“We could not be happier with the attention and care taken while we were away. This was our first time away from the cats, and their first time without us. When we returned they were happy, running around, tails in the air, and acting normal as if nothing different had happened. Maybe a little hurt they didn't seem to mind us being away, but that is all the better. We'll be back with Alyssa next years vacation, without any questions or hesitation.”

About: Animals have always held a special place in my heart, and caring for them is something I'm truly passionate about. To me, pets aren't just pets; they're family. I'm a lifelong pet owner and currently have two girl dogs, a Yorkie-Terrier-Chihuahua and a Yorkie-Shih Tzu, along with three boy cats: one gray-and-black tabby and two orange tabbies. I've also spent the past 2 years pet-sitting for friends and family, caring for their pets as I would my own. One thing that sets me apart is the level of love, patience, and attention I devote to every animal in my care. I've had hands-on experience caring for pets with medical needs, including administering insulin injections to my diabetic, senior Bichon-Poodle and providing medication to my rescued shelter cats for various conditions, including urinary infections, conjunctivitis, and parasites. Caring for rescued animals has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and carefully following each pet's individual care instructions. I'm very attentive to feeding schedules, daily routines, and individual needs, and I understand how important consistency is for an animal's comfort and well-being. I follow structured feeding routines with my own cats and dogs, and I'd be more than happy to maintain your pet's usual schedule. I want every animal I look after to feel safe, loved, comfortable, and happy. I know how much trust it takes to leave your beloved pets with someone else, and I don't take that responsibility lightly. Whether it's playtime, walks, cuddles, medication, or simply keeping them company, I'll treat your pets with the same love, dedication, and attention I give my own! As a recent college graduate currently studying for my California real estate exam, I have a flexible daily schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I'm home frequently and am able to accommodate a variety of pet care needs, whether that means walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, or simply keeping your pet company. I provide attentive, loving, and personalized care for pets in their own homes, where they can feel comfortable and stick to their usual routines. I'm happy to do drop-in visits for feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, litter box cleaning, playtime, walks, cuddles, and administering medications as needed. I'm also available for overnight stays or house-sitting, so your pets have company and care throughout the day and night while you're away. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe and comfortable in their own environment, and I'll do my best to keep their routine as consistent as possible. Every pet has their own personality and needs, so I always follow your instructions for feeding schedules, exercise, medications, and any special care. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and needs patience, or simply wants some extra love and company, I'll treat them with the same care and attention I give my own. My goal is to make sure both you and your pets feel comfortable and at ease while you're away.

About: Sometimes I think I should be paying your pets for hanging out with me! I've had pets since I was 4 years old and always rescuing them off the streets to find their owners or good homes. Now as an adult with my own home, I continue to care for animals in every way I can. My husband and I have 2 dogs and 2 cats all rescued from various circumstances. For the past 3 years, we've fostered 11 dogs. All had their own traumas, medical problems and quirks to them so I like to think I can handle a variety of personalities and care instructions. I'm experienced in administering medication, insulin shots, medical baths and plenty of butt wiping LOL. We're a no kid household with no plans to have them, so all our "pets" are very much our four legged children. I'm a helicopter mom at its finest with my local vet and emergency vets on speed dial so rest assured your baby will be safe and loved while under my care. I love to provide photos of my little furry clients to send to their parents while their away so if you're anything like me and can't get your babies out of your mind, you'll be spammed with updates :) Feel free to reach out and ask me any concerns you may have :)

About: Hi! I’m Walter, a lifelong animal lover who grew up with dogs of all sizes, including toy poodles and schnauzers. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, and I enjoy getting to know what makes each one feel comfortable, happy, and safe. Friends and family describe me as calm, dependable, and attentive. Whether your pet loves long walks, playing fetch, cuddling on the couch, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of love and attention while you’re away. I have experience teaching dogs basic commands and enjoy reinforcing positive behaviors through patience and consistency. I’m also comfortable caring for senior pets and following detailed feeding, medication, and exercise routines. My goal is simple: to treat every pet as if they were my own, so you can travel with peace of mind knowing they’re in caring, responsible hands. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable, attentive care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or simply companionship, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention and aren’t left alone for long periods. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs before every booking. I follow feeding, medication, and exercise instructions carefully, maintain a clean environment, and always prioritize safe walks and supervised play. As a board-certified physician, attention to detail, responsibility, and clear communication are qualities I bring to every visit.

About: I have 2 wonderful dogs myself so I understand wanting the best for your little friends. When it comes to caring for a pet it is very important that they be comfortable and have trust with the carer. I can provide a gentle touch like no other to make your furry friends feel loved and safe while you are away. For pet/house sitting it is best to meet before hand to make sure that the animal understands that you trust me so it's okay for them to trust me as well. I can provide as many walks and potty breaks and the dogs need to be comfortable. I do require 24 hours notice for all cancellations. About: I love animals; always have! I used to come home from school and do homework in front of Animal Planet and when it wasn't doing that I was taking care of my neighbor's pets. Cats, dogs and horses and I looked forward to it every time. My responsibilities included walking, playing, feeding and even reading to them (which I have on good authority was very adorable). I'm very excited to take care of your fur babies for you! Fear Free Leader in Animal Wellbeing graduate. *Ask me about Active & Running services* **Ask me about Pet Portraiture Add-ons** I am currently taking online classes and looking forward to being with animals when I can part time. I am looking forward to meeting new pets and taking care of them in between bouts of homework and studying. I am available for most services! Including drop-in check-ins, letting dogs out to do their business or go on walks or play with your pets. I'm also available to pet-sit and keep them company while they relax in their space. After meeting your pets and learning their specific and unique needs, likes or dislikes, I am available to feed, walk, play most days.

About: I myself own two dogs who I would die for so I know how important pets are to somebody. They are family and deserve to be treated with love and respect. I work with kids at the moment at a school so I'm use to looking after someone. I just want a extra income on my weekends. I am bilingual very trust worthy. I can honestly say I care more about others than myself I tend to help others and always try to go out of my way. I hope to look after your pet and provide love & attention whenever I'm with your pet. I will Never leave pet unattended that's a promise. I hope you give me a chance to pet sit. Thank you very much. I recently started dog boarding and pop ups for people on vacation, I brought my cousin who is also a verified walker for meet and greets it’s become a partnership we been doing well. I try my best to work whenever I can usually weekends anytime and weekdays after my job. I get off work weekdays at 6pm. So anytime after 7 weekdays holidays I’m free all day. I don’t mind the number of clients or pets I care for. It depends on the size for me. Besides that I prefer little dogs but I’m able to manage any size

About: I love all animals even the initially intimidating ones. I know how to read animals signals and access their comfort level. I give each pet the time it needs to get comfortable so that I can establish a relationship of trust. I'm nether a cat person or a dog person or a tortoise person for that matter, I love all pets equally. I've taken care of virtually every kind of house, pet (including my aunt's chinchilla) thank you got something I haven't seen before? Bring it on. I'm ready for it all. I don't consider taking care of pets to be at shore or work. I take care of them because they take care of me. They keep me calm and grounded, even when things are at their most chaotic. First things first, I treat each animal as if it were my own. I make sure to give each pet the attention it deserves. Upon first introduction and the patients to let it get comfortable when needed. From there I'm happy to take care of any special requests you might require for your pet.

About: I've taken care of many pets in my life. I have watched my mom use Rover for many years and have helped with many stays and walks. During this time, I have gained experience working with pets who have specialized needs and require more attention than others. Energetic or not, all pets are different and require a good sitter who knows what to expect and handle many situations, and that's me! I can take your pet on walks or watch over them, making sure they're safe and sound. Updates every couple of hours will allow owners to feel peace of mind knowing their pet is in good hands. I am available most days of the week and can help through early mornings or later in the evening. Pet care fits into my schedule and I will respond to any inquiries immediately! During walks, I can avoid other animals if that is required for your pet. We will spend quality time together and a good environment and trust can make your pet feel even happier during the walk. At home I am able to crate pets if necessary and give any medication that is required for them. Those pets with accessibility needs, I am able to carry them downstairs or upstairs if necessary and provide all other senior related care.

About: Hi I’m Brenda! I’m a twenty eight year old college graduate that has a special care for animals especially feline and dog friends. I am very caring and nurturing when it comes to pets as I am attentive towards what they need. If they need medication administered, food given at a certain schedule, daily walks in order to increase physical activity, or even detailed washing I am your helper! I do have prior personal experience coming from my dogs named Chestnut and Prince (both Chihuahua’s) I had helped raised mostly all their lives. They have both crossed the rainbow bridge unfortunately and I do miss them very much. We do have two dogs now Camilla and Luna whom I love very much. I had also babysat feline’s as well. I like to proper feed animals in a timely manner and being communicative towards the owners advising them of any updates from their fur babies. I’m currently working part-time so I have plenty of time for your fur babies! I board all weekend yes and also every weekday after noon. I have a fenced yard and one friendly dog to keep your fur baby company. I can easily crate your dog if needed and attend to their activities/diet needs.

About: I regularly dog-sit for family friends ranging from small, medium, and large dogs (most experience with Chihuahuas, Terriers, Shih Tzus, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, and Spaniels)! I've also been a regular volunteer at Priceless Pet Rescue in Claremont and Chino Hills from 2022 - 2025. I feel particularly comfortable with mellow dogs who just need a friend to hang out with and play together, but I'm excited to care for more active dogs who require consistent exercise and/or mental stimulation. I enjoy walking with dogs in the mornings and evenings when the air and sidewalks are cooler, but I'm more than happy with accommodating your dogs' specific routine. I’m super excited to meet your doggies and thank you for your consideration! I'm currently available all days of the week and open to any specific hours you might need me to check in on your fur baby! I'm also open to overnight boarding if needed. My two cats are strictly indoor only, with occasional supervised and harnessed walks/exploration time outside, which helped me become very attentive. I will notice very quickly if your dogs or cats are not in their usual areas of the house, and will work fast to contact you and locate them ASAP. I will always put your pets' safety first with gentle, cooperative care, patience, and love!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
