“Jessica is great! My old dog is a bit needy and she was so sweet, meeting him where he’s at and not complaining about giving him extra attention. My kids and I all loved that she sent daily updates with photos. We will definitely check in with Jessica next time we need a sitter!”

“Great guy and my dog loved him. As soon as I walked into his home, I knew my dog Loki would love it. I was nervous about him having another dog, but he was very professional and made us feel comfortable knowing that he had everything under control. I will most definitely be bringing my dog back to him when we need a sitter for Loki.”

“Honestly if I could rate her 10 stars I would. Avery is incredible. Not only did I receive photos and texts everyday, Dodo was so happy when I picked her up! I have never had to leave her with anyone else who wasn’t a family member and was so nervous to try rover. But after meeting Avery I felt so comfortable leaving Dodo with her and will 1000% use her every time now for dog sitting while we are gone.. we love her so much. If you are hesitant at all- don’t be. The reviews are accurate and 100% honest. We couldn’t have picked a better family to care for our dog. Thanks so much for everything Avery!”

“This was our dog’s first stay with Paige and her family. I could tell from the daily pictures and updates that he had a wonderful time. I was able to relax and enjoy my trip without guilt or worry knowing he was having so much fun. Having the children to play with was really great! A lovely family, and I can’t thank them enough!”

“Our pups had a wonderful time and we got lots of pictures and updates during their stay! Mike was really communicative and the dogs were happy and tired when we picked them up. Would happily have them bunk up here again.”

“First time using rover. I hit the jackpot with Jenny. She went above and beyond to make sure my anxiety dog was taken care of. She sent me updates and took him on daily walks. Genny is so sweet and kind and cares for dogs like her own.”

“Rebecca took great care of my dogs! Her home was beautiful and perfect for my two fur babies! I felt so at ease with Rebecca’s communication about the dogs. She sent lots of pictures of them having a great time and perfectly happy. I would recommend her to anyone seeking a great environment and experience for your dogs! Will book again!!!”

“Fantastic, trustworthy pet sitter. I was nervous to leave my fur baby and Jane did a wonderful job making me feel comfortable and keeping me updated while I was away.”

“Jill was amazing with my dogs. She was able to help with only hours notice, and far exceeded our expectations. She provided daily updates, and made the separation easier for us as we moved into our new home. I completely recommend her and will use her again any time I need to leave town.”

“Ainura was absolutely amazing! I had to find a sitter for my new puppy on very short notice and she responded super fast and accepted the job. It was my first time using the Rover app and I’m so grateful it worked out so well. She took incredible care of little Khaleesi and sent loads of photos showing her playing and having a great time for the week. I’m definitely reaching out to Ainura next time I need a sitter :)”

“Highly highly recommend Kristen to anyone!! Kristen was absolutely incredible to work with! She gave us daily updates of Luna and made sure to keep us at ease. She was prompt when responding and available throughout the weekend.”

“Once again we have struck GOLD! Abbie has a GREAT home environment. My Keazer and Sözé were well taken care of. They enjoyed the ability to be outside and great lengths. We were able to extend when pick up needed to be delayed. We are looking forward to having them return for the next time.”

“Susan we great with our oddball fogs, Baxter and Wiley. Both dogs have anxiety issues and Susan was great to make them as comfortable as can be. She had 2 other dogs that she was sitting at the time and Baxter loved running the yard with them both. Wiley seemed to like the recliners in her “dog pad” in the basement. Without a doubt, we will call on Susan again!”

“I was very pleased with Roxie’s stay! Stephanie and her family were awesome. They were very considerate and made me feel at ease leaving Roxie in their care. We received lots of communication and photos during our trip. Roxie seemed to have a great time and enjoyed the attention she was given. I would highly recommend Stephanie and hope Roxie can stay again next year when we go on vacation!”

“G enjoyed his 10 days with Khala and became fast friends with her fur babies. This is the 2nd long stay he’s had with her and she always keeps me updated on his behavior with pictures. He came home in great spirits with all his toys and accessories, and we will certainly look forward to rebooking in the future! Thanks Khala for taking loving care of G!”

I have worked with very skittish dogs on multiple occasions. I will take “aggressive” dogs as a case by case. I have been taking care of animals for most of my life. It started by cleaning litter boxes and giving cats water to taking care of 43 animals by myself. I volunteered at different animal shelters in the different places I have lived at. My husband use to be a K9 handler in the Air force, So I learned training Techniques from him and trained my Golden Retriever with the things I have learned. I am a stay at home mom. We have Our normal Appointments that I am not available for but while they are in school I am Home most days. I have a fenced yard and plenty of room for them to play. We love to just sit around and hang out with our animals, so we would Treat your pets just like ours.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Laurel home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Laurel.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Laurel sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
