“Michael and his family were wonderful with my dog, Sunny. They walked him regularly, did different activities and played with him. He appeared to have a good time and looked comfortable for the whole visit. I received regular updates with photos, so I always knew what he was up to. Michael was organized and prepared to host a dog. He even had a crate (if Sunny needed it), lots of toys, and a comfy spot for Sunny to sleep. I was able to enjoy my trip knowing Sunny was in good hands. I will definitely reach out to him again in the future.”
“Kaylee is phenomenal! Leaving our dogs is always anxiety inducing because we want to make sure they are loved the way we love them, Kaylee was able to work with us even when we needed to change up the reservation a little bit due to changes with our plans. Her communication is incredible and she responded almost immediately anytime I sent a message. She loved our dogs like they were her own and they were so happy at the end of the stay that we immediately knew anytime we are looking for someone to watch our dogs, Kaylee will be our first call. If you need someone that will go above and beyond, take care of your dogs the way you want them to be cared for and know your in the best hands ever, Kaylee is your girl!”
“Cooper had a great week with Beth and her family! He was pampered and cuddled. We got a picture or video every day. We had a great vacation knowing Cooper was also having a great week! We would highly recommend Beth for your pet!”
“Courtney was really amazing. She was extremely flexible with her time and communicated often, especially as I was anxious about leaving my cat for the first time. I also booked with short notice and she was extremely accommodating. Lots of updates and pictures which is just what I needed to ease my anxiety.”
“Cynthia treated Lilo like a princess while I was away! Walks on her beautiful property, time near the water, and made sure she felt at home. She was communicative, punctual, and made sure to send me lots of updates.”
“Jo-Ellen is an outstanding Rover host!! She really went above and beyond to make sure Zoom was comfortable given this was only his second rover stay. I'm grateful for the A+ communication and attention given to Zoom. Her place is in a quiet neighborhood with very little traffic and lots of grassy lawns. Definitely will be leaving Zoom with Jo-Ellen during future travels!”
“Daniel and his kids were awesome with Charlie. He was able to meet with some accommodations that were required for the drop off. He took Charlie around and kept us updated throughout the stay. I recommend and will book again.”
“Genalind is reliable, trustworthy, and incredibly caring! Her and her family watched our pup - Hershey - for 10 days and provided excellent care. Communication was perfect throughout the entire stay, she provided both pictures and videos, daily, of our pup enjoying his stay at her home. Hershey was so happy and content when we got home. 10/10 service—we will definitely book again!”
“It was a pleasure to work with Brenda. During the meet and greet, it became obvious she is very knowledgeable and caring. She communicated quickly and well throughout the process. This was my first time using a petsitter and I would have no hesitation using Brenda’s services again.”
“My dog has had the same sitter for 14 years, so I was concerned about how he would adapt to a new person and setting. Grace was wonderful with him. She followed his schedule and routine. When I picked him up, he was relaxed and happy. Grace kept me informed about how he was doing with messages and pictures. I will definitely use Grace again.”
“Mary’s home was PERFECT for our Stanley - there was a fenced in yard to run around and plenty of snuggles on the sofas and bed. Mary was attentive to making sure Stanley had his own space to eat meals and chew on his bones. She sent photo and video updates and was always responsive whenever I reached out to check in with her. I truly felt that Mary and her family loved Stanley as their own while he was with them! I would absolutely recommend Mary and book with her again.”
“Jaxson loved his stay at Tara’s. When we used to take him to a kennel, he came home exhausted. He was not overtired or stressed at all in Tara’s home environment! They have a wonderful back yard that is fenced, and availability to walking paths right behind their house. Highly recommend.”
“Awesome as usual. I’ve returned several times now and Gibby just loves it there. Plenty of pictures to put me at ease, although after our first visit I’ve never worried about leaving him there. They treat him like he’s part of the tribe. Thank you guys for the great care he receives each and every time. ❤️”
“Stacy took great care of Archer and was accommodating, especially when she accepted our last minute request which was much appreciated! We’re already planning Archer’s next stay!”
“Lisa was incredible! This was my first time leaving my dogs with a “stranger”, and I couldn’t have had a better experience! Lisa updated me with pictures often, and even sent my babies home with a photo album of pictures!! My girls loved her, and we will be using her in the future!! ❤️”
“Melody took excellent care of our Ziggy! Ziggy was very hapoy hanging out with Melody. Ziggy is content to have interesting walks, to eat all her food and snacks and to sleep. Melody did well with all of that. I would highly recommend her. 🙂”
“I felt very good about the care I was receiving from videos and pictures. I felt max was in good hands and it showed a very well organised house with a fenced in yard in the back. I will definitely use him again. Thanks again”
“Tania was amazing and my pet Daisy liked her very much . She sent daily updates and took my girl on long walks which she loves . When picking her up I saw her tail going nuts and that showed how much my pet liked her. She in fact offered her a toy that Daisy picked up when she was in her care . Thank you very much for the affection you showed towards my girl.”

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
97% of sitters in Hopeland can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hopeland home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Hopeland.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Hopeland sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
