“Shirley is the best! She is responsible, kind, and very communicative. We appreciated all the photos she shared and took comfort knowing that our puppy was in great hands with Shirley. You can tell that she is a true animal lover. Highly recommended!!”

“This was the first time being away from our dog and Nicole did a great job at making him and my family feel at ease! She regularly kept me updated with messages and pictures and took very good care of him. Will definitely use her again!”

“Jialarie was a delight and a great sitter for my pup. I can tell he had a wonderful time and have ample time to release his playful energy. She was responsive and provided pictures and clear communication. I will be booking again in the future.”

“I left my elderly Little Lady with Anny during a family emergency and she was able to help out on such short notice. Anny bought snacks for Reina and kept her fed and very happy :) Anny let me know everyday how happy and secure Reina was. I knew she was with an amazing and loving family for the weekend. They even left me with the most beautiful Valentines day basket afterwards with a custom blanket and printed photos! Literally could not have asked for a better situation ❤️😊”

“Alice and Ethan were amazing with my dog Sully! They took so many pictures and I can see how much attention he was getting! He got to go all over with them and explore new neighborhoods which he loves to do. I will definitely be using them again in the future!”

“Juliana was absolutely wonderful. She sent updates daily and by the end of his stay, Teddy didn’t want to leave her! Grateful she was able to take care of him for us.”

“Margarita and Cristian were fantastic! They took great care of my dog and were attentive throughout the entire stay. They kept me updated, which gave me complete confidence that my dog was in good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and caring sitters.”

“Adriana was super sweet with my Emma. She was great with communication and sent the BEST photos of my fur baby to keep me updated. I’ll definitely be rebooking her again the next time I am on holiday.”

“Alanis and Marco are by far the best dog sitters I have come across on the Rover app. Gigi and I absolutely love them and I will only use them anytime I have to leave Gigi.”

“If you want your pup to feel like they're at a home away from home - book with Tina. She and her family (two young children who will entertain your dog endlessly) will provide a loving environment with lots of play and attention. I boarded my 7 year old pit mix for several days and he felt right at home immediately. Tina was great sharing photos and videos of Lincoln playing in the fenced in back and taking lots of walks (I think he thought twice about coming back home :)). So happy I found her.”

“Amazing, very responsible, and has a great spirit. Susan always keeps you posted and sends pictures which makes anyone who is leaving their dog with her as your sitter for your pet very comfortable. I’d give her 10 stars if I could!”

“We love Crazy Loving Pet Care! This was Maple’s second stay. Mariela was so responsive—she constantly sent pictures of our little girl and kept us updated. Maple is always happy with her and her family. We will definitely use her again.”

“It was our first time using Rover and leaving our pup and we’re so glad we choose Bridget! We were just around the corner from her and it’s a plus that she has a pup of her own, Dior, to keep our little guy company. She sent daily updates, including pictures, of our little guy and he came home happy and healthy. We will definitely continue to use Bridget to help care for our little guy Marty!”
“It’s so sweet and comforting to see how Ryan and Jefra treat Buttercup like their own. This was the first time I’ve left him with a sitter for so long (two weeks) and he got special treats, snuggles, and playtime in their hallway while it stormed in New York. I got updates anytime I asked, and as usual Jefra took stunning pictures of him that are hard to believe are just iphone photos! Anytime we come by with him they’re friendly, and easy to talk to as well. Would highly recommend.”

“Valentina was such an incredible sitter who not only shared constant photos and videos but you could tell the cat was being cared and loved in her temporary home! Definitely one of the best out there!”

“Jessica and her family are wonderful. They took such good care of my dog and provided constant communication and feedback. They even dropped her back off at my house during a snow storm so that I didn't have to travel. I would 100% recommend Jessica and her family for any pet care. I'm so glad to have found you on Rover! Thank you!”

“Mayra was great! She made us feel so comfortable leaving our dog with someone for the first time! She sent picture and video updates daily and multiple times again. Would definitely recommend!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Kings Point
Jasper had a great time with Nari, Ryan and Jiyu! We did a meet & greet and 1 day boarding prior to our vacation. Our dog seemed happy during his time away. Nari and Ryan sent daily videos / photos ensuring we felt comfortable while away. They accommodated the time difference well, were flexible with pickup and drop off, and were super great with our instructions. They walked Jasper several times a day and even brushed his fur. We will use them again, great sitters!

Katelyn and Daniel are absolutely amazing! They really saved the day! To cut a long story short, my original dog sitter, whom I had booked months in advance for my trip, canceled on Leela at the last minute. When she met Leela, she said Leela was barking too much and that her apartment situation wasn't suitable for a vocal dog like Leela. My husband and I rushed to find another sitter and found Katelyn. We reached out to her about our upcoming trip and asked if they could take care of Leela for a week. We were completely honest with them about Leela’s behavior and boarding requirements, and they were incredibly understanding and accommodating. They met Leela and inquired about any specific concerns or instructions I had for her care. Katelyn and Daniel really put my mind at ease while my husband and I were away. We received daily updates from them, and Leela really took a liking to them, which was a pleasant surprise since she can be quite picky about who she likes. Katelyn and Daniel are genuinely nice, responsible, and caring individuals. I will definitely be reaching out to Katelyn and Daniel again!

We are so happy we found Viera! It always feels hard to leave our 15yo dog when we need to travel but Ginger had a great time in Viera's care. Viera and her family are lovely and Ginger enjoyed the human and canine companionship during our absence. She came home happy and relaxed. We will definitely book with Viera again.

We felt very comfortable leaving our puppy with Shan. Her and her family clearly love dogs and sent us many pictures and videos throughout the stay. Our puppy seemed well adjusted when we picked him back up! We plan to have our puppy stay with Shan again when we need a sitter for our fur baby.

Piper and Juno had a fantastic week being cared for by Lisa and Gracie, Juno’s new best friend! Both our dogs were cared for like family, and Lisa shared many pictures and kept us up-to-date throughout the week. We were able to enjoy our vacation, knowing that they were both happy and loved and in great hands. A very kind family to take care of our loved ones.!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Kings Point home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Kings Point.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Kings Point sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
