“Celia went above and beyond doing a few overnight stays taking care of my senior cat. She is a joy to be around and also cooked us a meal for when we got home. Thank you so much, you are appreciated!”

“We are very picky with our pet sitter since our pets need a little bit of more attention than usual. Charlene was fantastic. She sent regular updates and even picked up our cat’s meds at the vet. Our kids ( we call them kids) were happy and looking healthy when we got home. The house was clean and organized, which is great. We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking a great sitter. We will definitely book her again.”
“Kimberleigh was our guardian angel for a last minute booking. Our tiny puppy loved her and she was so patient with his teething and menacing behavior. Thank you, Kimberleigh, I hope you can watch Rambo again for us in the future.”

“Lily is amazing! Extremely conscientious, followed all instructions to a T, great communication and sent so many photos. And most importantly, the pups loved her. So happy to have found Lily!”

“Ryckie was super sweet and really wonderful with our senior dog, who has terrible arthritis, is a finicky eater, and needs extra attention due to his need to "potty" often. She made sure to keep him company whilst we were out of town, and our home was perfectly cared for. She even switched a day up due to an error on my behalf, and we are so grateful for her flexibility. Highly, highly recommend!”

“We are really excited to have found Daniella. She is very reliable and competent. She did everything we needed plus some. She took care of our 3 dogs and our horse. She sent us lots of pictures and updates. Our dogs are my babies and it makes me anxious to leave them but I could tell in the pictures they were enjoying themselves and happy so I could relax and enjoy myself. We will definitely use Daniella again.”

About: I grew up around dogs when I was younger. About 9 years ago, my kids and I started taking care of friends, and family members, dogs when they go out of town...feeding, walking, letting outside, overnights, giving medicine, etc. We started watching dogs through Rover so my children would gain experience with other puppies and dogs. My kids have done so well caring for others' dogs that I decided they were ready to have a puppy of their own. We welcomed Snowball into our family on 12-18-2021. Snowball has all his shots (NOT neutered) and is ready to make new friends. He has gotten along with all the dogs we've watched on Rover and when meeting other dogs while on walks. My children and I would love to care for your puppy/dog and treat them with love and kindness during their stay with us. We're also available for drop-in visits at your home. Overnights: Friday evenings and Saturdays all day/night. Pick-ups on Sundays are ok. No overnights during the week, unless specified on our calendar. Drop-ins and walks: please message me for availability. Also available certain holidays. Looking forward to caring for your pup. These are a few things about safety in our home while caring for your pup: - We have a fenced in back yard to keep your pup safe while outside. - I can assure you that we will never feed human food to any pup. - We do not allow pups to sleep in the bed with us. Please bring a play-pen or crate for your fur baby to sleep in at night for his/her safety. - We are willing to accommodate requests such as "please don't let my pup on the couch." Just ask and we'll do our best to meet all your pet care needs.

“It really means a lot for me to be able to leave my little room-mate and not have to worry about her when I'm traveling. With Jessie at my home, I never worry when I have to travel somewhere as I know my best friend is being very well cared for! And I love getting an update each day - it really sets my mind at ease.”

“Elizabeth house-sat for us for a few days while we were away and took wonderful care of our fur babies and garden. She was thoughtful, incredibly detail-oriented, and kept us updated with photos throughout our trip. We always felt confident that she was responsive, trustworthy, and attentive to everything at home. It gave us great peace of mind knowing everything was in such capable hands. Thank you, Elizabeth!”

About: "Having grown up around animals all my life, I have a natural instinct for reading a pet's body language and understanding their needs. What sets me apart is my commitment to customized care—I adapt to your pet's specific personality, whether they are playful, shy, or need extra cuddle time. I treat every guest just like a member of my own family." Since I work from home full-time, pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine. My schedule is highly flexible, allowing me to provide constant companionship, frequent bathroom breaks, and playtime whenever needed. I naturally take breaks throughout the day to stretch my legs, which is the perfect time for walks or backyard play. Your pet will essentially be my 'co-worker' and will rarely be left unattended. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. When hosting pets in my home, I ensure the environment is fully pet-proofed, clean, and free of any hazards. Pets are never left unattended, and I always do a slow, supervised introduction if other animals are present. I strictly follow your feeding, crating, and bathroom routines to keep their environment as familiar as possible. If I am caring for your pet in your own home, I respect your space and follow your house rules to the letter. I maintain your security protocols, ensure doors and gates are always locked, and keep a close eye on your pet during walks to avoid any unsafe interactions. No matter the location, I promise to send you daily photo and text updates so you can have complete peace of mind while you are away.
About: Hello! I’ve been house/pet sitting for around 5 years now. I have experience with a variety of animals at all stages of life. I will follow your directions to the letter and care for your babies as if they were my own. I have had pets since I was five until recently. I currently am looking to add clients for pet care. Let’s chat and see if we mesh! I currently do gigs, mostly pet sitting, right now for income. So thats where my focus is these days! I take daily walks and would be sure to bring your baby with me! I am getting into grooming to add as a service to my clients. Currently I do not have any pets myself. My parents do have a dog and when I am there I take him out for walks and runs, brush him, love on him. I would follow your directions as to how to care for the baby animals.

I’m comfortable feeding, walking, playing with, and giving lots of attention to dogs/cats of different sizes and personalities. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me to check in on, care for, and spend time with their pets. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive to each animal’s unique needs. I understand how important pets are to a family, and I treat every animal like my own. Because I’m currently taking online classes, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets more attention throughout the day. I’m available on weekdays and weekends and can accommodate morning, afternoon, or evening visits. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I make sure each pet gets dedicated time, exercise, and attention. I’m reliable, responsive, and happy to send regular updates and photos so you always feel connected while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. In a client’s home, I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, routines, medications, and house rules. I respect your space and keep everything clean and secure. I make sure doors and gates are properly closed, pets are supervised during walks or playtime, and any special needs are handled with care. I create a calm, positive environment so pets feel safe and loved while you’re away.
About: I am a registered nurse working mostly night shifts. That means I'm off during the day! I can do overnights if needed. It also means I know how to handle dirty situations. I'd love to walk your furry dog. I grew up with two to three dogs in the house. I do not have a dog here in California so i'm missing hanging out with dogs! I am comfortable with all sizes and breeds. Let me take care of your animal while at work, on vacation, or otherwise. Im super responsible, punctual, and have reliable transportation. I can take the dog on a hike, crab digging on the beach, or an easy walk in the neighborhood. Let me know the dog needs and i'll be right there!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 508 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Jenny Lind. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Jenny Lind walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Jenny Lind maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Jenny Lind choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jenny Lind. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
