“Emily did a great job! I got pics and updates every day, she sat with the dogs through 4th of July (never fun) and she left the house cleaner than I left it for her (embarrassing, but very nice).”

About: I love dogs but I currently can't afford to care for one of my own considering pet deposit, food, and etc. Having a dog in the house makes things overall better. I have been dogsitting/house-sitting for multiple years to fill that hole. I also love to take a lot of walks to stay in shape and having a curious little four-legged friend to accompany me makes them that much more enjoyable. I currently only work part-time so I have plenty of free time and go to the park and on walks. But, if your dog just likes to hang out indoors and watch TV, I'm cool with that as well. I live in a duplex with a nice fenced in backyard for running around in.
“Katie is the BEST. My dog is a special needs, 17 year old anxious dachshund. He’s near the end of his life and I don’t want him to be alone. Even though she had other plans when I first requested her, she continued checking to see if I had found anyone. She called around trying to help me find someone who could sit ALL day, which is a challenge in its self. When I wasn’t able to find someone, she gave up her plans to be with my Bailey. I’m so protective and nervous to leave anyone with him but myself. Well, Katie was able to calm him, reassure his fears that he was safe. She found ways to calm him during a panic attack, which I’d never tried before.. She is resourceful to address unexpected needs. and attentive to all his special needs, including diapers. Most people would not take on this job. I say this to show her dedication and passion to help people and their beloved pets. She sends pictures and videos. An added bonus. She is great at catching really good photos of your pet. Check out her posted photos. she stayed in touch with me throughout the day. Which gave me the peace and assurance I needed. Most important, she was able and willing to work with all my challenging fears, doubts of leaving my dog, and the many times I changed my mind, and scheduled times etc. She stuck with me and helped me get thru the day. Thank you Katie ***** If Rover reads this review, as I’ve learned you do,?? please better clarify your “HomeSitting” category option. It’s does not specify hours that will be provided for the price listed. Nor does it included any category that addresses special need pets that need Basic hone care sitters. Some just need company all day to protect themselves from harm. Some are blind, deaf, need extra potty break, diapers, hourly feedings, medicine giving, bathing after diaper changer etc. pet parents need a category that’s reasonably priced for pet parents, yet worth while for the Rover sitter. High hourly rates are too high for the amount of hours needed on a regular bases, on top of all the expense special needs parents also are struggling with. Hope you’ll create this new category and fair pricing gir both sides. Most sitters don’t know the extent of care they are accepting the way it is now. This is causing conflicts between Sitters and Parents and what each party expects People like Katie are rare to come upon. She is what keeps Rover in Business,”
“As this was only the second time leaving my dog with someone else, I was understandably anxious. However, Deborah's attentiveness to my dog's needs made all the difference. She kept me updated on how my dog was adjusting, sharing uodates and photos. The fact that Deborah even offered to pick up and drop off my dog at my house was above and beyond what I expected. Her dedication and kindness truly made this experience fantastic. I can't recommend her enough!”

About: For the past 8 years, neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me to care for their pets — from energetic puppies to senior companions, as well as cats, parrots, and fish. I’ve cared for pets of all breeds, shapes, and sizes, handling everything from walks, feeding, bathing, and playtime to litter cleaning and providing attentive companionship. Through this hands-on experience, I’ve learned how to adapt to each pet’s unique personality and needs, whether that means keeping up with a playful pup’s energy or providing gentle, patient care for older pets. Beyond meeting their daily needs, I focus on building trust and creating a safe, loving, and comfortable environment so every pet feels at home while you’re away. My dedication, reliability, and genuine love for animals shine through in the care I provide. When you book with me, you’re choosing someone who will treat your pet like family and give them the personalized attention they deserve. View my calendar to find dates that align with your schedule and needs. My availability is very clear! Leaving more than enough time for me to visit and cater to your pet's needs. I currently have completely open availability in my schedule. I am open to visits, walks, house sittings, or overnight stays. I have a fenced backyard where your fur baby will have ample space to roam. I am also more than willing to visit clients' homes.
About: I work full time as a lead emergency veterinary technician. Love spending time with all animals from puppies, seniors all the way to being there for end of life care. Available for in home boardings, mine or yours. Cuddle and play time are important so I make sure I spend as much time with your baby so they are stress feee and comfortable. I have a fenced in yard. All animals allowed on the furniture. I want it to feel like they are home when they are here.

About: Throughout my life, I have always been drawn to animals. I have grown up interacting with dogs, cats, horses, cows, chickens, and more. In 2016, my family dog, Cayson, entered my life. Through caring for him, my love for animals intensified, as well as my caretaking skills. In my career, I am a caregiver, and that definitely spills over into how I take care of animals: with love, understanding, and care. I am currently working part-time as a CNA, so my weeks are relatively flexible. I have reliable transportation and I’m willing to travel to best accommodate owners. I care for any and all pets through asking the owner very thorough questions, paying attention to detail, and extending the same love and care I have for my own pet onto them.
“Olivia did a wonderful job keeping my dog and housesitting for a few days. She gave lots of great updates and sent photos too. It was such a relief to know my pup and my home were in good hands.”

“Kayla was absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of my two cats, sent me adorable pictures and videos while I was away, and made me feel completely at ease. She’s dependable, kind, and treated my boys like her own. I came home to happy, well-fed cats and everything perfectly in order. I truly appreciate her reliability and the love she shows for animals. I’ll definitely be booking her again — highly recommend Kayla to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter! ❤️🐾”

About: Although my profile is new to Rover, I am well versed in the experience for years. My mother has been a Rover sitter since I was a child and I have much experience with her going to help at clients houses. I have experience with dogs of all ages from birth to end of life, as well as cats. I am an avid animal lover and owner of exotic pets as well. I grew up on a homestead and have experience with many types of pets including livestock! Dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, rodents, birds, insects and invertebrates, I have experience with them all. I grew up with 10 dogs! My schedule is very open. I am currently post bachelors taking a break from school, as well as pursuing my degrees in Art and Anthropology. I have flexibility in my schedule to meet your needs, and I love to have detailed communication to make sure that we are always on the same page. As a sitter I am prepared to follow your pet's schedule and specific needs to keep them as comfortable and happy as possible while you are away. I would want to meet you and your pets beforehand to make sure I have a clear grasp on their schedule and needs and follow them precisely. I am very detailed when it comes to directions for my own pets so I am prepared to give your babies the same care I want for mine. I have so much in depth experience with dogs growing up on a homestead, and many of those experiences involved emergencies. I know what signs to look for to make sure your dog is safe and healthy, and will always err on the side of complete caution. I have a strong respect for safety and health and want your dog to not only be taken care of but observed in depth to make sure they are getting everything they need from me. I hope to leave every client better connected with their dogs.
“Carolina was amazing with my pup Riley. He is 15 years old and requires a lot of extra care, including strict medication schedules, timed feedings, and regular walks. He isn’t the easiest dog to look after, but Carolina was attentive, reliable, and very hands-on with his care. She sent frequent photo updates and kept me consistently informed, which gave me so much peace of mind. As an older chihuahua, Riley can be a little grumpy (okay, sometimes mean), but Carolina was completely unfazed and handled him with so much patience and gentleness. I felt totally comfortable knowing he was in such good hands. She is a wonderful sitter, and I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation.”

“Andrew is a very conscientious sitter and we recommend him to anyone. He stayed with our very young toy maltipoo for an evening in our home. Our dog immediately loved him, and ran to the window and cried when he left. From my experience and reading his other reviews, he seems to have a natural way with animals. We will absolutely hire him again in the future.”

“Adrian did a great job caring for my dog. We were able to meet before my weekend away and by the time my trip came up I confidence that everything was going to go great. He sent picture updates and was very quick to respond. Looking forward to working with Adrian again in the future!”

“Elizabeth did a great job taking care of my two boys! She communicated well and sent pictures, which gave me great peace of mind! Will definitely book with her again!”

“Scarlett was great with our shy pup! She showed patience and was very caring towards Pearl. She was very communicative and sent pics and updates regularly. Added bonus, she was a great house guest! Pearl warmed up to her quickly and we would definitely book her again!”

“Louisa did an amazing job! I have a kitty with special care/feeding instructions that require attention to detail that she followed perfectly. She also took great care of my home and provided updates on everything as I away. I could tell she genuinely cares about animals just from our initial meet & greet too. I always get so nervous leaving my cat when I go on trips but Louisa absolutely earned my trust and I will be booking with her again in the future for sure as long as she’s still pet sitting. Thank you so much again :)”

FAQs for House Sitting - Iamonia
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 320 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Iamonia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Iamonia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Iamonia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Iamonia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Iamonia. On Rover:
- 86% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
