We highly recommend Lauren to watch your fur baby. We initially reached out to Lauren to see if she could watch our sweet old girl (19 y.o. dog); she responded within 15 minutes confirming that she was available. A few days before, Lauren stopped by our apartment to receive our key and meet our pup. She brought a notebook to write down all instructions / important notes. Her demeaning was soft and positive, and already we knew she was a great fit. On the day of our leave, Lauren was in regular correspondence about her timing and about activities with our girl. She took a few picture updates. Everything went very smooth. She clearly had no problem watching our elderly dog. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to watch your loved one fur pup, elderly or otherwise.

Laura took amazing care of our elderly pug! His health issues makes him not the easiest to care for but she caught on to his needs quickly! Bubba enjoyed his time with her! We came home to a super clean house and happy pup! Couldn’t ask for anything more! Will definitely book again and highly recommend Laura for your next booking!

We had such a wonderful experience with Christine! From the moment we left, she kept us updated with pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pups were happy and well cared for. She was incredibly trustworthy, kind, and friendly, and it was obvious she genuinely cared about our dogs. The best part was seeing how much our dogs loved her—they were comfortable, happy, and clearly well taken care of. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive dog sitter. Thank you for taking such amazing care of our fur babies!

Hayley was a superb sitter for our dogs--and turtles and fish!! She always responded immediately, she sent notes/photos/videos regularly, and we were most impressed with her professionalism. Not only did the pups look happy and healthy when we returned home, but so did the yard and the house--absolutely in pristine condition. :) If we need her services again, we will absolutely book her immediately!

Chris ( Chappy) is amazing. We have two giant (120 and 150 lbs), complicated dogs—one of whom can be aggressive. Plus seizures. This is not an easy situation and we have rejected most sitters. Chappy had the right experience and feel to handle them both. He is also extremely conscientious. He is an experienced dog handler and we are relieved to have found him.

She was extremely trustworthy, a great communicator and went above and beyond caring for the animals and our house. We are so lucky to have found her and can’t wait to have her come again!

Mariah is our go to dog sitter! She has watched our 2 crazy doodles multiple times now and every time she is so communicative, punctual, and treats the boys like they are her own. The house is always left spotless as well. It’s so nice knowing that we don’t have to worry about the dogs when we are away! Will continue to reach out to her first whenever we need a sitter or someone to check in on them!

About: I've taken excellent care of dogs, cats, and livestock for the past 25 years. Neighbors, friends and my own family have always been able to rely heavily on me to take great care of their pets. I've also got my own business page on facebook as well. I'm currently looking to expand my pet sitting and ranch care services, and am available pretty much any day of the week to provide my services. I don't offer to board other animals at my home for liability reasons. I have 1 horse, 2 dogs, and 1 cat. All 4 of my animals get pampered every single day with the best food that monet can buy, and all the love in the world from me. I'm currently not employed, and so am working on trying to expand my business as an animal care provider. You can also find me on facebook by searching for Kimi's Pet & Ranch Care Services. I treat each and every animal like they were my own. For example, I don't allow just anyone to come and take care of my 4 animals as I'm pretty protective of them, and would absolutely treat your 4 legged fur babies the same way

There aren't enough words to express how thankful we are to have found Francesco. He was incredible with our dog Betty. He was very good about updates and really intuitive in his interactions with her. She's really slow to warm to people and was calm with him very quickly. Our home and Betty seem to be in better shape than when we left. We will be sure to recommend him to anyone in need and will be booking with him again in the near future. Thank you again, Paul and Krystal

When you first meet certain people, you know they are real and up front with you, such that you will have no worries leaving your pets and home in their care. Brianna is such a person. She was just like a gift coming to the front door to meet us and our pets. Her care and concern is the very best. We received updates and pictures of our cats with text messages about their activities. Three of our cats get meds and one needs a little bit of special attention. Brianna was on top of it all. We recommend her to anyone booking for pet care they can count on.

Sarah is absolutely amazing! We have three dogs, one with orthopedic issues, one that is quite exuberant, and one that is nervous around new people. Sarah was patient with our introduction routine, and put our nervous dog at ease almost instantly. She was also great with coming to walk the dogs a few times, to make sure things continued to go smoothly, before staying with them while we were out of town. Our pack can be a handful, which often makes it hard to feel like we can leave them in someone else’s care, but we were never worried about Sarah! While we were gone, Sarah’s frequent updates were so wonderful and reassuring. We could see that the pups were really fond of her company, even Calvin gave her some of his much-coveted attention! She handled all the individualized instructions with ease, and was great about getting everyone out during breaks in the rainy weather. She was also so attentive, noticing that our dog Charlotte’s brace was rubbing, and giving us a heads up. We can’t wait to continue working with Sarah in the future. She’s a lifesaver!

FAQs for House Sitting - Caldwell Pines

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 528 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Caldwell Pines. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Caldwell Pines walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Caldwell Pines maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Caldwell Pines choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Caldwell Pines. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
