“Christy is the best dog sitter I have ever had. Our dog is very old and needy. She was so sweet with him and sent me pics all weekend of things he was doing. She kept me updated on how he was eating and taking his meds because I was worried he wouldn't do either while we were gone. I’m so thankful I found her and I have already booked another pet sitting appointment with her. Hire her, you wont be disappointed!”

“Thomas did a great job with Jojo. She instantly took to him and they bonded quickly. Thomas had a great level of communication and definitely made sure my little girl was taken care of.”

“From our very first interaction, Anastasia was exceptionally friendly, prompt, and easy to communicate with. She happily agreed to a meet-and-greet before the job, taking the time to get to know our fur babies and ask thoughtful questions. She followed all our care instructions to the T and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Anastasia kept us updated with regular photo check-ins, and our two dogs looked genuinely thrilled and on cloud nine in every single picture. Her warmth and attentiveness made all the difference, and we will definitely be booking her again. You won't regret hiring her! Thanks so very much Anastasia for your loving and caring service.”

“All I can say is Gad is awesome.we just completed a two week trip and Gad took care of our fur babies while we were gone . Our dogs loved him and he spent a lot of time with them. They are both senior dogs and need a lot of care . Pills twice a day etc… and Gad went over and beyond expectations. One of my dogs wasn’t eating for a couple of days and Gad even bought him chicken and grilled it on the grill for him . Well needless to say my dog ate . Gad is very respectful and very responsible. I would highly recommended Gad .”

“We booked Madison to stay in our house and watch our two Australian Shepherds for the weekend. She was amazing. She sent picture updates and left our house spotless. When we came back both our dogs were exhausted so she must have played with them all weekend. We will definitely book her again!”

About: Hi! My name is Kayla, and I’ve had dogs my entire life, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. I started dog sitting at people’s homes with my cousin when I was just 10 years old, and ever since then I’ve loved helping care for pets and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I’m currently the Executive Assistant at Pawsitively Posh Pet Resort & Spa and the Rescue Coordinator at Pawsitively Posh Pet Rescue, where I work hands-on with animals every day. I also have experience caring for diabetic dogs and understand the importance of routines, medications, and extra attention to their needs. Along with dogs, I’ve also helped care for horses and cows, so I’m comfortable with animals of all sizes. I would love the opportunity to care for your fur baby like they’re one of my own! 🐾 I have very flexible hours and will match your pet’s routine exactly. If you feed at 7–8am, I’ll do the same, and if dinner is at 6–7pm, I’ll follow that schedule too. If your pet needs medication, I’ll stay consistent with your timing as well. I don’t make your pet fit my schedule—I fit yours, so your pet stays comfortable and stress-free I have a safe, fenced yard and dogs of my own, so if your dog is friendly they’ll have a great companion—but if not, that’s completely okay too. I always adjust to your pet’s comfort level and needs, whether that means space, separation, or extra attention. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, relaxed, and truly at home while you’re away.
“Hailey was exceptional!! She was on time, communicative, and extremely respectful. She sent me updates and pictures of my fur baby. I definitely would highly recommend her.”

“First time using Rover, and Jennifer was the best experience I could’ve asked for. Visited Tennessee with my 2 Newfoundlands and decided once we got here we want them to have company while we are out, and Jennifer responded quickly with open availability/flexibility. She came the next day and spent hours with them, and they were comfortable with her from the beginning. Truly the best experience we could’ve asked for, she took great care and just talking with her you can see the passion she has for animals. Thank you so much Jennifer!”

“Our dog felt safe and loved thanks to Jeanie's patience and care, making a stressful few days completely worry-free. We have a very nervous, "delicate" little dog, and we were worried how she would do with a sitter she didnt really know, but Jeanie did a really great job! She was incredibly attentive to Lucy's needs, taking the time to understand her anxieties. Her communication was excellent, she sent regular updates and photos that was reassuring every step of the way. It was clear that she has a genuine love and understanding for animals, and she went above and beyond to make sure lucy was happy and secure. We cannot recommend Jeanie more highly, she is professional, kind and dedicated. If you're looking for someone to treat your pet like family, Jeanie is the perfect choice!”

About: I've taken care of pets for over 14 years. I currently have a 14 year old terrier mix and 9 year old pit bull mix. I'm very familiar with caring for senior dogs and any special needs they might need. I'm very comfortable administering any medication and sticking to a strict schedule because I know how important it is from personal experience. If you're pet has a quirky habit or need, I'm your gal, no request is too odd! I have lots of kisses to give and I love animals of any size! I am available all week and most all weekends. I have on my calendar that I'm unavailable on Sundays but if you are going away on a trip and need me for Sundays, message me and we can work something out! When sitting for your pet and home, I am very respectable and will care for them like my own. I will make sure the home is secure and keep anything away from your pets that could be harmful. I have a calming and friendly personality that I try to radiate whenever meeting new pets to establish a strong connection.

About: I’ve been in rescue for about 6 years now! I’ve fostered over 200 animals, whether it be dogs, puppies, kittens, cats, and even done hospice. About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. I’ve been blessed to love and care for pups of all ages — from energetic puppies who need patience and structure, to sweet senior dogs who need a little extra gentleness and attention. Growing up around dogs taught me more than just the basics of feeding and walking. It taught me how to read their body language, understand their different personalities, and recognize when they need comfort, space, playtime, or reassurance. Every dog is different, and I truly respect that. I know how important it is to trust someone with your fur baby. They’re family. My goal is always to make them feel safe, loved, and at home while you’re away. Whether that means long walks, play sessions, sticking closely to their routine, or just quiet cuddles on the couch, I’m happy to meet them where they are. Your dog won’t just be watched — they’ll be cared for with patience, kindness, and genuine love. As a stay-at-home dog mom, I’m home the majority of the time, which allows me to be fully present and flexible for your fur babies. My schedule is very open, so I’m available most days and times to provide attentive, loving care. Because I’m not juggling a full-time job outside of the home, your pet won’t be left alone and will receive consistent supervision, potty breaks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day. I truly enjoy being home and caring for animals, so pet sitting fits naturally into my daily routine and allows me to give each dog the time, patience, and attention they deserve. 🐶💛 When caring for pets in my home, I focus on creating a calm, safe, and loving environment where they feel comfortable and secure. I follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible — including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walk times, medications, and bedtime habits — because I know consistency helps reduce stress. Pets in my care receive plenty of supervision, affection, playtime, and rest. Since I stay home, they’re rarely left alone and always have someone nearby to make them feel safe and cared for. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect both the pet’s routine and the owner’s space. I make sure feeding instructions, walk schedules, medications, and any special care needs are followed exactly as requested. I keep things tidy, provide regular updates with photos, and make sure your pet feels comfortable in their familiar environment. My goal in either setting is the same — to treat your fur baby like family and give you peace of mind while you’re away.

“We are so happy to have found Sydney. She was able to accommodate a late notice request and was the perfect choice for our fur kids. One of them is a recently adopted rescue, and he is still a challenge on several fronts. She is patient and loving and confident in her interactions with him. It is so nice to have the boys comfortable in their own home while knowing someone is looking after them who cares as much as we do. We will absolutely work with her again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Jearoldstown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Jearoldstown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Jearoldstown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jearoldstown. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
