“April did a great job. I came home to a clean house, she took great care of my dogs, kept me updated, sent lots of pics, and catered to their specific needs as older and large breed dogs. Thanks April!”

“Arianna was great with our two boys and was super helpful in setting up the house sitting appointment. She sent plenty of updates and pictures of our boys during the trip and kept everything under control around the house. Even our normally standoffish schnauzer warmed up to her by the end of her time! Would definitely recommend Arianna for your pet sitting or any other pet help needs.”

“Selena was great! She took the time to come meet Cooper before she stayed with him & communicated very well with cute photos. We would have her back to watch Cooper again anytime!”

“Emily was phenomenal! She cared for Zara as she would her own. She sent sweet photos and daily updates. I had complete peace of mind while my pup was under her care. I will be hiring again!”

“Derek was fantastic. We booked a housesitting with him on very short notice (11 hours). He was great with our 3 dogs and 4 cats and kept the house clean. Thank you SO much.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 14 years old and have always had a genuine love for pets. Over the years, I’ve helped care for a variety of animals, including cats, ferrets, and dogs through pet sitting and house sitting for neighbors and family friends. I also have a 9 year old Border Collie/Lab mix of my own, who I’ve cared for and grown up with. Pet care is something I do on the side because I truly enjoy being around animals and building bonds with them. I’m dependable, attentive, and committed to making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. I currently work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for pet sitting, drop-in visits, and walks. Since caring for animals is something I genuinely love, I enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality and making sure they feel comfortable, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m open and adaptable to different pet care needs and always happy to help however I can! House sitting and overnight stays are available on a case by case basis depending on each pet’s needs, routine, and care requirements. My goal is always to provide reliable, loving care while making sure both pets and owners feel comfortable and confident. I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for by being patient and understanding with their individual personalities and needs. With my own dog and other pets I’ve cared for, I’ve learned that building trust takes time, so I never force interaction. I let pets come to me at their own pace so they can feel comfortable and secure in their environment. Creating a calm, loving, and stress free atmosphere is always my priority.
About: While our family has owned cats more often than dogs, I have been around enough pooches to know that each has its own distinct personality and as such needs its own special care. Whether stopping by for a play session or a neighborhood walk, I will devote the same level of attention and care as I would if it was my own pet. I can adjust my schedule to fit the need of a client. I am currently doing food delivery so am not on a set schedule. I have evenings and Saturdays free, and could easily find time to care for your pet in mornings if needed. I will base my care on whatever the client desires. For dogs, if it is simple potty breaks or walks, for cats feeding and playful interaction. Whatever the client specifies.
“Jackie did a great job with our dog. She was excellent at communicating with us and sent us pics throughout her stay. She took terrific care of our pup and place and we would not hesitate to to use her again! Thanks so much Jackie!”
“Kaitlyn was excellent. Took good care of Gino. It was his first time where mom had left for more than just a few then just a few hours. Took care of his meds. Spent time on the couch cuddling and sent me a few pictures. I would use Kaitlyn again for sure”

About: I grew up with a dog my age so I not only had experience with him as a puppy while I was young but taking care of him as an older dog while we grew up. As I have been an adult I have taken on the role for many family members and friends of pet sitter. I often care for multiple dogs and cats in their own home and I love it! Ive trained and cared for pets of all kinds and I hope to never stop! I'm currently an ASL interpreting student entering my sophomore year of college. I have school on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8-4, and I spend the rest of my time studying at home, and going hiking/walking with my dog! I have grown up with many different dogs, so I have lots of pet experience. I can care for puppies and elderly dogs, enthusiastic and shy dogs, and all kinds of cats! I am also technologically skilled, a good troubleshooter, and know how to take care of a house in general.
“Jamie took such good care of our two special needs dogs while we were away for a long trip. She’s super flexible, sent lots of updates and pictures, and we will absolutely have her watch the boys again! Thanks, Jamie!!”

About: I have been caring and owning dogs for over 5 years. I have most experience dog sitting and walking; and I am most excited to meet all your fury friends! I have roughly 2 and a half years of house sitting. Whatever it may be: cleaning, cooking, dog-walking, dog sitting, etc. I can do it! No matter how busy I might be, I will always make time for animal care. Weekends and MWF are always the best days when it comes to animal care, as Tuesdays and Thursdays are my slightly busier days. But morning to night, I can handle feedings, potty breaks, and play time. My own pets are on a schedule for feedings and playtime and walks. I guarantee that no matter the pet, whatever is needed for your fur babies, I will fulfill it. I personally love a good cuddle on the couch and a walk on some nature trails to stretch those legs, but anything from pet yoga to swimming, I'll make sure any animal is taken care of.
About: I’ve been caring for pets since I was 14, starting with neighbors’ dogs for walks and daily care. Over the years, I’ve continued pet sitting for friends, family, and coworkers. I have experience with both dogs and cats, including regularly caring for my parents’ pets and helping a friend with her two cats. In the past few years, I’ve also watched many coworkers’ dogs. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, and making sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. As a teacher, I have a consistent weekday schedule, which allows me to provide reliable care. I’m available for check-ins ands walks once during the day, as well as mornings and evenings. I’m especially flexible on weekends, when I have more open availability for extended visits, walks, or overnight care. I always make sure pets get the attention, routine, and care they need, even on my busier days. I provide a safe, calm, and clean environment where pets can feel comfortable and at home. Since I live alone and don’t have pets of my own, I’m able to give my full attention to the pets I’m caring for. I stick closely to each pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions from the owner. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and make sure their pet feels secure by maintaining their usual routine and environment. I provide plenty of updates, photos, and communication so owners feel at ease while they’re away. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and stress free, whether they’re in my home or their own.
About: As a dedicated pet sitter who works from home, I’m able to provide constant care and attention to your furry family member. With a secure fenced yard, your dog will enjoy plenty of outdoor time and bathroom breaks whenever needed. What truly sets me apart is the love we have for dogs—we treat every pup like one of our own. I regularly care for friends’ dogs while they're on vacation, and our home becomes a mini getaway for the pups too, with toys, snuggles, and parent-approved treats. Your dog won’t just be watched—they’ll be loved. Since I work from home, I have the flexibility to take dogs for walks during meeting breaks or let them play and relax in our fenced-in yard throughout the day. On weekends, I love exploring local trails and dog parks, and—with your approval— I’d be thrilled to include your dog in our outdoor adventures. Our fenced-in yard offers a safe and spacious area for dogs to play and get fresh air throughout the day. We have a large dog crate available if your pup prefers a quiet, secure space to rest. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor toys for playtime—you're welcome to bring your dog’s favorites too. Our sweet 3-year-old golden retriever, Lychee, is friendly and loves having playmates. We’re within walking distance of a fenced-in dog park, perfect for extra exercise and social time (with your approval). Frequent photo updates—I love capturing special moments to share with you. Your pet’s safety is our top priority; AirTag or pet GPS tracker available.
“Monica is a terrific dog sitter. I would recommend her. She took care of my five dogs without any incident that I am aware of.😂 we would definitely use her again. She sent us the cutest pictures and had great communication.”

About: Hi! I am a Licensed Profession Clinical Counselor and work for a non-profit agency working with foster care kids. I have a MA degree in Psychology and have been told I have a "calming" affect on pets and people. I honor God in all I do and treat ALL creation with love and compassion. References of course available both professional and personal. I myself use Rover for my pets and I feel more comfortable with adults vs. teenagers in my home while I am away. That is why I joined to bless other families that want an older adult in their home. Flexible schedule . I make my own schedule and will work around the needs of your pets. I can drop by for visits as well I do not offer care in my home but will stay in your home and be clean and tidy and send as many videos and pictures as you request.
“Anabelle was amazing! The animals loved her. She communicated with us keeping us up to date on how everyone was doing. Sent pics and videos of our fur kids and kept the house tidy. Will definitely book again.”

About: I have had dogs in my life since I was a little kid, so very comfortable with pets! I am a nurse currently at OSU so wanting to give back to some dogs near me! Very big on animal rights as well :) With my normal week schedule being different almost every week it can be hard to find certain days! However, every week I’m open 4 days with my nursing schedule! I am more than open to do different things if needed, but really looking at walking, feeding, letting them outside, playing, and just entertaining in general! Not really looking to ever stay overnight anywhere though!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,451 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kilbourne. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kilbourne walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kilbourne maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kilbourne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
