About: My passion for animal care began at age 8 and spans over 13 years of hands-on experience from personal pets as well as from my career. Currently, I work as a veterinary assistant at a general practice clinic, where I assist with routine examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatment protocols while providing compassionate care to animals and educating pet owners. I am currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technology Program at Delaware Technical Community College, pursuing comprehensive training in animal health, medical procedures, and veterinary science. Pet care is a priority in my daily routine, and I maintain flexible availability to accommodate your pet’s needs. I’m completely free on weekends and available most weekdays after 6pm. As a veterinary assistant, I understand the importance of consistent care and reliable scheduling. Whether your pet needs daily walks, overnight stays, or weekend adventures, I can adapt my schedule to ensure they receive the attention and care they deserve. My veterinary background also means I’m comfortable with any special care requirements or medication schedules your pet may have I provide pet care exclusively in clients’ homes, keeping your pets comfortable in their familiar environment while maintaining their established routines. As a veterinary assistant, I’m trained to recognize health concerns and can handle everything from basic daily care to administering medications or special needs. I follow all specific instructions regarding feeding, exercise, and house rules while ensuring doors and gates stay secure. You’ll receive regular updates with photos about your pet’s activities. I treat your home with complete respect, leaving everything clean and secure. With 13+ years of pet care experience and professional veterinary training, I’m committed to giving you peace of mind while you’re away.
“We absolutely love Liz! She’s been so patient and gentle with our little Kenny & Seth, which means the world to us. Kenny can be a bit shy, but Liz takes her time and always makes sure he feels safe and cared for. We also really appreciate the detailed notes and adorable pictures she sends — they give us so much peace of mind while we’re away. It’s clear she truly cares, and we’re so grateful to have found her!”

About: My schedule can be flexible so please let me know what you need and I'll be sure to let you know if we can make it work! I have owned a couple dogs in the past and dog sit for my family and friends all the time. We currently have two cats that are dog friendly, or tolerant. We’d love to host your fur babies with us for a long weekend to let you get away. I work full-time Mon-Fri so would mostly be available for weekend boarding, Fri-Sun. I am available for drop in visits or walks during the week after 5pm. We have a fully fenced in yard with tons of shade and multiple rooms and spaces to separate animals as needed. Dogs are TOTALLY allowed on furniture and we have healthy treats as their diets allowed. Big neighborhood for walks (with sidewalks) and the pavement is always tested on my own skin before their precious paws. I have lick mats and kongs for mental stimulation and love to fill them with protein and veggies.

About: I’ve had animals all my life. From dogs to cats to exotics. My pathway in school was for animal science which I have my certification from that class. I also have worked at a vet before so I would say I definitely have some experience! Right now I mostly work from home so I’m pretty flexible. Whether that be for boarding or potty breaks I can pretty much make anything work. I have a section of my yard fenced off so they can just go out and potty but also love to take them for walks in my neighborhood! If they get along with other dogs great! If not I can manage to keep everyone separate if boarding is preferred at my house.

About: I am a dog trainer and have my CPDT-KA certification, this means i’ll always provide your pup with the best and kindest care! Your pups day will be full of fun and activities to keep them happy while you relax. I am able to work on a schedule if requested and will follow every care request you provide. I do not mind shedding breeds, large or small. I look forward to meeting both you and your lovable pets! I am able to provide routine and one-off pet care thanks to my open schedule from running my own training business. I’m regularly available on holidays and weekends. I am a law student so I am unavailable Mon-Thurs 8am to 6pm. I have 1 friendly and playful pup that can be your dogs playmates or can safely be kept in separate. I have a large trail close by so walks will always be interesting!

“Another great visit by Mike with Roscoe! He really understands how to work and play with Roscoe who can be a bit picky. Roscoe is always happy and relaxed when I get home.”

About: Need a reliable, schedule-oriented sitter who treats your pets like family? I’m here to help! I am a Veterinary Science and Medicine student with a deep passion for animal care. My experience includes 6 years of professional dog sitting, 7 years of cat sitting, and countless years of fostering rescue animals and volunteering at local shelters. Because I am highly organized and detail-oriented, I strictly follow your pet's feeding, walking, and medication schedules. I look forward to giving your pets all the love and undivided attention they need while you're away! I currently work full time but am openly flexible to work Fridays through Mondays and the days in between can be worked out as I have amazing hours and a great support network! Quiet neighborhood with nearby trails and plenty to explore! Lovely environment and plenty of love to spread around from fur and human friends alike, I can assure you your fur baby or babies will be right at home while you’re away.

About: I’ve had dogs since I was a baby. When I got to middle school my friend asked to watch her dogs while her family was out of town and I agreed. While Covid was still around I would do virtual school and take care of our dogs while my parents worked. I am hoping to do this part time while I am home from college (Between Middle of May and Early August). I am available any time during the day. I can feed the dogs or medicine if needed, fill the water bowls, take them outside (a fenced yard is preferred please or trained), I am willing to walk dogs to get any energy out.
“Amarichi was a lifesaver! We needed drop-in visits, walking, and feeding for our two pups.(One senior, perpetual toddler, 14-year-old Cockapoo, and a 4-year-old Boxer mix. Amarichi arrived on time, she sent updates with photos; she was very helpful with problem solving; and she provided solutions for unexpected situations (our Cockapoo wouldn’t let our other furbaby eat or drink in peace.) Amarichi is a true gem, we’ll definitely rebook her services again. I absolutely recommend Amarichi, without question.”

About: I've taken care of children and pets for about 7 years now. I have my own pets, a dog and a cat. Shepard mix named Milo, and a cat named Judah. I look forward to all the pets! I'm currently working four days a week and have plenty of time to spend loving and caring for your precious babies! I really love it! In my clients home, I follow detailed, and not so detailed instructions well. I have a natural instinct for what is needed and what is not needed. I like to follow the desires of the owner.
About: I grew up on a farm in Maryland and were around animals daily! My business is financially affordable and will give you peace of mind that your pet or pets will be taken care of when you are not at home. I’am not working anywhere else at this time and have the time to love and care for customer’s pets. I will follow all my customers instructions to ensure their pets safety and general well being. Sorry I don’t watch pets in my home. I feel your pets are more comfortable in their own homes. Pets feel more relaxed in their own environment.
“Zelle was tremendous! When we first met she put me at ease right away, so friendly and asking such good questions. She really wanted to understand our dogs differing needs. During our absence, she checked in at our agreed upon times and sent lovely pictures at each check-in. It was such a comfort to know my fur babies were cared for so lovingly. Will not hesitate to call on her again.”

“Jen is absolutely the BEST petsitter you will ever experience. My cat is very high maintenance with her attitude and her massive hair (forest cat). Upon my arrival home kitty was calm, very content , and had an extensive grooming! My home was exceptionally clean with the removal of litter and cat food cans. Jen met me before the sitting dates and she was extremely knowledgeable . She has tons of common sense--- You will not need to give her pages of instruction. She GETS IT ! In addition, my plants were watered during this 94 degree weather , mail was placed neatly inside, and trash cans were taken to the curb . Photos are sent to you at each visit. Love Jen to take care of my cat.”

“Love the photos! This was our first time using anyone for a pop in visit. This was totally last minute! Asked Paul and his fiance last night at 7pm to please help us, and without hesitation they came right over and met our boys. They did a pop in visit today and they were wonderful!!! Will definitely use them again :) They were great!!!! Thank you both so much !”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
