“This was our first time using Rover and Victoria did a great job of putting us at ease. She sent updates/pictures of how he was doing and was quick to respond to any requests. We would definitely use her again if needed!”

“I think if given the choice Phoenix would live with Sarah and Justin, she loves them to death and we do too! She had the best (almost) two week vacation of her life at their house!”

“Sara was amazing! She sent lots of pics and updates. She was very responsive to my messages. I will definitely be a repeat client. My pup was so happy with her and her dogs. Thanks sara for taking such great care of my sweet boy!”

“Destinee and Trevor have watched Kingsley several times, anywhere from a couple of days to a week and a half. Destinee and her family are nothing but the best. During this last trip, Kingsley started having an allergic reaction to the medication she was on for her ear infection. Destinee informed me immediately and kept me up to date with amazing communication and then bent over backwards to help Kingsley feel better. She always has prompt communication and sends several pictures throughout the stay. I cannot recommend Destinee and Trevor enough!”

“Bill and his wife are so good with our baby and always send us a daily picture of how he is doing. We are always confident of his safety and happiness while he is there! We have used them several times and will continue to do so in the future.”

“Emily was great! She had excellent communication throughout Ziggy’s stay and was super flexible with pickup and drop-off, which we really appreciated. Ziggy was so clearly comfortable and at home there (when we picked him up we honestly didn’t think he was ready to leave! It was such a relief knowing he was happy and well cared for. We will definitely use Emily again!”

“Stacy was so wonderful to our 2 yard old Golden Doodle! Her house is a friendly place and the whole family loves dogs. Stacy sent us plenty of updates throughout the days she cared for Kaia in her home of both dogs playing, sleeping, and eating. Let Stacy be your dog’s home away from home!”
“Breanna was an amazing dog sitter who went above and beyond for our girls and I couldn't be happier! She sent me frequent updates and pictures which really made my time away from them easier. She kept me in the loop on everything that was going on including that the girls were not feeling to well. She went to far as to pick up medication for my dogs and bathe them to keep them clean and feeling better. I'm just so thankful for all the love she and her family showed them and would love for them to take the girls back the next time we need a sitter! ❤”

“Yvette was truly a great sitter for my 3 kiddos (🐶🐶🐶) I’m sure it was a hassle with 3 dogs. She kept me updated with pictures and videos of how they were doing throughout the 3 days she looked over them. Meatball Nala and worm looked happy and well fed while they stayed with her. Thank you for everything Yvette will definitely book again.”

“Emily and her wonderful family have watched our pup many times, some for short stays and some for longer (10+ days). Our dog always comes home so happy and well cared for. She is always excited to arrive at Emily’s and is thoroughly spoiled while there.”

“Millie had a great time at Tracy’s. Tracy was excellent at communicating with us and letting us know how Millie was doing. Millie had fun with all her friends there.”

“Jackson came through for me at the last minute and watched my dog right before I had to leave for vacation. He provided great communication and really saved our trip. Thanks so much, Jackson!”

“Sharon was awesome, she took good care of my dogs and was really flexible when I had to adjust my schedule due to a missed flight. I definitely recommend her.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Joppa home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Joppa.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Joppa sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
