About: Hello! I have dog-sat, cat-sat, and taken care of just about any animal of friends and family since I was 12 years old (I'm 26 now)! I'm new to setting up an account on rover.com but I have been loving dogsitting/catsitting (you name it!) for all of my life! One of my favorite things to do is to is spend time with animals and make sure they are being cared for in every way! About: I have experience working on this app since around 2017 in the Seattle metro area. I love animals of all kind and have experience with extra large to extra small. I am currently available full time. This means I will stop accepting requests at 40 hours per week. My weekends and weekdays are open for pet care. About: I am an avid pet lover and caregiver with many different breeds of animals. I have an innate ability with animals who sense my compassionate nature for their well being. I am trustworthy, honest, seeking part time supplemental income. I have a friend who owns a Bernice Mountain Dog, who I have dog sat for many times as well as taken on long walks and fed. I also helped raise two female Alaskan Huskies from pups. I taught them basic obedience training (how to shake, sit and lay down). I am available to work anytime Monday-Friday and anytime on Saturday and Sunday. I can do overnight stays during both week nights and weekends. About: I'm 36 years old, I love animals and recently got out of the Navy. My family has four dogs back home, kimchi (pitbull lab mix), Indy (German shepherd mix) Louis and Rene (daschunds), and three cats that we rescued (Jiji, Cleo and Smokey). In high school I worked as a kennel worker at a veterinary hospital for 2 years and love working with animals. I’ve spent some time volunteering at local animal shelters at different places I was stationed with the military. I really enjoy taking dogs on walks and hikes and would love to take care of your pets while you’re away. I’m available for house-sitting, drop in visits and dog walks. I work nights from 8 pm-6:30 am, I’m off 7 days/6 nights in a row every other week, feel free to reach out and I’ll let you know if I work any of the dates you’re interested in. During a week where I work, I would be able to come back to your pet in the morning and feed them breakfast/either go for a walk or hang out a bit. Afterwards I would sleep from roughly 8:30 am-12:30pm. When I wake up at 12:30 I can offer your pet a midday walk/potty break/or just some one on one time. Around 3 pm, I may take a 2-3hr nap, but otherwise I will be free from 12:30 pm until I need to leave for 8 pm shift. If you have questions/concerns with this schedule I’m more than happy to answer them. When I am off I switch back to a normal daytime schedule will be able to spend the day/night with your pet. When watching your pet, I’m there for your pet. If they want to hang out and do nothing, we’ll do that. If they want to go for walks, hikes or adventures, we’ll do that. I’m Jen — a lifelong animal lover with over 4 years of hands-on experience working at an animal shelter, plus many additional months caring for dogs and other animals on a small farm property. If there’s one thing I truly understand, it’s dogs. Especially the shy, anxious, and misunderstood ones. They hold a very special place in my heart! There is no greater feeling than earning the trust of a dog who needs a little extra patience and understanding. At the shelter I worked with every type of dog imaginable, from easygoing family pups to dogs with more complex needs due to past trauma. I was trusted to walk and handle even the more anxious or sensitive dogs, helping them build confidence and learn to trust new people. I’m very comfortable reading dog body language and adjusting my approach so each dog feels safe, respected, and understood. One of the dogs I worked closely with, Donald, needed a trusted handler present while new volunteers learned how to walk him safely, and I helped train others so he could get the exercise and enrichment he deserved. I also helped start enrichment initiatives at the shelter, including treat puzzles, mental stimulation games, and a “dog play buddy” program to give the dogs additional socialization and activity. One of my most special experiences there was helping care for a mama dog who gave birth to a litter of 10 (10!) puppies. I helped care for and socialize those puppies as they grew until they were ready for their forever homes. Over that time I’ve handled everything from daily walks and feeding schedules to vet visits, medication routines, and adjusting to a dog’s individual quirks and energy levels. About: I walked dogs for an elderly woman thru college. I watched my family and friends dogs on numerous occasions. My own family has elderly dogs that I have helped care for. I work from home Monday and Friday, available to house sit or change my schedule to fit any long term match. Available for drop in visits daily.
