Lizzie was amazing with our 2 beagles that don't like to be left alone! She came the day before to meet the pups and got along great with them. She was prompt and reliable. We were only gone a few hours but when our appointment ran a little over, Lizzie was very accommodating. I would highly recommend Lizzie to anyone in need of pet care services!

Hannah is a gem and I know I am blessed immensely to have found her. Hannah is trustworthy, caring, and has an almost mystical way with animals. She came to watch my two dogs and three cats with very little notice, allowing me to attend to an urgent family matter. Even with the short notice, Hannah came to meet everyone to make the situation as gentle as possible. All three of my very shy and wary cats came out of hiding right away, the shyest of whom approached Hannah for a pet! My elder dog (13 years old) has lost most of his vision and normally barks at new people, yet he was calm and happily "woo-wooo!"-ing the moment he met Hannah. My anxiety on leaving and what I was facing was greatly alleviated as I knew all of my furry family members were receiving exemplary care. Additionally, Hannah has a great foundational knowledge of animal behavior. As I said, Hannah is a gem, and I recommend her with the highest of respect and regard.

About: Hi, I am Khloey! Currently setting my home up to be running a dog training program. I would love to take advantage of this time to get to know the animals and owners in my surrounding and hopefully build a great list of regulars! I have owned dogs my entire life from puppies to older doggos and a wide variety of breeds and behaviors. Currently I own a great Pyrenese mix and an American staffy of my own. My dogs are very well trained and our yard has two compartments so the dogs will not interact if that is what you would like. We allow dogs in our home and provide a nice quiet space for them to relax and unwind out of the heat. I hope to see your pups soon thank you for stopping by! At the moment my life consists of going on walks with my children to get out of the house and get some exercise. I would love to transform this into something to help promote happier and healthier dogs in my area. Being home everyday makes me a great candidate to ensure your best friend is safe and sound even when you’re busy! A day in my house as a dog: released from kennel to the yard to have a morning romp around the nice fenced in yard. Having a great drink of water as I pass the auto watering station. (Depending on instructions) a morning feed and rest in the sun for roughly an hour then some interactive play and enrichment (time frame is dependent on weather conditions). Once your doggo is tired and ready to take a long nap we head inside where doggos usually lay in the open baby gate area (also compatible for large and XL dogs) or the kennel whichever they prefer. Roughly 1-2 hours later potty break and time outside durning this time is when I would bathe your puppy if requested. After a lovely bath a 15-30 min walk and enrichment. Once returned home the night time routine begins with a good romp around the yard, enrichment and then quiet time with dinner. One last potty break before bed and that’s a day as your pup in our home. Thank you for trusting me in caring for your pup!

I am making it my life long goal to truly understand animal behavior and psychology. I am a part time employee with many hours in my day to day life to care for your animals. I have animals of my own and expect the best for them. I ensure to prioritize your pets like they are my own. I care for all pets in a kind, compassionate, and nurturing manner. About: Animals have always brought me a lot of joy. I grew up with and have taken care of dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, birds, horses, reptiles, and amphibians, so I am well acquainted with many types of creatures! I have cared for newborn kittens, as well as senior dogs and cats. Due to my background as a veterinary technician and wildlife caretaker, I am very comfortable with animals who require medical care or have higher needs in general. I am familiar with giving medications, shots, cleaning and grooming, and overall behavior indicators of well-being. I also assisted in surgeries, where I prepped the supplies, took vitals, and monitored the pet's health while under anesthesia. While I hope no family has to endure the challenges that comes with an ill or elderly pet, it does happen. Whether you are planning a trip away or just need some assistance, I would be happy to care for your fur baby and hope to meet them soon. I currently have a cat and three chickens who I love a lot. So unfortunately, I cannot board any pets at my home. I have a remote job, so am flexible with home stays, walks, feeding schedules, and anything else to keep your friend happy. I always first consider the pets' and my safety. In my own home, I have spent the last 4 years helping my cat overcome her traumatic past through patience and routine. I give her lots of treats and mental stimulation, such as finding new items for her to bat around and sit on. We also have chickens, which have a fully fenced backyard so they can roam. I also love spoiling them with watermelon, apples, and mealworms!

About: I am a former dog trainer at Dog Gone Amazing training and boarding in Reno Nv for the past 4 and half years. I moved to Eureka to have a new start and would love to continue to work with animals. I’ve worked with many different breeds and many different temperaments. I currently have two dogs of my own and a cat as well. I’ve grown up with all sorts of animals, such a horses, chickens, sled dogs and cats. I would love to continue working with new pets and their owners! I currently have 2 dogs and a cat. I’ve also worked as a kennel tech at a boarding/training facility and then moved on to become a trainer at that same facility. I always recommend crates for any situation but in my own home I would crate all dogs and rotate based on how they all get along. Feeding in the crate or separate from other animals. Daily walks or hikes depending on the animal. Cats would get daily enrichment. If weather doesn’t permit or the animal isn’t able to get that day I’d offer mental enrichment such as lick mats, food puzzles, play, training, etc.

About: I have been a pet and house sitter for the majority of my life. I truly enjoy spending time with your animals and making sure they are happy and healthy while you are away. This can include anything from daily snuggles on the couch, to walks around the neighborhood, play time in the back yard, or chasing lasers around inside. I have sat for a variety of animals, but prefer to stick with dogs and cats, but if you have other types of pets we can negotiate. I do not do well with giving shots but can handle a medication schedule if needed for senior or special needs animals. I am currently a remote student working on a bachelor's degree. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to be gone from my home so I can come care for yours and your pets. I am trustworthy, quiet, dependable, reliable, and love animals. As I already have pets at home, I do not offer my own in-home care. So, it would be best for me to come to you.

About: I've been looking after dogs since I was a kid. I've always had dogs, I've worked for vets and for pet supply stores, and one side of my family is littered with vets and farm type folks. I have a ton of experience with all sorts of animals, but I love dogs the most. Right now I'm not doing anything else that requires me to be anywhere at any particular time, so I am incredibly flexible as far as scheduling goes. I live in an apartment with my 35 pound wonder mutt named Puck, and we're not allowed to have any animal guests, but I am more than willing to come to your place and follow your rules. Puck can also be left with a sitter if his presence would be an issue. I follow your directions and I care for your pets and your home as instructed. I am a fairly fastidious person. I believe in returning your place and your pets to you in at least as good a condition as I find them.

Lizzie did a good job taking care of our three dogs for an overnight stay! She took good care of them and everything was clean and tidy when we came home. She kept us updated on their status throughout the day. She gave our littlest dog her medicine twice and kept them all comfortable. She had to clean up a mess in the morning made by the dogs, and she did a great job! We really appreciated her efforts at keeping our dogs safe!

FAQs for House Sitting - Hydesville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Hydesville on Rover is $64.94 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 162 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hydesville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hydesville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hydesville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hydesville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
