to volunteering at a special needs dog sanctuary for 3 years.. there is nothing I feel more comfortable doing than hanging out with and caring for furry, scaly, or feathered friends! I am available for care all hours of the day or night weekdays and weekends! I’m happy to do late night or early mornings 😊 I want more than anything to provide everyone that trusts me with their furry babies peace of mind knowing that with me, they are genuinely safe and will always be treated like they are my very own. To say I’m a helicopter dog mom is an understatement, and I understand more than anyone the fear of unknowns when leaving your pets with a new person and I hope I can alleviate that stress from both you and your pets. From the bottom of my heart, you can trust that when your pets are with me they are in a safe space and being treated with love, care, and consideration!

About: Hello there, I have been an animal lover my whole life. I have had my own dogs for the last 15 years, and love taking care of and interacting with all animals. I have experience with training dogs to leash walk, taking them outside to the dog park, taking them to the beach for a swim, and playing fetch with a slobbery tennis ball. LOL I also have plenty of experience loving on cats (ones that are ok with cuddles, that is!), and playing chase the wand. I have pet sat mice, hamsters, bunnies, guinea pigs, and even a chameleon and a bearded dragon! I love small, large, and in between size animals and there are no breeds that I refuse to work with or for. Allow me to play, walk, and take care of your animals as if they were my own. I will send text updates and pictures to help ease your mind. I assure you, we will be best friends in no time! Please note that while pet sitting at your home, I will likely have my 12 year old child with me. I will never leave my child alone in your home, I will always take them with me if I need to run an errand. I have an open schedule and plenty of time to take care of whatever is needed. Morning, afternoon, and night walks or visits are no problem! I will come into your home to care for your animals so that they will be most comfortable. I will feed, walk, play, and clean up after your animals as if they were my own and it was my home.

Sherri is an excellent dog sitter and house sitter. She exceeded our expectations., Sherri kept us informed throughout her stay, providing photos and videos of our darling dog (Willow). It was quite apparent that Willow became most comfortable with Sherri very quickly. We loved getting those photos and video showing Willow at her best. Sherri volunteered to take care of things around our house including watering plants inside and out and even cleaning up some large branches that feel down from a tree during a storm. She did a great job of communicating, asking questions when appropriate and informing us of actions she took that she thought we needed to know about. As for Willow, I understand that Sherri took her on some interesting extended walks that I am sure Willow enjoyed very much. We highly recommend Sherri with no hesitation to take care of your dog(s). You can be assured that she will watch over your home as well.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life since I was under 10. My first dog was a 100 pound lab. We’ve always had multiple dogs in the house and I’ve always fed, walked and taken good care of them! Like they are my kids! Please leave me a review after I’ve taken care of your pups to ensure others get great service too! I work from home. I am free to help take care of your pets when you can’t! We have a fenced in back yard and have 2 3 year old rescues that are brother and sister. They are Chihuahua pitbull mixes if you can imagine that. I work from home and can walk or care for your dogs around my work schedule and my daughters life! I love them and treat them as if they are my own! I treat others dogs like they are my own. Make sure they get exercise if that’s what is needed, play time, potty breaks, food and water breaks and lots of love and pets!

WOW!! We can't be any happier with Isabel and the comfort we had going out of town for a week and our two dogs (and house) under her care. She was so professional from start to finish. Our dogs fell in love with her at first sight. She was exceptionaly prompt with communication --and pictures:) !! This is such a better option than the kennel. Isabel is so trustworthy and can't wait to go out of town again knowing our home and dogs are in great hands!!! Thanks Isabel, YOU ROCK!!

Hannah is a rockstar! I was so fortunate to be able to secure her for this past weekend as my other dog sitter had to cancel 48 hours before our trip due to a death in the family. I reached out to Hannah and she was so quick and responsive to my request. She came over that afternoon for a meet and greet with Oscar and to tour our home. She was professional and courteous, and I booked her that evening! We retuned to a VERY happy pup - and our house was in perfect order. Hannah was responsive during our time away and provided numerous updates. I highly recommend!!

James has been watching my dogs for years now (maybe 8-9 years), and he is absolutely phenomenal. It means so much to have a dog sitter you can truly trust, not only with your beloved pets, but also in your home. He takes wonderful care of both my dogs, one of whom is elderly, needs medication and extra attention, and requires very careful handling around other dogs and people due to reactivity. James manages their needs with so much patience, understanding, and grace. He is just amazing. I highly, highly recommend James. He’s the best!

We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Katie! Our dog Guinness absolutely adored her, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in caring hands while we were away. Katie sent regular updates and photos, which made us feel reassured the whole time. She went above and beyond— bringing in our mail and recycling. It's clear that Katie treats the pets she sits for as if they were her own. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her and will absolutely be booking with her again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Aspen

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 3,864 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Aspen. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Aspen walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Aspen maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aspen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Aspen. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
