“I knew the first time meeting Joanne that this was the place I felt good about leaving my dog. I have used Joanne 3 times this summer and have been very happy with the care my dog has received. Thanks Joanne!”
“I got sidelined on cross country trip from NY to KY, emergency hospitalization. Purvi picked Allie up at hospital...she & friend Jane took amazing care of her, for what ended being a week. Never worried, stayed in touch multiple times a day. Absolutely recommend these women.”
“Barbara really went the extra mile to make sure our dogs we’re cared for! She provided multiple updates a day and made sure they had plenty of play time. Definitely would recommend!”
“Noria was fantastic with my dog Nala. She boarded her in her home and made sure Nala had lots of fun and was well cared for. Norias love for animals shows through in all she does while caring for my puppy. Noria is very enthusiastic, warm and caring. I would highly recommend her services.”
“Audrey and her family took such great care of our Hazel. We knew she was safe and well cared for and we received updates throughout her stay. We know she had a great time and though we missed her, makes all the difference knowing that she had the best care when we were away.”
“Samantha was great. My dog is pretty anxious, but Samantha made her feel comfortable, and my dog seemed perfectly happy when I picked her up. I would be happy to book with Samantha again.”
“Once again, we could not be happier with our boarding experience with Mr. Tao. Being away on vacation, it is such a relief to get regular updates on our dogs along with pictures of them having a great time. Mr. Tao and his family take excellent care of our dogs and are excellent at communicating regularly. The dogs seemed so relaxed when we picked them up which tells us that they had a vacation of their own and were very well take care of. Thank you Mr. Tao!!”
“Lisa is an absolute gem!! I felt so comfortable leaving my dog with her and her family. Lisa asked so many questions to get to know Maddie and ensure she was comfortable. She provided so many pictures and updated me through your the night. I’m so grateful to have found Lisa and will definitely be booking again!”
“Ana was an absolute pleasure to work with! From the very first message she was warm, friendly, and super responsive. Communication was excellent the entire time — she kept us updated with photos and check-ins so we never had to wonder how the pups were doing. Our dogs clearly had a fantastic time with her. They came home happy, relaxed, and tired in the best way. It’s obvious Ana genuinely loves dogs and knows how to make them feel comfortable and cared for. We feel so lucky to have found her and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. Highly recommend!”
“This was our second time using Kathleen. She’s the best, very accommodating and treats our Maxey like her own pup. We feel very lucky to have found her and will definitely be booking with her again.”
“We could not have been happier with the care our miniature poodle received while staying with Sharon for one week. She was an outstanding caregiver for our dog while accommodating our needs, and made the entire process stress-free. Sharon is an exceptional communicator. She gave us daily updates with messages, photos and videos so that we always knew how our dog was doing and within the first day or two we could see he was content and happy. She was astute in reading the nuances of our dog's behavior around food, treats, medication, and playing, and adjusted her responses accordingly. It was evident she treated our pet like part of her family - her nurturing, patient nature and genuine love for animals really showed. Even her family got involved, and it was comforting to know our dog was pampered by everyone. We returned home after our vacation to a happy and relaxed dog who had clearly received excellent care. We recommend Sharon without reservation to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring and reliable caregiver for their dog.”
“Suneetha was so sweet and took great care of our puppy I would highly recommend her. We will be looking to use her again when we head out of town she’s our new first choice.”

“Our dog Penny had a wonderful stay with Debbie. She has a beautiful property and home, and upon receiving photos and videos, it was evident Penny felt very comfortable there. Debbie was an excellent communicator and gave us updates each day which was very reassuring. We are very grateful to have found her!”
“Esther was amazing with Mia! Esther sent me daily updates and pictures. Mia is in a single dog home and she got along well with Esther's dog. Mia was rescued on August 24, 2026 and Esther and her care of Mia was a HUGE relief when I went away for the weekend! I am looking forward to Mia's next stay with Esther!”
“Ivy was AMAZING with our new pup, Holly. Holly is a very curious pup and gets into things sometimes but she is a sweetheart. Ivy taught Holly the “stay” command and “paw” during her week stay with Ivy. Our Holly LOVED Ivy’s son and got along with their dog, too, which makes me really haopy”
“It makes our heart lighter to know that Kiri is safe & loved when we travel: not just by Kathleen, but by her whole family. Kathleen sends us daily updates with lots of wonderful photos of all the fun Kiri has. We can always tell that Kiri is well taken care of, & often say she's on her own vacation whenever she stays with Kathleen and her family!”
“Mikaila was absolutely AMAZING! Our dog needs 1-1 attention due to anxiety and she was perfect. She took him on many walks around the city and communicated with me often. Highly highly recommend and will absolutely be using her again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Kingwood home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Kingwood.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Kingwood sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
