He always has a blast when he goes there, which I’m able to see from the great photos they send me. I love that he has so much fun with such a cool group of dogs! We had an unexpected family crisis this past week, involving me to spend long stays in the emergency room. The one day of daycare I’d scheduled turned out to be a 3-night stay for our dog. Laura and Brian were so incredibly kind and supportive, making accommodations as my ER stay became longer and longer. I appreciate them so much, and am so glad I found them!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all breeds and sizes for over 20 years. Since I was 12 years old, neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and look after their pets. I’m experienced with puppies, adult dogs, and seniors, and I always make sure each dog feels safe, loved, and comfortable. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do—it’s something I truly enjoy. I’m currently taking classes in the mornings, and I spend the rest of the day at home. This gives me plenty of time to care for your pets throughout the week. I’m available for walks, visits, and boarding on weekends, as well as most afternoons and evenings on weekdays. Your pet will always get lots of attention and companionship. About: I’ve had several dogs throughout my life and will probably be getting another one or two within the next year. My main option on here is dog boarding but, depending on the dog boarding schedule, I or somebody else on my team could also be open to do drop ins, house sitting, or walks, especially for those who have already used our boarding services. Please ask about these additional services after a confirmed boarding session. I’m in the middle of taking a few years off from teaching high school because A) Who couldn’t use a break from that? and B) I am focusing on building up a short-term rental business (Airbnb mostly). As an Airbnb host I spend a lot of time at home and have found that one of my favorite things to do is play with dogs in the yard (especially, when there’s more than one of them here at the same time!) and take them on trips to the park. I love dogs and am very reliable, trustworthy, and flexible. I live in a house with a fenced yard and all of the instructions you leave will be followed to keep your little buddy happy & safe! I am home most of the day and when I do leave it's usually only for an hour or two at a time. Most of what I do at home (working on a computer, household chores, yard work) I do in the presence of whatever dogs happen to be staying at that time. One limitation that I do try to stick to is to avoid scheduling drop-offs or pickups on Sundays before 10:00 am. Unfortunately, Rover doesn't give me the option to block off those times without blocking out the entire day so adding this note here is the only way to give you a heads up (hopefully, you read this before booking). I have a fenced yard and usually board 2 or 3 dogs at a time so that they have playmates. If ever I leave the house, dogs are left inside. Dogs that stay here must be up to date on shots as well as on a flea-prevention medication.

About: I have been caring for pets (dogs and cats) since I was 5 years old as both a pet owner and sitter. I understand how difficult it can be to be away from your pet family members and will send regular pics and updates to keep you informed about your pet's well-being while you're away. I have always been passionate about researching and finding effective natural solutions to support pet health and am happy to recommend helpful approaches for your pets specific needs at your request. I also have lots of senior dog care experience, and am comfortable administering most meds that don't involve needles. My beloved senior dog with special needs (lost use of hind legs among other things) recently passed away and I miss him but am so thankful for the time we had. I learned a lot about using natural remedies to support senior dog health from him and also learned to walk him with support for his hind end. I am currently able to provide drop in visits for pets in the Mountain Glen I community in Sylmar at this time. I can board too, but only for pets I know and have worked with previously. I always look for and implement practices that will create a safe, peaceful, healthy and nurturing environment for pets in my home and only board pets from the same home at the same time. Boarding and day-care are only available for pets I know and have worked with previously.

About: I’m an animal rights activist, a vegan, and an environmentalist, so I’m always fighting for the animals, wild or domestic! We had all sorts of animals while I was growing up, including cats and dogs. We started with cats and two beagles, and after the beagles' passing, we adopted the sweetest schnoodle (schnauzer-poodle) on the planet! Long story short, after my sister and I moved out, my parents ended up with two more dogs and trusted only one person (other than my sister) to look after all three dogs when they (my folks) would go on trips: me. We continued to have cats and other animals during that time. My parents are down to two dogs now, but that's been one of my jobs for the last several years, in addition to looking after friends' dogs. I've also volunteered at a couple of shelters as a cat socializer and cat/kitten foster parent. During that time, I completed a "Fear Free Shelter" course and understand the signs of distressed dogs and cats and how to reduce their stress (one spoiler: classical music for dogs). I’m also certified in canine and feline first aid/CPR. Anyway, I love doing drop-in visits and dog walking and am happy to offer my home as a daycare. I love seeing animals in the comfort of their own homes and letting dogs explore my backyard. I'm currently funemployed, so I have time to do drop-in visits, dog walking, and doggy daycare most days. Dogs staying with me for the day would have access to our fenced backyard. If you need only dog-walking or drop-in sittings, then I can usually start after 10a. For doggy daycare, I’ll be sure to provide the stability and boundaries your fur baby needs. Your dog is welcome on the couch during the day, and we have a heated and air conditioned home during the hot and cold months. If I'm in your home, such as for drop-in visits, I'll use Rover Cards to let you know when I arrive, document how things went while I was there (with photos), and let you know when I head out. It would also help me tremendously if you could provide written instructions on Rover ahead of time. My goal is to provide all of the comfort your honey needs while you’re away. (I've been that anxious pet guardian myself, so I get it!)
