“Amber did a wonderful job of caring for my dog while I was away. She always sends updates and pictures, which are greatly appreciated. He was happy and well cared for when I returned. She genuinely cares about her guests. Thanks Amber!”

“It was very easy leaving the dogs with Nancy during our wedding weekend. She was quick to respond with any questions we had, and it was nice to have the option to have her drop off the dogs after the sit. We will definitely consider using Nancy next time we need help. Thank you”

“Ann took excellent care of my dog, Max! She ensured that he got plenty of playtime, and sent me plenty of pictures and updates daily. She even surprised me by giving him a good bath! She also kept him an extra night when I got stranded at the airport. She certainly has a passion for caring for dogs.”

“I cannot recommend her enough! She took amazing care of Reo, and her communication was excellent. She kept me updated throughout the stay and sent me multiple pictures of how Reo was doing. I contacted her at the last minute because Reo had recently been neutered and couldn't attend daycare, and I had to go to work. She was more than willing to take care of Reo on short notice, gave him his medication, and made sure he was comfortable. Thank you so much Megan for your kindness, flexibility, and excellent care!”

“Tanya was seriously great. We ended up testing positive for COVID just 4 hours into our 2-day board and she was so understanding and flexible. While she had Maple, she made her very comfortable and sent lots of photos. Tanya clearly loves animals and will take good care of your pets! Highly recommended and will use her services again.”

Bruno is the biggest love bug ever! We also have a cat named Simon who spoiled rotten! We love all animals great and small! I currently own my own business and am closed for the season. So this gives me time to love your babies! Shoot ma a message. I have a fully fenced back yard. 4 dogs ranging from 12 years old to a year old. 4 indoor/ outdoor cats. Warm, welcome home environment.

“Julie took such good care of our dog Clark while we were away for a long weekend. She sent multiple daily updates with pictures and was so flexible with drop off and pick up times (even when we were 1.5 hours late for original pick up due to traffic) we will definitely be using Julie again!”

“It was such a great experience with Amber during the holidays! This was our first leaving our puppy and I'm glad it was a positive experience. Amber was very accommodating, and responsive and continued to give us updates as we requested. She made sure that all of my puppy needs were met and maintained the same schedule. Thank you Amber for taking care of Simba! 🐾”

“Tania is so warm and friendly, and Darty LOVES staying with her. When we go out of town, we are able to relax because we know Darty's having a great time playing with her dogs and exploring her yard. Tania takes amazing photos, too!”

About: As a trusted home-body I’m always the one to watch family and friends’ pets when they go out of town. And I love it! I’m a freelancer who works from home so my schedule is incredibly flexible. I have more than enough time to play, cuddle, train, take walks, and give your dog all of the attention and care they deserve! I have a large fenced-in backyard and two dogs of my own to keep yours company during their stay. I have one 6 year old chihuahua and one 10-month old rat terrier puppy with plenty of friendly, playful energy. We have tons of toys and treats as well. If they’re kennel-trained, I have a kennel they can feel safe and secure in.

About: I have always had a huge love for dogs and have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities! I volunteer as a trainer with 4 Paws for Ability, where I have fostered, trained, and served as the primary handler for three dogs. Through this experience, I gained valuable skills in obedience training, puppy development, understanding dog behavior, and providing consistent, loving care. Outside of 4 Paws for Ability, I've also been a regular pet sitter for multiple families, caring for their dogs and building trusting relationships with both the pets and their owners. Both through 4 Paws and individually I've cared for dogs of all ages, including puppies as young as 8 weeks old, as well as dogs with special needs and conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia and dogs in heat. These experiences have taught me how important it is to understand each dog's individual needs and adjust my care accordingly. One thing I especially enjoy is helping dogs maintain and build upon their existing training! I'm happy to reinforce commands, routines, and positive reinforcement techniques that families are already working on. I understand how important consistency is, especially for puppies and dogs actively learning new skills. Whether your dog is full of puppy energy, needs a little extra attention, or simply enjoys a relaxed routine, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I know how much trust goes into leaving your dog with someone else, and I'll always treat yours with the same love, patience, and attention I would give my own! I'm currently a college student with a very flexible schedule! My classes are solely in the mornings and last no more than 2.5 hours (even when back-to-back), leaving me with plenty of time throughout the day to dedicate to pet care. I have lots of availability for walks, playtime, potty breaks, and giving your pup the love and attention they deserve! My weekends are also very flexible, allowing me to spend even more quality time with your pup and accommodate longer stays. I'm always happy to work with your dog's usual routine to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you're away! Your dog's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities! I live in an apartment complex with a large, fully fenced-in dog park, providing plenty of space for exercise, playtime, and fresh air. Depending on your dog's personality and preferences, they can enjoy socializing with other dogs or have their own time to run around and play without other dogs present. I always prioritize safe interactions and will never force your pup into an environment they're uncomfortable with. I also have plenty of dog toys to keep your pup entertained, whether they love playing fetch, chewing on toys, or just having something fun to play with! I have a crate available if your dog is crate-trained or feels more comfortable having their own space. I'm happy to follow your dog's usual routines, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, exercise, and any ongoing training. With my experience handling and training dogs, I understand the importance of consistency, patience, and paying attention to each dog's individual needs. When caring for pets in a client's home, I make sure to respect their space and maintain their dog's familiar routine as closely as possible. I also love keeping owners updated with pictures and messages so they can feel confident that their pup is safe, happy, and receiving plenty of love and attention while they're away!
“Super accommodating, great w the needs of our senior dog, and good communication. I was just messing around and asked if they could please not forget to brush his teeth at bedtime. She replied that she couldn't find his toothbrush in his bag...lol.”

I’m great at keeping pets happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, cuddles, and sticking to each pet’s routine. I’m responsible and attentive to every animal I care for to make sure there as comfortable as can be while being away from their owners. I’ll always treat your pets with the same care and love I’d want for my own. Im currently only working part time hours so i have plenty of availability to spend quality time with any pet I will be boarding, sitting or walking! I live in an apartment with my fiance not too far from shillito park so while I don’t have a backyard shillito park is a short walk away and one of my favorite places to go for walks.
About: I’ve always loved animals and have been passionate about keeping them happy and healthy! I love any kind of animal in any shape or size and am not intimidated by big dogs! I have lots of experience with large dogs especially since my family has always owned black labs. I am a student at UK studying Forestry and Wildlife Biology! I attend classes full time but I have full availability on weekends. I can work around my class schedule for drop-in visits and walks. I have a fenced in backyard with plenty of space to play! There are currently no other pets in my home, so no need to worry about antisocial animals feeling stressed or territorial.
About: Hi there! I'm so excited to meet you and your furry family members! Animals have always been my greatest passion, and I've been fortunate enough to turn that passion into a career filled with some pretty incredible experiences! With a bachelor's degree in Equine Science and a master's degree in Marine Biology and Conservation, I've dedicated much of my education and professional life to understanding, caring for, and working alongside animals of all shapes and sizes. My professional background includes working as a veterinary technician, zoological specialist at Busch Gardens, marine mammal biologist, and dolphin trainer. Throughout these roles, I've gained extensive hands-on experience in animal husbandry, behavioral observation, training, enrichment, and providing individualized care. I've had the privilege of working with animals ranging from horses and household pets to dolphins, giraffes, and other exotic species! My veterinary background has also given me valuable experience recognizing changes in animal behavior, understanding health and wellness needs, and remaining calm and attentive in situations requiring extra care. But beyond my degrees and professional experience, I'm simply someone who absolutely adores animals. I understand that pets aren't just pets—they're family. And trusting someone else with a member of your family is a big deal! Whether your pet is joining me for boarding, heading out for a walk, or enjoying a drop-in visit, my goal is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for. I understand that every animal has its own personality, routine, and needs. Whether you have an energetic pup who loves adventures, a senior dog who prefers a slower pace, or a shy pet who needs a little extra patience, I'm happy to tailor my care to what makes them happiest. You can also expect plenty of updates and pictures while your pet is in my care, because I know how reassuring it is to see that your best friend is having a wonderful time! From dolphins and giraffes to dogs and cats, caring for animals has never been just a job to me. It's what I love most! I can't wait to meet your four-legged family members! 🐾❤️ I’m currently working from home and I am a part time student getting my doctorate in animal sciences. I have fairly open availability as much of my work and school work right now is all in house. For boarding I have open availability. For walks I can do anything after 12pm. For drop ins again ai can do anything after 12pm. Pet care is the upmost importance to me, and we can customize the schedule to what your pet needs! My apartment has a dog park attached to it so we can go outside and run and play! My neighbor has a large amount of sidewalks and grass that makes for great walks and sniffing time. I have a cat in the house that adores dogs and other cats and just wants to cuddle all the time, all of her stuff is raised so dogs can’t get into it. I want your pets to be happy and feel safe so if they need a crate or need anything else specific to them let me know and we will work it out!!

About: I have 3 cats and 2 dogs of my own right now and have always had fur families - small to medium dogs, cats, and hamsters, young and old and anywhere in between. I train my puppies/dogs and kittens/cats for basic safety and helping them get used to being handled for grooming. I also do pee pad and/or outside potty training and crate training for puppies/dogs. I’m experienced with giving medicine to both dogs and cats as well as using diapers on senior dogs. I’m able to check on or walk your fur family typically after 5:30 p.m. during the weekdays. I’m available for boarding after 5:30 p.m. on Friday and through the weekends. One of my dogs particularly loves playing with other dogs to keep your dog company! We have a long leash that can be used for the dogs to run around in our big backyard. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet overall. I can also crate your dog as needed or to provide a quiet environment inside the house. I will do my utmost best to respect your wishes and prioritize the safety and comfort of your fur family. I love taking and sending pictures and updates!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Lair home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Lair.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Lair sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
