“Danise was wonderful with our dog Dozer! He has quite a bit of anxiety, so it is hard to have him boarded when we go out of town! We wanted to do a last minute trip out of town for the night, and Danise was happy to help out! She came to our home to see Dozer, sent us updates and pictures, and worked well with his particular needs! We (and Dozer) would love to have Danise come back anytime!”

“Erika is the sweetest, she did a drop in visit with my dogin my home. She was very patient with my dog who is nervous with new people. My dog had thrown up before Erika arrived and she cleaned it up for us. Very trustworthy and reliable. 10/10 will hire again.”

“Loved having this option versus boarding our dog! He was well taken care of and Chelsey gave us updates each time with photos, which our kids loved to see. Very much appreciate the attention and care paid to our dog.”

About: I've lived with cats and worked with dogs my whole life. From bathing my grandma's dog to walking pit bulls at the shelter, animals have always been a part of my life. Over the summer I'm looking for work wherever I can take it but mostly open. In the school year I am usually never gone more than 3 hours. I live in a pet friendly basement apartment with air conditioning. There is space for a kennel and other supplies if needed. It's not gigantic is very clean and the complex has a bark park.
“Kathleen was awesome and communicated with me. I couldn't have asked for a better person I didn't have to worry about anything and during our daughter's wedding it was such a relief Highly recommend”

“Highly recommend! It was obvious from the fabulous photos that Gabriella made my cat feel extremely comfortable and cared for. Her in-depth reports gave me immense peace of mind while I was out of town. Thank you so much!”

“I am a very nervous dogma (the mother of all dogs), and Jennifer S. is officially now included in the Circle of Trust in our family. She’s wonderful! The dogs did very well with her, communication was consistent and high quality. I would not hesitate to reccommend Jennifer to you! ❤️❤️❤️”

“She helped me out last minute, and I was so appreciative for that. My dog loved her, and if I ever need a dog sitter she will be my go to. Very communicative, and overall great! If I could leave 10 stars I would :)”

“Lindsay did great with our doggy while we were away on vacation, keeping us updated on how she was doing and acting and taking photos of her during the in home visits. The photos appeared that she was well taken care of and I appreciated Lindsay’s communication. It’s clear that she cares a lot for animals. Would recommend and use her again!”

About: Good pups are a huge portion of my life. I was raised around animals and cared for others pets while living with family and independently and all of my free time is spent caring for my six pets: Spencer the fish, Yato & Yuki kitties, Tilly & Deku pups, and Peter the rabbit. So anytime to care is a good time to call. I am a small-town girl that loves her family and friends. I live at home with my lovely Basset Hound, Tilly, and her buddies! I would be available during most morning and afternoon hours to provide any pet care you would need. We have a decent and clean home and yard in Waverly that we share in a lovely neighborhood that has welcomed us and our fur babies. We go on walks and play outside with our dogs. Any pet is welcome with us!
About: I have been caring for friend’s and family’s pets for years as well as being a dog owner. I enjoy walks and fun adventures or playing and spending downtime in your home. Whatever your pup prefers! I love and treat every dog just like my own. I am happy and energetic and open for anything. I can’t wait to meet your baby!! I am working part time at a flexible job. My availability will vary, I am open to reoccurring or occasional care. I am open to occasional nights and weekends as well as day time hours. I am open to care in my home. I have two cats who are dog friendly and a small poodle mix who LOVES pup companionship. I have two tweens that adore and would love to love on a pup in our home. I have a fenced in yard and a large kennel if needed. I would also love to come to your house if that is where your pup feels most comfortable. I could hang out for a while or just do occasional drop ins depending on your needs.
About: I have watched my neighbors pets for many years. I have 6 pets of my own. I love being around animals and taking care of them. Everyday I do pet chores and spend time with them all. I feed them in the mornings and the evenings. I clean there environment daily. I take great care of pet and make sure the have a clean environment. I make sure they are fed at specific times every day.
About: I have lived with animals and taken care of them all of my life. As an adolescent, I had several dogs (sizes ranging from a chihuahua to a saint bernard mix) that I would frequently take on walks, clean up after, feed, play with, and overall care for. I also worked with a service dog trainer for about a year to train a dog I had in the past since she was three months old. I will be going to college in August, but until then I am completely free to watch, walk, or visit any furbabies at any time for as long as needed! (Starting May 25th, as I do not move to Cedar Falls until then) My cat is rather spoiled with hundreds of toys, constant access to food, and lots and lots of love. I understand the importance of socializing your animals to new people and other animals, and take it very seriously, hence why he is an absolute cuddlebug for everyone that meets him! I would make sure to give the same amount of care and attention to your pets. Spending as much time as they need to socialize, play, and relax, as every pet is different and has different needs!
“Rachel was GREAT! She was able to help out with our dog at the last minute when we decided to go out of town and couldn't take our dog along! Dozer has a lot of anxiety and doesn't do well with boarding, so having someone who could come into our home and care for him was a perfect solution!!”

About: I have always loved pets. Throughout my entire life, I have had both cats and dogs, and recently my family adopted a gecko from my stepsister. Pets have always been the center of my day, and I always look forward to seeing my little fur-babies, and taking care of them. With this I have been referred to many family friends to extend the love and care I have for my babies onto their babies. I will always take care of your fur-babies as I would my own. I also am very good at giving pets medicine, as I have done it for a few years now. I am a full time college student at UNI, and I love taking care of animals. Being away at college has made me miss my own animals, so I fill that gap by getting to take care and love other animals, and give other families peace of mind while away. I am super open to any environments, whether it be a fenced in yard, or a yard where I will need to leash the pups/kitties up to take them out. I will listen and obey any instructions the client may give, whether it be for respecting the pets, or respecting the house.
About: I have worked in many different aspects of caring for animals, from shelters, to a boarding facility. I also volunteer for an animal shelter. I pet sit for friends often and love to do it!! I am obsessed with animals, ask anybody that knows me!! ☺️ I have at least 8 years experience working with animals. I have also had dogs my whole life, and currently have a sheltie puppy named Rosie. I have mainly worked with large breeds of dogs, but I love all dogs! I also have a passion for cats, and love to analyze their behavior and see why they react versus ‘that was bad.’ Please let me know if you are interested in me helping you and your pets! Thank you!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
