About: I’ve grown up alongside dogs and other animals and helped take care of them since I was young. When I was sixteen, my family adopted our puppy Sal at eight weeks old, and it was my responsibility to take care of him, train him, and love on him. From there, I volunteered at Almost Home animal shelter in Van Buren for two years, where I walked dogs of all sizes and weights, played with them, fed and cared for them, and cleaned out their kennels and bowls. As of now, I’m living away from my family dog since I’m in college, but I’m helping a friend of mine walk and train her newly adopted Cane Corso (she’s a sweetie). I’ve watched dogs for friends and family all through the years, as well. As far as cats go, I’ve loved them since I was a kid, and I adopted one two years ago! His name is Walter, he’s a tabby and the sweetest boy alive, and I love taking care of him, even if he shreds my arms sometimes. Pets need love and patience, and that’s exactly what I have for them. :) I’m currently out of college classes for the summer, so my schedule is very flexible! I can work with any requests you send me, so long as we have ample time to discuss everything you’re looking for. I can easily adapt to your pet’s regular schedule, including mealtimes, bedtime, medication, if they need to be crated, playtimes, etc. The comfort and happiness of your pet is my first focus.

“Aly has been amazing with my two pups Teddy and Blaze! They absolutely adore her, and she does a wonderful job of leaving me fantastic visit updates (I love all the photos mid day while I’m away at work). Aly has also been great and super understanding with a few last minute schedule changes on my end. She’s awesome, and so lucky my pups have her to take care of them and check in throughout the week. 🙂”

“Venita did absolutely wonderful with Shooter. She gave him extra attention and it meant so much to me! Would highly recommend her and will definitely be using her in the future!”

“Jade was fantastic! She was very nice and took wonderful care of our boys! She always got us great photos while we were away, I would highly recommend Jade to anyone needing their pets watched. We’ll be asking her to watch our boys again for sure!”

“Emily was an absolute star! She took excellent care of our cat, Simon, while we were away — feeding him, refreshing his water, playing with him, and most impressively, expertly giving him his oral medication! She also left our home so clean and well-kept! We recommend Emily to anyone and everyone!”

“Barbara has helped us with our golden retriever puppy for the last 7 months. She has came every Monday thru Friday to let him out while we are working. She has never missed a day, very responsive, and very reliable! She is so sweet and recommend her to anyone who is wanting helping with their pets. We are truly grateful for her!”

“I definitely recommend! I was very skeptical at first because it was my first time booking a pet sitter but she was amazing. we met prior to the booking just to meet each other and talk a little! she followed instructions very well and I could tell my cats loved her company and were very comfortable. I loved all the photos she send and will book again!”

“Anna was very professional. She was also very patient as we originally had the wrong dates. She showed up on time for multiple appointments and we came back with all of our girls happy.”

About: I have experience in taking care of pets ever since I was 5 years old. I have the most experience with taking care of dogs with feeding, bathing, walking, and training. A pet is a family member and will be treated as such. I work from home every day and am able to freely care for your furry friend throughout the day and attend to their needs as needed. I have 3 kids who also love dogs. I am open all week and will make sure your pet is considered part of the family when taking care of them. I do not have a fenced-in yard but will walk your fur baby daily. We go out 3 times a day every day and have play time or stimulation such as lick mats daily.
“Katelyn arrived on time and communicated with us during her visit with Ozzie. He is diabetic and she gave him his insulin injection and other meds. She took really good care of him. We will definitely call on her again.”

“Imbri was great! Very responsive and provided updates throughout the whole stay! I don't have the easiest or nicest cat and Imbri did great. Highly recommended and will be rebooking for future use. Thank you!”

About: Hello! I have two dogs of my own, and they’re my babies. I know how important a dog can be to a human (mans best friend for a reason), so I will be sure to take care of your dog/ cat as if it was my own. I have a shar pie who needs lots of grooming and care, so I’m definitely willing to give baths and groom your pup. I want to make sure your pet is comfortable and happy. I’m pretty good at multitasking and walking more than one dog at a time (lots of practice). I’m dependable, so if you’re looking for someone consistent, I’m your gal! I love all animals, but dogs are the purest of all. I can’t wait to meet yours!
About: I have grown up around dogs and watched them for others since I was round 9 years old. I love walking and caring for them in any way needed! My little yorkie back home has epilepsy, and when I am home I administer her pill every morning and night! I will be able to care for the sweet pets any day of the week! I am a server currently and will work pet sitting into my schedule for what is best suitable for the pet! Pets are treated like family here! I provide a safe, clean, and cozy environment where your dog or cat can feel right at home. I follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible—feeding, potty breaks, walks, and playtime happen on their schedule. I offer plenty of love, supervision, and cuddles.
“Iyari was fantastic!! My dog absolutely loved her, and she left detailed comments about her visits. She also stopped in on time, and I had no worries about hiring her for the weekend. She was also very easy to get in touch with. I will definitely book with her again:)”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Johnson
Emily was amazing! She took great care of our cat while we were away. We got lots of pictures, a very clear description/summary of the visits, and we felt safe and comfortable having her visit our home while we were away. Emily went above and beyond to take care of our cat and we can tell she’s been doing this for a while.

Jenny took wonderful care of our two cats while we were away. She kept us updated throughout the stay and sent plenty of photos, which made it so easy to relax knowing they were happy and well looked after. Communication was excellent from start to finish. We came home to two content cats and a tidy house. Highly recommend Jenny to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter. We’ll definitely book her again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Johnson. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
