About: I’ve shared my home with dogs and cats my entire life and have never lived without an animal. Over the years I’ve cared for everything from high-drive working breeds to tiny Chihuahuas, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of sizes, energy levels, and personalities. I currently have a 4-month-old Belgian Malinois that I’m training for PSA and a 7-year-old Malinois who is our calm, steady family dog. I also have five rescue cats—some came to us with health issues that we nursed back to health, and others simply stole our hearts and never left. This mix has given me plenty of hands-on experience with everything from high-energy training and enrichment to medication, special diets, and gentle care for animals who need a little extra TLC. As an empty nester, I now have the time and energy to give other people’s pets the same attentive, loving care I’ve always given my own. Whether it’s a playful walk, structured enrichment, or quiet companionship, I treat every animal like they’re part of the family. I work from home Monday–Friday, 7–4, and am available all day on weekends. I’m flexible for early morning and evening check-ins and walks. I love staying active and out and about, which makes dog walking a perfect fit. I have a securely fenced yard that’s perfect for potty breaks and supervised play. My two friendly, active dogs are great with other dogs and love company, so your pet will always have a safe, engaging environment and plenty of attention.

As a healthcare professional, I understand the importance of reliability, communication, and showing up on time. Wether your pup needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or some extra love while you're away, I'll make sure they receive the same care and attention I'd give my own dog. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member <3. Safety and trust are extremely important to me. I treat every pet as if they were my own by following each owner's routine and instructions carefully. About: I've grown up with cats since I was 8 and began petsitting for people in my 1st couple years of college around 2015. I've done both dogsitting and catsitting for people and I love both animals equally! I have petsat for people with animals of all ages, with the youngest dog I have watched being about 8-10 months and the oldest being about 14 or 15. I love exploring new places and being outdoors especially since I live in one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. with the best weather! I find it equally enjoyable to see a dog smile and to see him/her bring joy to their owner and to people around them. I love to see how dogs can bring people together and get people to connect who would otherwise likely never talk to each other. I genuinely enjoy helping others and caring for pets really is its own kind of therapy! I will always clean up after pets even if its raining or if the dog wants to rush off and I have to step on the leash to keep him/her from taking off. I live by the golden rule and will do what I can to hold people accountable for pets that aren't being taken care of and/or cleaned up after. I'm currently working part time at San Diego Community College district as an Educational Coach with a students who are special needs or neurodivergent student population. I work about 17-19 hours a week for that job and am typically away from the home for 5 hours a day or less on Mon-Thurs depending on the day and number of students I'm meeting with. Some administrative tasks for my school job can be done remotely. I want to do more dog-walking and housesitting because it motivates me to stay active and foster connections with animals that my current living situation doesn't allow for. I also love hearing people's pet rescue stories and funny stories because each pet has its own personality and leaves pawprints on others hearts and lives! I love spending time with pets by throwing them their favorite toy and cuddling with them on the couch or bed. I also care for them by taking them for walks or finding the perfect new toy from an old volleyball, piece of rope, or other seemingly random objects that pets decide to take a liking to. Its interesting to see what they choose and of course there are limits there of things that should not be considered due to being hazardous due to being a choking hazard, but I'm all about finding new ways for them to have fun. I will feed them as often as you need and I have also given a dog its pills disguised in peanut butter or in its kibble a few times. If your animal is only allowed in parts of the house or yard I will keep the pens up and only allow it out as directed. I will provide them water as well as with treats or dental chews as preferred. I will take dogs out to use the bathroom as often as I am able, typically once every couple hours while I'm home and once every few hours if I'm going out. Feel free to reach out via text to clarify this, especially if your pet has specific needs or needs to be taken out more frequently to use the restroom.

About: I’ve grown up in a house full of pets—always three or more at a time—so caring for animals is second nature to me. From energetic puppies to slow-moving seniors, tiny lap dogs to big shedders, I’ve handled it all with patience and love. I regularly care for my grandparents’ dogs and have experience with rescue animals who need a little extra gentleness and understanding. Whether your pet is high-energy or low-key, dog or cat, you can trust they’ll be in caring, capable hands with me! I am currently a college student with part-time availability during the school year. I’m happy to be flexible and work with your schedule whenever possible! I care for pets by paying close attention to their unique needs and personalities. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, taken outside regularly, and given playtime when they’re full of energy. I also know when to give space to more independent pets, and when to offer affection and comfort to those who crave it. Whether I’m in my own home or a client’s, I aim to make every pet feel safe, seen, and cared for.

About: I grew up with puppies and kittens and at one point, my family had two dogs and two cats! I’ve always loved being around animals and caring for them. I’ve also cared for the pets of friends, neighbors, and family members, and I have volunteering experience at a veterinary clinic, which has given me additional exposure to animal care. One of my favorite things is teaching pets new tricks, whether it’s learning to sit, give paw, or roll over. I find it so rewarding to watch them learn and build trust with me! I’m active and love taking dogs on walks, playing with them, and keeping them engaged, but I’m equally happy giving senior pets or more relaxed companions the gentle, patient care they need. I’m also comfortable administering medication when needed and adapting to each pet’s unique personality, routine, and needs. To me, caring for a pet is about more than just keeping them safe and fed. It’s about making them feel loved, comfortable, and happy while their family is away. I would feel privileged to spend time with your little angels and care for them as if they were my own! I recently graduated with my master’s degree and am taking a break from fulltime corporate work, which gives me more flexibility in my schedule. I currently work as a private tennis coach, so I can plan my classes around spending quality time with your fur babies! I have plenty of time to provide attention, companionship, walks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day, while making sure your pet’s routine and needs come first. I’m excited to use this time to do something I genuinely love: caring for animals and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away! My approach to pet care is always loving, patient, and attentive. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and comfort level, and I want to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. I would love to meet you and your fur baby before accepting an assignment to get to know you both and make sure I'm a good fit for your pet's needs. I want the handoff to feel warm and reassuring, so your pet can see that I'm someone you know and trust. The thought of a pet feeling anxious or uncomfortable with a new person in their space breaks my heart, so I want to do everything I can to make the transition as smooth and stress free as possible. I'm also very happy to follow your instructions to a T! You know your baby best, and I respect the routines, boundaries, feeding schedules, medications, walking preferences, and little quirks that make them who they are. I'll treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own, keep you updated while you're away, and never hesitate to reach out if I have a question or concern. Above all, I want you to feel completely comfortable knowing your pet is in caring, responsible hands. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away with peace of mind, knowing your little angel is safe, loved, and well cared for.
“Luciana made time during her busy schedule for a final visit before her big stay coming up next month with our two fur babies. We spent the hour reviewing care instructions for our two dogs while will be away, Luciana took meticulous notes, asked great questions, and identified items we hadn't thought of that will certainly come up during her stay. She also prioritized making sure we agreed on a emergency plan should the need arise. We are feeling very relaxed and at ease about leaving our girls in Luciana's kind and careful hands while we are away.”

About: I’ve taken care of animals for over 14 years. Friends, neighbors, family, friends of friends, I’ve spent 20+ weekends a year house/pet sitting, and have averaged 3 dog walks a week for the last 3 years. I also have my Dog, Cat, and Pet First Aid Certificate as well as my Pet CPR Training Certificate from American Red Cross. Right now, I’m taking online courses for my profession. In between classes I would like to take breaks by taking care of animals. It’s both a stress reliever and something I love to do. I keep an eye out for any safety concerns or measures that need to take place to ensure the safety of your animals. Safety is key!
“Paige went above and beyond as a sitter for our cats. One of our cats began having urinary issues and she discovered spots of blood all over the house. She offered to take the cat to the vet on our behalf, but we were able to get home from our travel plans and take care of him ourself. She provided ample communications and safety for our cats.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
