“Katie was great! She sent pictures and hung out with my cat while I was gone. I feel like she went above and beyond and even took care of things that I didn’t ask, which I really appreciate! I came home to a clean kitty food area and clean litter! And a happy cat!”
“Sam is a godsend. Our old man cranky cat loves her and she is always so willing to work with our last minute plans. Family is full of chronic ‘oh by the way!’ Folks and so we don’t get a lot of heads up. She is always fantastic.”

“As usual, Kelsey was amazing! We had to change up the routine this time and she was super flexible. My cat LOVES Kelsey, which makes it easier to leave him while we travel.”

“Carter did an AMAZING job watching Tocko on our mini vacation! He truly went above and beyond making sure we had peace of mind that our boy was well taken care of. He always sent pictures and made sure to include little details when writing us that made my wife the happiest! He should have more 5 star reviews and we will be more than happy to book with him again in the future!”

About: I am a Biological Science major currently looking for work! I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was child including bigger and smaller breeds of dogs, and a variety in ages/temperament of cats. I also have a good amount of knowledge in caring for fish, reptiles, rodents, and birds. (Not an expert, just well read!) I have also been employed previously as a Senior Caregiver under Senior Helpers Lexington, so I know caring for your fur baby will be a walk in the park (pun intended)! So weekly, I do volunteer at my local high school marching band as a percussion tech, (Go Mustangs!), so afternoons, other than Wednesday, are a no go. I am willing to do overnights (except Friday and Saturday nights) starting at 8:30 pm! Anytime during the weekday between the times of 10 am-3:30 pm are available to me! If there’s an emergency, as long as communicated and I am able, I can be more flexible with these exceptions in my schedule. My own home is not available as of right now, but at a clients home, whatever is asked of me will be completed to highest level of care and consideration. Anything I am unsure about will be communicated as promptly as possible. My main goal for caring for your loved one is that they are safe, happy, and nourishingly enriched ie taking for long walks, eating on their schedule, and giving medication if needed.
“Carly was AWESOME! I had extreme anxiety to leave my cats on a 5 day vacation, but Carly made it the best experience it could have been. She was consistent with her times, consistent with sending photos and videos, always updated in the Rover app for each day, and was friendly to my cats VS just showing up to feed and water. She had play time with them and made sure they had interactive play each day. Each day that she sent update photos, my mind was at ease. And that is priceless. You cannot go wrong having Carly look after your fur family.”

“Heather has the best heart and took exceptional care of my animals AND me during my last trip. I appreciate her detailed daily notes and photos. She went out of her way to help me with an unexpected situation and was very kind about it.”

“Rachel was amazing with watching Mittens and Derby. I got updates every night along with pictures. She was super attentive to their needs and made sure they had lots of love while I was on vacation!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
