About: I’ve been an animal lover since I can remember! But when my uncle asked me to house and dog sit for a few weeks over the summer, my love for dogs only grew fonder. We spent time on long and short walks, playing in the garden and building a strong connection. I’m currently on summer holidays from college and I was looking for something fulfilling to fill my time. I’m fully flexible right now and when I go back to college, I would love to dog walk to break up my study periods and to help me get outside more! I’m very attentive and will ensure that your dog is taken care of under my watch! I’ll make sure that their needs are fully met and that both me and your dog have a great time!

About: I have hands-on experience caring for my own Labrador, Riley, who is 12 months old. I’m very comfortable with the day-to-day needs of a young, energetic dog, including walks, feeding, playtime, training, enrichment and plenty of cuddles. Riley has also given me experience with positive-reinforcement training, particularly lead walking, recall, basic commands and helping a young dog learn to stay calm around distractions. I’m comfortable managing different energy levels and making sure dogs get plenty of exercise while also having time to relax. I love being around dogs and would treat every dog in my care with the same patience, attention and affection that I give Riley. I work from home, so I’m around for most of the day and can give your dog plenty of attention, company and regular breaks. I’m happy to fit walks, playtime and rest around your dog’s usual routine, and I’m flexible with their individual needs. I have a secure, fenced garden where dogs can safely enjoy some outdoor time. I have my own friendly Labrador, Riley, who loves having doggy company and playing with other dogs. I don’t currently use a crate, but I have crate-trained Riley so I’m very comfortable following a dog’s existing crate routine if they’re used to one. I’ll always follow your instructions and make sure your dog feels comfortable and settled while staying with me.

About: I am an animal lover and I'm not afraid to admit that my dog is my best friend. I enjoy the outdoors and with an energetic Jack Russell who loves his walks and spins in the car are a must. Dogs give us nothing but love so the least I can do is show them love & care when they stay in my home. I live with my semi retired uncle who loves having the company of a dog in the house and I also rent a room to students so the dogs staying with me will never be on their own too long. I have a front garden & enclosed back garden. I also live close to walkways so they will have plenty of exercise. I run a calm and comfortable house. Dogs in my care can come to relax and chill out or play and run around with my little terrier. I give the dogs the run of the downstairs areas of my home so they will not be confined to small spaces or just one room.

“Thanks to Erin for looking after Bailey so beautifully. I left a few instructions for Erin on Baileys care and she followed every one, he is not the best of eaters and he even put on a little weight which is great. I would highly recommend Erin for pet sitting and hope to get her to sit again in the future :)”

About: Hey there! My name is Ciana, 28, and I'm both experienced and qualified with animals. I have obtained a level 6 QQI in Canine Training & Obedience, Canine Training Instruction, and also worked as a stable hand for many years caring for horses, dogs, and farm animals. Through my work in a stable I've obtained standard qualifications in animal First Aid and Red Cross (just in case!) I absolutely adore dogs and cats and am constantly surrounded by them, and friends who are out of town frequently leave their animals in my company, and I'm glad to have them! 🐶 I only do sitting when I am totally available! So your dog will never be on their own, and as such can enjoy their time with me without having to be alone in an unfamiliar environment 😊 Your dog will be staying in a lovely safe estate with many green spaces, and will be walked along the scenic greenway running from Passagewest to Monkstown or Mahon. I have a fenced in garden so they will have the freedom to explore off-leash, and no part of my house is off limits 😊

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Carrignavar

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Sitting in Carrignavar on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per Visit (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting.

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or toilet breaks occurred, for doggy day care, home visits, and dog walking services. You can also message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available by email or chat if you have concerns.

Of course! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Carrignavar pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.

Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.

For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Carrignavar choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
