“Lisa did a wonderful job dropping in to take care of our two pups. We appreciated all the pictures she sent us throughout the visits. Appreciate all the care she gave and look forward to using her again.”
“You did great! I was so nervous how the new cats would handle us being out of town but I'm happily surprised at how well they did and I'm sure getting good care really helped with that. Thank you!!”

About: I have pet sit dogs of all sizes over the past 12 years. I am happy to walk your dog or play a game of fetch. I'm also happy to check in on them and spend some time giving belly rubs and cuddles when you can't. I work a flexible part time job. I have time weekdays mornings, afternoons, and evenings to drop in for a walk or give some love to your pet. I will come to your house for walks and play sessions. I can crate your dog when I leave if needed. I can be flexible if you have a special request.
“Dear Makayla, thank you so much for taking wonderful care of Christy while we were away. I appreciate your dedication and compassion. I wish you and your family a wonderful new year.”

“Meghan was a life saver! Very last minute my husband was able to go on vacation with us. I called her two days before we needed to leave and she jumped at the chance to help us. She even went above and beyond and noticed that our flowers outside were looking a little rough in the June heat. She messaged me that she would take care of the plants as well. Our cat and our dog loved her, and she took such good care of them while we were away. We will not hesitate to reach out to her again should we need to in the future.”

About: Since my children were young we have always had a dog in the home. Prior to their births we owned a cat but our youngest was allergic. Now as a retired teacher I spend my days with my dogs and helping when needed to watch grandkids, grand dogs and grand kittens. I am looking to help out with your pet as I know how important they are to your family and home. I try to do 1 day a week at my husband's office to help with filing but am available most week days during the day. Feel free to ask and I can let you know if I am available. Having my own pets, I know it's important to keep the structure and habits you have created with them. Let me help by continuing how you wish your pets to be treated
About: I’m an active student home for the summer who loves dogs, cats, and animals of all kinds! I grew up with dogs and have been caring for pets since I was 10 years old. Spending time with animals has always been one of my favorite things, and pet sitting is a wonderful way for me to do something I genuinely enjoy while helping owners feel confident their pets are in great hands. I bring patience, compassion, and attentiveness to every animal I care for. I have experience with puppies, including basic training and housebreaking, and I take a gentle, calm approach with senior pets to help them feel comfortable and secure. I’m also comfortable maintaining routines, administering medications, and adapting to each pet’s unique personality and needs. Reliability, communication, and genuine care are extremely important to me. Whether your pet needs a long walk, playtime, extra snuggles, or simply a dependable companion while you’re away, I’m happy to help. I’m experienced with dogs, cats, and even exotic pets such as chinchillas. And of course, you can expect plenty of photo updates of your furry family member relaxing, playing, and having fun! I am a full time student at Northeastern University, home for the summer! I have a very flexible schedule, and happy to accommodate! Your furry friend will get lots of snuggles and exercise. On nice days, I enjoy going on walks at Marsh Creek and French Creek. I am always willing to explore new areas or dog parks if that is something your dog enjoys! When caring for pets in my clients’ homes, I prioritize safety, comfort, and consistency. I follow each pet’s routine closely, from feeding schedules to exercise, so they feel secure and relaxed. I keep the environment safe by pet-proofing spaces as needed, checking for hazards, and ensuring doors, gates, and enclosures are always secure. My focus is on creating a calm, positive environment where pets feel at ease. I also send regular updates, so owners can see how their pets are doing, building trust and peace of mind throughout my time with them. When going on walks with pets, I ensure they stay safe and engaged by choosing familiar, pet-friendly routes and always keeping them on a secure leash. I’m attentive to their behavior, making sure they’re comfortable, and I avoid any potentially stressful situations. If your dog has any special needs or diets, please let me know so I can be sure to accommodate them and ensure they have the best stay possible!
About: I've had guinea pigs all my life, and I have taken care of my friends and families dogs and cats. Taking care of animals is a huge passion of mine, and I take it very seriously I have a lot of free time on my hands and would be available anytime of the week. If something does come up on my schedule I will let you know. I would prefer to take care of your animals in your own home and would be able to stay over or check in on them as much as you want.
“Amber was super responsive and really helped us out over the holiday weekend. Our cat takes several medications and Amber was able to administer all of them for us. Would definitely book with her again 😊”

About: Ive had animals my entire life and have many years of experience taking caring of them both in home and while working at dog groomers. I treat every animal as if they were my own and can’t wait to love yours! I work virtually full time so I am able to care for your animals needs on a consistent and regular basis throughout the week and weekends. I can crate a dog easily. I can also walk, feed or meet any other needs for the fur baby while watching them at their home

About: I am the ultimate pet lover! I grew up with fish, a hamster, a rabbit, and dogs. In 2008, I adopted 3 puppies of my parents’ dog. They were my kids and my pride and joy! My last pup passed away in January 2024, 2 months shy of his 16th birthday. Since then, I’ve been helping to take care of family pets and am excited to offer walking, feeding, and sitting services for others in the community. I am focusing on finishing my last year as a doctoral student. I’m also an expert at time management! I am available almost everyday of the week. I am detail-oriented, caring, trustworthy, customer service-oriented, and I love animals! I don’t have any direct experience caring for cats, but I have been around them enough to be comfortable with them. I promise to take care of others’ pets like they’re my own.
“Stephen was absolutely wonderful watching Brick and Odie! He went above and beyond, sending us pictures, taking them on a nice walk, and keeping us updated. His communication was excellent, and we could tell our dogs were happy and well cared for. We’re so grateful for his help and look forward to having him watch them again!”
“Jacky took care of our special needs pup. She was more than willing to accommodate requests based on his lack of sight in one eye and related mobile abilities. I feel super comfortable and happy knowing that he gets a visit from her while I’m at work! Highly recommend, your fur baby will be in good hands.”
“Very polite, went out way to speak to my cats to try and get them to come out from under the bed ?. Was descriptive and fast to respond during our vacation when messaging her with any questions or concerns. Overall, solid and would absolutely use again!”

“Kailyn is amazing!! We left our kitties in her care for 9 days, and she took the best care of them! She was very professional and communicated extremely well! There was a snow storm when we were away, and she was great at keeping us updated on road closures and travel difficulties! I would recommend her to anyone who needs their cats or dogs taken care of! We plan on using her services in the future! Our kitties will miss seeing her daily!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,737 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Joanna. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Joanna. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
