“Sherri was amazing! She went above and beyond for the week we needed her! One of our pups is delicate and needed extra care. She took such good care of them both. Even made bone broth for them which they love! She had visits with my mother who is 91 and also lives on the property. This was nice for mom to know someone was there if she needed help. We received frequent messages and pictures of the pups. We came home to a spotless house and two very happy dogs. I highly recommend Sherri to pet sit. She even fed the fish! She is a good person and will love your pets well. You will not have a worry.”

“Jessica always takes good care of my boys Bennie and Maxx. They are both on meds and she always makes sure they get their dose when needed. She is dependable and my boys look forward to her visits.”

“It's so nice to be able to take off on a trip without worrying -- Denise is great with dogs and keeps us updated with photos. She takes great care of the house and potted plants, too! Thanks, Denise!”

“Sarah did an amazing job taking care of our dogs, being present and playing with them and keeping us updated! We are so happy that our dogs are happy and safe and would definitely rebook!”

“They did a great job looking after my sweet boy while I was out of town, I would definitely recommend them. They stayed in contact and gave me regular updates, which really put me at ease about the whole thing. My boy has separation anxiety so I was worried, but he was absolutely fine with his new friends.”

“Julia took great care of my cat and dog. When my dog had a minor injury (not her fault) she was communicative and professional in handling it and keeping me informed. Would book again.”

About: I started as a little kid taking care of my family dogs.As I got older I watched my grandparents dogs over night. Now I have dog name Daisy "Animals aren't just a job for me – they're my entire world! Every day is an adventure filled with wagging tails, purring companions, and the joy of understanding what makes our furry friends tick. My home is often buzzing with happy pets, and I truly believe that living alongside them teaches us so much. This daily immersion in the world of pets means I bring not just experience, but a deep, personal understanding and endless patience to every animal I care for." "When I'm caring for your pets in your home, their safety and well-being are my absolute top priorities. I'm meticulous about following your specific instructions, maintaining routines, and ensuring a secure and comfortable environment for your furry family members. You can trust me to treat your home with the utmost respect and to provide vigilant, loving care so you can have complete peace of mind while you're away."
“Lillian was wonderful! Our dogs were very happy and comfortable in her care. She communicated with us consistently throughout the entire stay and followed all of our instructions perfectly. She also went above and beyond by cleaning up and washing the linens before leaving. It was such a thoughtful touch, and we truly appreciated coming home to a clean house. We would absolutely hire Lillian again and highly recommend her!”

“Gayle was great! Stayed with my senior dog for several days. Sent regular updates and left my apartment cleaner than it was when I left! She will be a great sitter for your baby!”

“We are so thankful for Brylee! Communication was great while we were away and our dog Buddy seemed so so happy when we got back home from our weekend trip; hoping to book Brylee again in the future.”

About: Hello! My name is Jordan and I'm looking to pet sit for you and your loved ones. I've cared for puppies and elderly dogs, shy and outgoing dogs, and dogs of all breeds and needs. No matter the type of dog(s) you have, I look forward to befriending and caring for them! I make sure to listen to your dog’s body language to see what they are asking for. Their tails, eyes, and body is their way of communicating their needs, wants, and feelings. Alongside their body language, I'll also follow any directions and make sure they feel safe and content by replicating their usual schedule. I don't mind taking care of chores around the house, like watering your plants or checking the mail. I will also make sure to send lots of pictures, videos, and updates to keep your heart at ease. A little about me: I am a 25 year old digital artist and a graduate from Kennesaw State University. I lived in Georgia all of my life until I moved here in 2024 with my partner. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, playing video games, reading, and baking. I’m thankful to say that pet sitting is currently my full time job! I’ve had lots of luck as a cat sitter on Meowtel and would like to expand my services to this platform, too. I usually plan my days around my clients’ schedules, meaning I can take care of your pet at any time. The safety and comfort of your loved ones are a priority of mine, so I try to stick to their usual schedule. Whether that means feeding times that come early in the morning or in the middle of rush hour! I’ve got you and your furry friend’s back. I always prioritize safety and trust when it comes to animals. Animals are very sensitive to change, especially because we can’t communicate to them what’s going on (not yet, at least.) For that reason, I try to bring in a positive and calm attitude, letting your pet decide what they are comfortable with and making sure they know I’m not a threat. I do this by moving confidently, but not quickly. I don’t make loud noises and I make sure your pet knows where I am. It’s important to me that they don’t think I’m trying to sneak around and to make sure they feel included with whatever I’m doing around their own environment. I give them space and don’t try to force any affection from them. If they want pets, I trust they will ask for them!
About: I have taken care of my own and others pets for 50+ years. I have 3 indoor dogs of my own and have become the official ball thrower to the smallest of my pets because she loves to play fetch. I also care for the Hummingbirds yearly that visit my yard from March till September. I have a full time job but can feed, walk and care for your pets needs after 5 on weekdays and all weekend beginning at 5 on Friday evening. I will care for your pets with as much love as I do my own. Pets are our family and need to be treated and loved as we would our own. I will honor all likes, food choices and instructions given regarding the animals in your home.
About: I work from home and I have a flexible schedule that allows me to walk, play, and engage with dogs throughout the day. I spend half the year traveling and half the year visiting family in Austin, Texas. One downside of my travel schedule is it doesn't allow me to have my own dog. So, I'm seeking canine companionship. I prefer dog sitting + house sitting arrangements and have done many of these for friends and family over the years but none via Rover so far. I work from home and I have a flexible schedule. This allows me to walk, play, and engage with dogs throughout the day. I only work 4-5 hours per day, so I have lots of spare time to give them the attention they need. In the morning, before I start work, I have a few hours to walk the dogs, feed them, engage in play time, or whatever their routine requires. I get up at 6-6:30am and typically work from 8:30am to 12:30pm. But I periodically take breaks and can attend to the dogs if they need to potty or a belly rub. In the afternoon, I can take them on a longer walk or an outing to the park to play fetch or interact with other dogs. Again, it depends on what your dog enjoys. If your dog would rather chill at a cafe and people watch, we can do that too. At some point in the afternoon, I typically go to the gym or run errands for 1-2 hours. This is the only time your dog would be home alone 95% of days. I'm very routined. In the evening, I prefer to cook a healthy dinner and relax by reading or watching a movie. If I've done my job, your dogs should be pretty tired and just want to enjoy a calm evening. But for more energetic dogs, there's ample time for an additional dog walk or play session before winding down. I'm in bed by 9pm, so my sleep schedule aligns well with most dogs. There is very little variation in this routine, except that I have more free time in the mornings on the weekend. Dogs really seem to thrive with consistency and I do too. I'm very health conscious. I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. I walk and workout everyday. I live a low stress lifestyle. And, I enjoy being at home. So your dogs will have a calm and attentive presence. They won't be left alone more than 1-2 hours per day and many days they won't be left alone at all. Whether they're at home or on an outing, they will have a guardian who is always aware of the surroundings and will keep them safe.

“Emily was amazing! So communicative and plenty of updates and pictures. She kept the house clean too! Would book her again and recommend. Our dogs seem like they had a wonderful weekend with her.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover based in Granite Shoals near Marble Falls, and I’m happy to travel within an hour of the Austin area to care for your pup. I’ve had dogs my entire life and truly believe they’re family—not just pets. I currently share my home with Josie, my sweet 10-year-old Pug, and Bella, my energetic 2-year-old rescue Pit mix. Having dogs at very different life stages has given me experience with everything from senior care and slower-paced walks to playful energy and enrichment. Over the years, I’ve regularly helped friends care for their dogs—whether that meant walks, feeding, playtime, or simply keeping them company while their humans were away. I pride myself on being reliable, attentive, and genuinely loving toward every dog I meet. I live a healthy, active lifestyle and enjoy trail walks and neighborhood strolls, always tailoring activity levels to each dog’s needs, age, and personality. Your pup’s safety, happiness, and comfort are always my top priorities, and I’ll care for them as if they were my own. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your dog—feel free to reach out with any questions! My full time job is mostly remotely, which gives me the flexibility to plan my day around a pet’s needs. This allows me to provide regular walks, meals, playtime, and attention throughout the day. I prioritize safety, trust, and consistency. I follow each pet’s routine closely, ensure secure environments and safe walks, and treat both pets and homes with care and respect.
“Absolutely outstanding experience! Kate cared for our dogs and cat and also watched our home, and she exceeded expectations in every way. Communication was excellent from start to finish, with thoughtful updates and daily photos that gave us total peace of mind. Our pets were clearly happy, relaxed, and well cared for. On top of that, she left our home spotless, which was such a great surprise to come back to. It genuinely felt like our home and pets were treated with the same care and attention she would give her own. If you are even considering hiring Kate, do it immediately! We will absolutely book Kate again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional sitter.”

“We could not have asked for a better person to stay at our home and care for our “kids”. Bella and Opie were both so comfortable with Robin from first visit. We received daily pictures and videos of them and could see they were very happy and being taken care of. Not only did Robin care for our pets as her own, she also cared for our home as her own. There were so issues with our AC unit and she handled it, including having a repair technician come in. Cannot recommend her enough and we will 100% be using her again in the future!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hye walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hye maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hye choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
