“Amie was a rockstar! She was very thorough and asked appropriate questions to ensure the best possible care for my cat. She is knowledgeable, has excellent communication, and provided detailed updates. She was incredibly kind and patient with my anxious kitty, and I am so grateful to her!”

“Dave went above and beyond with my puppy and a visiting puppy who were a bit more challenging than some older dogs might be. We're so grateful he worked with them to ensure they were comfortable and well taken care of. Thank you!”

About: I have worked as a recurring dog sitter for several families over the past five years, each with a different breed of dog (Weimaraner, Schnauzer, Dachshund). This has equipped me with the specific tools and knowledge to provide exceptional care grounded in experience. Additionally, working with a wide range of breeds has afforded me the opportunity to familiarize myself with the varying behaviors and needs of different dogs. I deferred law school for one year to work on my creative writing. As a result, my schedule is very flexible and conducive to working around your family's unique pet care needs. I take pet health and safety vary seriously, practicing the same standards I use personally to keep my own pets safe. For me, this means maintaining a clean and tidy environment free from any potential hazards (e.g., not leaving chocolate at a level a dog could reasonably reach; making sure gates and doors are closed). In addition to maintaining a safe environment, I try to be emotionally tuned in to the animal I am watching. For instance, when the Weimaraner I watch gets anxious due to people walking past the house, I talk to her in a soft voice and pet her until she calms down. If I zip to the store, I will close the blinds so she is not in a position to be triggered by this stimulus.
“Susan was wonderful with my cats, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and attentive pet sitter. From the start, you could tell she genuinely cares deeply about animals. She asked thoughtful questions, paid close attention to detail, and ensured my cats received the best possible care. She was also very personable and kept me updated while I was away, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. I've already rebooked her to pet-sit for me again! She’s the best.”

“Nadine did an amazing job with our cat. Lots of playtime and pets when she stopped by for an evening drop-in. She kindly sent videos and pictures too! We hope to use Nadine again in the future!”

“Abi is truly wonderful, and my family and I are really appreciative of the time, care, and thoughtfulness she put into taking care of our three babies this past week. Some of our boys have special needs and Abi fully took our requests and concerns seriously—every day we came back to very happy, content animals. She was on time, stayed the entire duration agreed upon, sent photos and updates, and clearly made our crew feel at ease throughout. We can’t thank you enough again, Abi, for helping us out in a pinch and putting our minds at ease. We will definitely be reaching out to you again in the future.”

About: I have cared for puppies, large dogs, small dogs, kittens and cats of all shapes and sizes, chickens and birds, sheep, goats and various farm animals for over 20 years! I care deeply about their happiness and wellbeing whether they're my animals or ones I see/find out and about. I own my own business running an online farm stand so my cats and chickens follow me around the farm or find a sunny place to snooze all day everyday! As I manage my own schedule I can slip away multiple times a day with no issue for your pets walks or potty breaks! I can provide play, snuggles, meds or medical care, brushing, food, water, treats, lots of pets or just some company and baby talk for visits and walks. I am an honest and reliable person and I take the care of animals whether mine or otherwise, pets or wild, incredibly seriously.
“Emily was amazing with Pepper, my shy hound. Emily showed up promptly for each visit and was very thorough. Even her pre-visit questions were thorough. She is very caring and kept me very informed. I highly recommend Emily.”

“Alicia was awesome. She was able to go check on my dogs with just a few hours notice while my wife went into labor. She provided pics of the pups, spent time with them and made sure they were comfortable and happy. Will 100% be booking again, and suggest anyone else who is looking books with Alicia as well.”

“Hannah is the best! She surpassed any hope or expectation we had when looking for someone to visit our two dogs while we were completing an out-of-state relocation complicated by last-minute schedule changes. It was great to know our best friends were in good hands, and they seemed to thoroughly enjoy their time with Hannah, who kept us up to date with pictures and notes and answered all of our questions. If we need a pet sitter again at any point, she is the first person we’ll look for, and we highly recommend her for your pets, as well.”

“Oh what can I say, Michelle was amazing. Took care of our 15 year old cocker spaniel. And took lots and lots of pictures communicated with me about every detail about our little girls life. So that we felt like she was well taken care of and had lots of company. We would recommend Michelle anytime anywhere any place for any type of animal. She is loving caring honest hard-working and very very sweet. Michelle is a very professional person and respected our home and our lifestyle”

About: I have been working as a veterinary assistant for 3 1/2 years. I am experienced in giving oral and injectable medications. I love dogs and cats of any size! I currently work 3 1/2 days a week and I’m doing pet care on my days off. I love spending my time meeting and taking care of new pets! I treat every pet like they are my own. I always send updates to the pet parents throughout my visits so everyone can be stress free!
“Jordan has ALWAYS been so good with my girls. I love having her watch over my girls and as long as she is able she’ll always be my first choice to care for my girls. She sends updates, and is so communicative and caring for them. Cannot stress how much your kiddos will be loved when she is watching them.”

“Elias took fantastic care of my tricky kitty, including administering meds in food and dealing with frozen wet food (Smalls) which is trickier than scooping dry food or opening a can. They were very responsive communication-wise and enthusiastic. I will definitely turn to them again for kitty care when I next leave town.”

About: I've been around dogs my entire life. At about 5 years old, my father adopted my grandfather's two Beagles and they quickly became my best friends. Today, I have 2 dogs at home, one that's 17 and one that's 7. And still they're my best friends. For as much as I love dogs, it really does feel like they love me back. Whenever I go over anyone's house I hear " Wow he never behaves this well around people normally." Each dog is so unique and the most fun thing for me is learning what makes them wag their little tails! I work from home from my apartment and only have one roommate so I'm incredibly flexible when it comes to scheduling. I'm sure that I could make just about anything work given a small notice. I have a two room apartment and a kitchen. Playing and feeding is easy for me in the apartment, but I also have a park right near me, about a 5 minute walk away.

About: I tend to be fun, responsible, and calming for them. I like it and take pride in it. The best thing about caring for animals, is seeing their personalities, what they consider manners, and seeing them light up when they're being respected on their terms too. The best part of my mornings on my family farm, is taking a hike with the Bassett. Neither of us are satisfied with our morning until it happens. She needs it, and deserves it. While I'm away from her, I need to hike, or I get soft I ask owners what their pets needs and personalities are. What they consider manners, and if they are tricksters, what to expect. All animals are their own kind of person, and they deserve to be treated as such.
About: I’ve been a reliable source of pet care for friends and family, including midday potty breaks, walks, and check-ins. I provide consistent, attentive care you can count on! I work as a dental hygienist Monday–Thursday, and offer pet care Fridays through Sundays. My limited availability allows me to provide focused, reliable care on weekends. Pets in my home are always supervised in a calm, structured environment. I have one well-trained, timid dog. Due to an unfenced yard and nearby road, all outdoor time is on leash for safety.
About: I’ve been an animal lover my whole life, starting my pet care career in high school at a doggie daycare, and ending up here, with 6 years of professional experience and the same love of animals I’ve had since the beginning. I do have a full time job that prevents me from doing any jobs between the hours of 7am-4pm Tuesday-Thursday. Friday/Saturday I am available beginning at 2pm, and Sunday/Monday I have open availability. I treat all animals the way I would hope someone would take care of my girls when I go on vacation. There’s nothing more important to me than knowing they’re in good hands with someone who will not only stop by and feed them, but spend time with them, maybe cuddle on the couch or just keep them company. I understand that your pets are family, and I will always treat them as such.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Keene. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
