About: Hello! So nice to meet you. My first name is Taylor, but please call me Marie (my middle and preferred name) :-) I'm looking forward to getting to know you and your pets. I have two wonderful cats (1 adopted, 1 rescue) and two wonderful dogs (adopted); one of which is a tripod and one wears diapers -- I gravitate especially towards rescues and seniors that need a little extra care. Every pet is so special and deserves a safe and happy home! I am competent, thorough, communicative, responsible, punctual, respectful, honest, and have integrity. You can be assured that your pet(s) will be safe with me. I give periodic updates with photos, I follow instructions carefully, I take attentive notes about your pet from your description and my own observations, and I respond promptly to messages. I am very tidy and will leave your home as clean as when I arrived. I always suggest a “Meet and Greet” because it’s important to me that you AND your pet are comfortable with me (and I you). I try to keep a pet’s routine as familiar as possible for their comfort and your peace of mind. A bit about my background: I graduated with a 4.0 from Pima Medical Institute, Phoenix, in December 2020 from the Veterinary Assistant Program. I graduated magna cum laude from ASU in 2015 with a BA in Creative Writing and a second BA in French linguistics/translation/literature. I also completed one semester of the Pre-Veterinary Medicine program at ASU. I am Fear Free Level 3 Certified (........). I've worked for Banfield Pet Hospital, Oak Creek Small Animal Clinic, and various other Small Animal vets on and off since 2018. I have been working with animals in some capacity since ~2010, and I’ve had my own pets since I was ~5 years old. I worked previously on Rover.com from July 2017 to May 2021, and took a hiatus because I moved, but unfortunately I no longer have that same Rover profile (Was "Taylor E.", first name and maiden name initial). I had, during that time, a 5-star rating from at least 35 people who were pleased with my pet care and communication and left positive reviews (thank you so much!!!). I have the experience to be able to care for *certain* special needs, and I will communicate with you honestly (at all times) if I feel a request is beyond my scope of experience because my priority is your pet's safety and wellbeing and I feel they should be matched with the best possible carer. I have worked with a variety of pets with different ages, abilities/needs, and breeds, and especially cats and dogs, as both a veterinary assistant and pet sitter. I am gentle, calm, and kind, and can also be silly/fun/playful and/or be confident/firm depending on your pet's personality, needs, and training. I've worked with a range of pets, from quiet seniors to rambunctious puppies to large-breed dogs who need a confident walker. And I most especially love cats!! I unfortunately cannot care for your pets in my own home (such as daycare or pet sitting in my home) because I have four of my own at home with special needs and routines. For dog walks, I prefer a harness or a sturdy, standard dog leash and a slip-lead (double) for added safety, and I advise against retractable leashes.

My schedule is pretty flexible on the weekends and on holiday weekends. I am experienced in extended housesits for more than 14 days. My experience includes administering medications, training puppies, working with hyper active dogs and games with cats elderly dogs. I am currently working a remote 9-5 job and can be at your home in the morning and all weekend providing an early morning walk and afternoon walk. I will ensure all pets are taken care of, in my own home anytime I take my dog out I ensure I have the proper collar and leash, and I am always outside watching them to ensure they are safe and accounted for.
