“Kerri did a great job of taking care of our little Pomeranian Mocha. She understood my concern's of having a very small dog, that this was her first time away from home, and assured me she would be taken cared of well. Kerri sent pics daily of Mocha being treated like a little princess 😀 and having a great time at her house. Would 100% use her again. Thanks Kerri!”

“Danielle was great with my dog. He’s older and can be a bit extra but she was super. Send lots of pics and videos. Would definitely book with Danielle again- thank you!”

“This was my first time using Rover and having my pet stay with Jeremy & his wife, and we will most certainly be return customers! I received daily updates and photos of my dog who always appeared happy and loved! When it was time for pickup, my belongs were tidy and ready to go, with our dog bed having been freshly washed! What a great experience and what a great couple who obviously love dogs and have really figured out how to be gracious, clean, and loving dog watchers!”

“Sonia and Jeff are great dog sitters and very kind and caring people. Our dogs Benson and Chloe were well cared for and even accepted additional days at last notice for an emergency situation. We are grateful for them. They sent photos and wet in close contact with us while away. I highly recommend Sonia and Jeff.”

“Her house is the perfect setup for our high energy dogs! They came back well cared for and so happy! Communication was great and they were super flexible! Thanks for watching our dogs!”

“Marilyn and her family were amazing. My pup can be nervous around other dogs, but Marilyn set up the environment for Ruby to feel comfortable and come out of her shell a bit and show her goofy side. We received so many pictures, videos, and stories of our sweet girl, we passed the phone around and laughed with full hearts. I am so happy to have found Marilyn and will be eager to book her the next time we are traveling.”

“Renee and her family did a amazing job watching my sweet girl! I felt the instant comfort walking into her home and being around them! I usually go with a vet or a boarder when going out of town but since I was going for a whole week I wanted something more personable and I couldn’t of found a better match! The amount of pics and videos I received made me feel so good seeing Remy having such a great time. They treated her like family, I will definitely be booking again!”

“Our dog, Katya, was well taken care of during her stay with Evan at his farm. She enjoyed running around the farm and playing with the other dogs. She was very happy and relaxed on her return home. Would recommend Evan!”

“Mitzy was such a great dog sitter. My dog has not been away from us for a long time. She took the time to make sure Max was welcome and comfortable. I will take my Max back there again.”

“Rocky enjoyed his stay with Ma. He was well cared for and Ma provided regular updates and pictures of him. We are very pleased and will be using her in the future.”

About: I’m a professional dog trainer with years of veterinary medicine experience and a bachelor’s degree in Animal Health and Behavior. I’m experienced with dogs of all breeds, ages, temperaments, and behavioral needs. Caring for animals is already a major part of my everyday life, so adding another dog to my routine fits naturally into my schedule. I live on a farm and care for multiple animals daily, including dogs, horses, poultry, and other farm animals. My days are already structured around feeding, watering, exercise, cleaning, training, enrichment, medication when needed, and monitoring the health and behavior of the animals in my care. As a professional dog trainer, I also understand that dogs need more than food and potty breaks. Dogs staying with me receive plenty of opportunities for exercise, play, enrichment, rest, and individual attention based on their age, personality, energy level, and normal routine. I am accustomed to planning my schedule around animals and making sure their needs are consistently met throughout the day. Safety is one of my highest priorities when caring for someone else’s dog. I am a professional dog trainer with years of veterinary medicine experience and a bachelor’s degree in Animal Health and Behavior. This background allows me to recognize changes in behavior, body language, stress levels, and physical condition that might otherwise be overlooked. Dogs in my care are supervised and managed according to their individual temperament, training, and needs. I do not assume that every dog should interact with every other animal simply because they are staying in the same home. Dogs can be safely separated, crated, rotated, or given individual play and exercise time when appropriate. Because I live on a farm, I take additional precautions when dogs are outside. Every boarding dog wears a GPS tracking collar whenever they are outside of their secure kennel area, providing an additional layer of safety and security. Dogs are never given unnecessary freedom simply because they are staying in a rural environment. My goal is to provide a structured, safe, and enjoyable environment where owners can feel confident that their dog is receiving knowledgeable, individualized care while they are away.

“Amanda was so great for Buddy! She was so flexible in meeting us prior to his stay, and she kept me updated throughout with pictures and video. Whenever I asked how he was doing she promptly replied with a story about his time with her. It was a great comfort knowing that she really cared about his well being while we were gone. Thank you Amanda!”

“Joanna was veryyyy flexible with the drop off and pick up time!! At arrival she showed me where my Princess Bella would be staying and Princess had her own room for her stay. Joanna provided photos at request that made my trip more enjoyable knowing my baby was adjusting to her new surroundings. On pickup day Princess Bella was gifted with a homemade crochet bandanna. I will definitely be using Joanna in the future.”

“Titan had a fantastic time with Teri! I was so nervous to leave my old, quirky pup when I left the country but that fear quickly went away when I met Teri and throughout Titan’s stay. He loved her backyard and all the attention he got and was very comfortable there and will definitely be a repeat visitor when I need a doggy sitter!”

“Brandi and John did a wonderful job and kept me updated throughout the whole stay. My pup had a great time and I was also able to relax knowing she was in great hands. Thank you!”

“Our dog Mila loved her stay with Jill & family! She was well taken care of, had lots of fun with Jill's dog Carolina, and we received photos & updates throughout her stay. We were able to enjoy our time away because we knew our baby was in good hands.”

“We took our golden doodle puppy to Debra for boarding over the Thanksgiving holiday. Debra was incredible to work with. Her love of dogs was evident the second we met her. She took such great care of our puppy and sent us pictures and videos every day. Our puppy Harper even learned a few commands while in the care of Debra. I will most definitely be using her again to puppy sit and highly recommend her!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Kittrell home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Kittrell.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Kittrell sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
