“Carly is AMAZING!!! She took care of our 2 dogs, 2 bunnies and 9 chickens. Our dogs were problematic when she arrived and she was still able to handle it. I so grateful for her and the extraordinary care she took with all of our pets. Thank you so much!!!!”

About: I’ve spent over ten years caring for dogs and cats of all ages from playful puppies and kittens to wise seniors. I work as a shepherd and look after sheep, goats and dogs, which has helped me stay calm, attentive and aware of behavior, safety, and fun. I’m trained in safe handling, bite prevention, and canine behavior and I rely on positive reinforcement to support pets. I take the responsibility of caring for your furry family seriously, making sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved while in my care. Animals are part of my everyday life. I make sure pets get attention, walks, playtime, and companionship on a regular schedule so they’re happy and healthy. I prioritize safety and comfort in every home. Pets are supervised, loved, and cared for with positive reinforcement so they feel secure and relaxed while you’re away.
About: I am a certified professional pet sitter through the pet sitter international organization and have my pet CPR certification through the Red Cross. I have been professionally pet sitting for a little over 5 years and have experience with animals who are special needs, elderly, or shy pets. I am currently focusing on pet sitting only so my schedule is fairly open and full time. Please contact for any days you may need. I have multiple references to provide letting you know that I am a safe option for taking care of your pets and homes. I am professional and take your confidentiality seriously as well.
“Robin gave our high energy dog lots of play each day. She even walked him during the times it wasn’t too hot. We came home to a clean house. She is kind, easy to work with and sends lots of pictures! Thank you so much for everything!”

“Diego was fantastic with our Beagle boys, Royce and Baxter. Diego went above and beyond ensuring that the boys were cared for and keeping us informed daily. Would definitely recommend and book again!”

“In addition to having large, rambunctious dogs that are not easy to wrangle, there was an additional, unexpected issue, which Angie dealt with by going above and beyond the expected scope of of services to take excellent care of the dogs. She sent daily updates and photos while I was out of town, so I knew she had things under control. The dogs had obviously gotten some great attention, based on the reception I got from them, which was welcoming without the anxiety the younger two can have when left alone too much. I highly recommend Angie.”

About: Dogs have been my passion for as long as I can remember. As a child, I spent much of my free time learning about different breeds, canine behavior, body language, health, grooming, and training. As an adult, that passion has only grown, and I have been fortunate enough to turn my lifelong love of dogs into a career. I have over eight years of professional experience working with dogs, including six years as a groomer and trainer at a boarding, grooming, and training facility, followed by two years as a professional groomer in a veterinary setting. Throughout my career, I have worked with dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes, and temperaments. In addition to my hands-on experience, I have completed numerous online and in-person educational programs through organizations such as the American Kennel Club (AKC) and industry conferences including the Pasadena Groom & Kennel Expo. My continuing education has included canine behavior and body language, canine CPR and first aid, breed standards and breed-specific grooming techniques, behavior modification, working safely with aggressive dogs, and training dogs with behavioral challenges. I believe there is always more to learn, and I am passionate about continuing my education so I can provide the highest level of care possible. One of my greatest strengths is understanding canine body language and behavior. I am highly proficient at recognizing stress signals, fear responses, anxiety, overstimulation, excitement, and other behavioral cues. Over the years, I have worked with everything from easygoing family pets to dogs struggling with reactivity, resource guarding, anxiety, fear-based behaviors, and other behavioral challenges. Understanding why a dog is behaving a certain way allows me to create a positive, safe, and low-stress experience tailored to each individual dog. I have also spent years fostering and grooming dogs for our local Humane Society, often taking on dogs that need extra patience, confidence-building, socialization, training, or behavioral support. Helping these dogs grow and succeed has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work. My experience as a groomer has taught me the importance of being observant and proactive. Groomers often see dogs more frequently than veterinarians and spend extended periods of time closely examining a dog's skin, coat, ears, eyes, feet, movement, and overall condition. Throughout my career, I have helped many clients identify potential concerns that later warranted veterinary attention, including food and environmental allergies, chronic skin conditions, ear infections, unusual lumps or bumps, coat changes, mobility concerns, and other health issues. While I never diagnose medical conditions, I take pride in recognizing when something appears unusual and encouraging owners to seek veterinary care. In many cases, early recognition helped owners find answers sooner and allowed their pets to receive treatment before problems became more serious or caused prolonged discomfort. I currently live on 10 acres with my three dogs: two Chihuahua mixes that I adopted as foster failures from the Humane Society and a Standard Poodle who has become somewhat of a local celebrity. Thanks to my grooming experience, he is known for his creative trims and has won local Halloween costume contests. He has also participated in community events where he helped demonstrate proper grooming and brushing techniques for pet owners. His friendly, outgoing personality and love of meeting new people are a reflection of the training, socialization, and care that I believe every dog deserves. Every dog is unique, and I believe exceptional care starts with understanding each dog's individual personality, needs, and communication style. Whether your dog needs a fun place to stay, specialized handling, extra patience, or simply someone who genuinely understands and loves dogs, my goal is to provide a safe, enriching, and low-stress environment where they feel comfortable, secure, and cared for like one of my own. As a stay-at-home mom, my daily routine allows me to spend a significant amount of time at home, which means your pet will receive plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. My dogs are an important part of our family's daily life, and caring for animals is already built into my routine. Each day includes feeding, potty breaks, exercise, playtime, enrichment activities, grooming as needed, and plenty of affection. Because I live on 10 acres, there is ample space for walks, exploration, and outdoor time, all while being carefully supervised. I also make it a priority to monitor each dog's behavior, comfort level, and overall well-being so I can adapt activities to their individual needs and personality. Whether your dog is energetic and loves to play, enjoys exploring outdoors, or prefers relaxing and receiving attention, I strive to provide a safe, structured, and low-stress environment where they feel comfortable and cared for. Since I am home throughout the day, your pet will not be left alone for long periods and will receive the same level of attention and care that I give my own dogs. The safety, comfort, and well-being of every pet in my care are always my highest priorities. Before accepting a booking, I take the time to learn about each dog's personality, routine, temperament, medical needs, and any behavioral concerns so I can provide care tailored specifically to them. At my home, dogs enjoy a spacious country setting on 10 acres. In addition to the large property, I have secure fenced areas available for supervised outdoor time, play, and potty breaks. Dogs are never left outdoors unattended, and I closely monitor all interactions between pets to ensure everyone remains safe and comfortable. Because of my professional background in grooming, training, fostering, and canine behavior, I pay close attention to body language and behavior at all times. I am highly skilled at recognizing early signs of stress, anxiety, fear, overstimulation, or conflict and can make adjustments before situations escalate. New dogs are introduced thoughtfully and at a pace appropriate for their comfort level. I understand that not every dog enjoys socializing with other dogs, and some pets may be more comfortable having their own space. For this reason, I have the ability to safely separate dogs when needed and can accommodate dogs that prefer limited interaction, require individual attention, need separate feeding arrangements, or simply do better in a quieter environment. My goal is always to set each dog up for success based on their individual needs rather than expecting every dog to fit the same routine. I maintain fresh water at all times, carefully follow feeding and medication instructions, and take precautions to ensure dogs cannot access anything unsafe. I am also trained in canine CPR and first aid, providing owners with additional peace of mind that their pets are in knowledgeable and capable hands. When caring for pets in a client's home, I strive to maintain their normal routine as closely as possible. Consistency helps reduce stress and allows pets to feel secure in their familiar environment. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, exercise, household rules, and special needs. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident knowing their pets are safe, happy, and receiving excellent care. Every dog is unique, and my goal is always to create a safe, structured, low-stress environment where they feel comfortable, respected, and cared for like one of my own.

“I have been using Rover for over 4 years and I have met some wonderful sitters, but Michele is seriously the best sitter I have had for Georgia. I appreciate her sincere demeanor and understanding with Georgia for her overall health and wellness. I also appreciated coming home to a clean house. She is one of the most considerate and thoughtful people I have met.”
“Lauren is fantastic and the absolute best! She’s dog/cat/house sat for me multiple times over the last two years. She’s so loving with my pets, super responsive and responsible, takes great care of the house (it’s always cleaner than when I left!), and is just a lovely person! Book with Lauren! You will be so happy you did!”

“Natalia went above and beyond in caring for our dog while we were away for a week. She kept us updated with frequent photos and even a video, which reassured us that our pet was in good hands. Natalia's prompt communication and genuine care for our furry friend made our trip worry-free. We highly recommend her services to anyone seeking a responsible and attentive pet sitter. She was awesome!”

About: I grew up with dogs and have fostered and cared for dozens of senior dogs at Muttville in SF. I also just said goodbye toy wonderful foster fail 2 Chainz who crossed the rainbow bridge in November. I live close to a lovely park with a great community of dog walkers. I have experience with puppies, elderly dogs (17 years) and pit bulls. I work from home so all dogs get constant attention! I prioritize time outside and walks. I love making dogs feel as safe and comfortable adjusting to a new schedule and location! I have a pretty standard feeding and walk schedule. I've fostered quite a bit and have lots of experience helping dogs feel welcome, calm, loved and safe in their new surroundings.
About: I’ve taken early retirement and have a lot of time in my hands. I have been pet sitting for a client with four dogs, a chihuahua , two frenchies and occasionally a German shepherd in their home. I cook their food, and I am a great housecleaner so your space will be nice when you come back home. I will take loving care of your cat or dog, only one pet at a time unless they are from the same household. I do not have any pets of my own at this time, which allows me flexibility in my schedule to be able to pet sit. I look forward to taking care of your fur baby. I took early retirement, so I will be home with the pet all day and night for whatever is needed. I have experience with senior dogs and frenchies. I am clean and considerate and love to spend time with animals. Your pet will receive personal attention and care with affection. I look forward to taking care of your pets.
“Christopher is a true dog lover and I feel fortunate to have found him to take care of my pack whenever I’m not around. I have a lot of attendant anxiety when trying to pair my dogs with a suitable sitter- for no other reason than that they need a lot of exercise and ask for a lot of attention. Christopher alleviated every ounce of attendant stress experienced by leaving my dogs in someone’s care. He took my dogs on outings, updated me with charming photos and was completely unflappable when it came to managing two high energy and young labs along with a corgi who needs to herd everyone to feel fulfilled. On top of all of this, Christopher took excellent care of my home- maybe even leaving it cleaner than I did for him. 5 stars for Christopher, absolutely!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Hopland
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 87 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hopland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hopland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hopland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hopland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hopland. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
