“This was our first experience with Cheyenne. She & her family are lovely people. They have an amazing fenced in backyard that our dogs thoroughly enjoyed. They were understanding and provided the dog bowls that I forgot to provide for our dogs thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely ask them to care for our pets the next time we have to be out of town.”

“Brenda did a fantastic job keeping our 'baby' safe and happy! She kept us supplied with pictures showing Ezzie enjoying her surroundings and new friends. We would recommend Brenda for everyone wanting to go on vacation knowing that their animal is going to have as good of a time (probably better!) than they do in a caring, safe environment.”

“Kari and her family are so wonderful! They took such a great care of our baby while we were traveling for a while. Kari is also very accommodating. We are so thankful that we found Kari and her family as caregivers for Tofu.”

“All of Jody’s reviews live up to the hype! I was so worried about someone new watching my dog with separation anxiety, but he didn’t even want to leave! My dogs love Jody, and I see why. She truly cares about the quality of their stay. Thank you so much Jody!”

“This family was a delight to work with and they were so loving with my dog. They would have happily kept him forever but I couldn’t part with him. It was a huge relief to board him in a location where he received personal attention and lots of play time.”
“Alliyah watched my two whippet boys for an overnight trip and everything went very smoothly. She sent regular updates and photos throughout the stay, which really put my mind at ease. My dogs were clearly comfortable and happy with her. Alliyah is friendly, professional, and follows instructions carefully. Your dogs are in great hands with her!”

“Layna was a great sitter for my dog. He is still young and active, and he came home ready for a restful evening after quick run around home. Upon returning home, I think my dog may have missed having another dog to occupy his indoor time. I will definitely use Layna for future bookings.”

“Joleen did a great job! We got lots of pics and updates while we were away. We felt very comfortable dropping off our dog in a very calming environment with a fenced back yard!”

“My husband and I have 100% confidence in Chantal. She always provides great updates, is very flexible around drop off and pick up times— which is especially important when a train or a flight is delayed — and our dogs are treated as if they are her own, with lots of snuggling and play time. We have no anxieties about them while we’re gone. Highly recommended!”

About: Animals have always been a central part of my life. As a pet owner myself, I understand that our pets are family members, not just animals. My personal dogs receive the same love, attention, and care that I would want for any pet entrusted to me. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have more than 15 years of hands-on experience with dogs and cats, including owning and operating a nonprofit animal rescue for five years. Through my rescue work, I cared for hundreds of dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including puppies, seniors, special-needs pets, and dogs recovering from illness or surgery. I am experienced with administering medications, monitoring health concerns, and recognizing when a pet may need extra attention or veterinary care. I know that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I will care for them as if they were my own. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide attentive care and accommodate a variety of pet care needs. Because I spend a significant amount of time at home, your pet will receive plenty of attention, companionship, exercise, and potty breaks throughout the day. I understand the importance of maintaining routines and will work with you to ensure your pet’s schedule, feeding times, medications, and preferences are followed closely. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a quieter environment, I can provide the level of care and attention they need. Safety is always my top priority. My experience running an animal rescue taught me how to properly introduce dogs, recognize signs of stress, manage different personalities, and provide a safe environment for pets with varying needs. I have a securely fenced yard and closely supervise outdoor time. I can also accommodate medications, special feeding instructions, crate training, and senior pet care.

“Marketa was very easy to work with and took wonderful care of both of my pups. She kept me updated with a few pictures which was a nice touch. I will be using her again when needed. Thanks again.”

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
