“Cassie sat our sweet pup Clara for almost two weeks while we were out of the country over the holidays. She sent daily updates and pictures which really put our mind at ease while we were away. You can tell Cassie is a true dog lover, she treated Clara like her own and even let her sleep on her bed during the day. Clara came back to us a happy and tired out pup! We highly recommend Cassie and she will be our go to sitter in the future.”

“Annie was amazing! My baby stayed with her while I was away for a work conference and Annie did a great job at keeping me updated and even sending me photos while I was away. Mowgli took to her very well and was comfortable immediately upon our arrival. If you didn’t know any better, you would have thought he was at home. My pup is very energetic and Annie made sure he got plenty of outside time and walks. She’s the best!”

“Heather was great with my boys. She sent me videos and updates was very good with responding to my messages. Her property is fenced and there were different areas for the dogs. They were happy with Heather, I most definitely would use her again. Thank you Heather.”

“Kelsey and her family always does such a great job with our pup! He was so excited to see her again when she came to pick him up. And he’s always so exhausted when he comes home which is a sign he had a great time! Great communication the whole time she had him, too!”

“Hailie was awesome with Whiskey! She was communicative and sent us pics while we were out of town, and worked with us on pickup times. We'll def be coming back to her if we need someone to sit our girl again!”

“Dalia is outstanding and our go-to sitter in town. She lovingly cared for our two girls and they feel at home with her. Dalia’s experience and personal care is apparent in the way she handles our pups. She gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Can’t rate her high enough!”

“Lindsey and John are fantastic. They went out of their way to send us many updates with pictures and videos while we were out of town! They treated our sweet puppy like she was their own. I recommend John and lindsey to anyone looking for someone to take care of the furry friend! Freya is already missing them!”

“Amber went out of her way to make Snowflake feel at home. She even went to the store and bought her some chicken to boil because she didn’t want to eat her dog food. She was good to keep in touch and answer my questions soon after I asked them. She is a great sitter for my girl! I hope to book her to keep Snowflake again soon. Thank you, Amber!”

“Kia was so accommodating with my last minute booking. My Remi and her Ozzy have become the best of buds lol. Glad I was able to find her. Will definitely be booking with her again for my boarding needs.”

“Kira and her husband are amazing , we just boarded our dog Sven with them , he is a rescue with what we assume was a traumatic past before we adopted him at 6 months old from the shelter . Kira and her husband took the time to make sure Sven was comfortable in their home. She sent me updates and photos every day while he was there . We will use them any time we go on a trip if they’re available and would recommend them to anyone looking for someone to board their dog with !”

“This is our second time booking Sydney to watch our baby Cooper while we go on vacation. She always keeps us updated on how our pup is doing. Cooper is hit or miss with most other dogs but gets along great with Sydney’s fur baby’s as well! Would definitely recommend her to anyone!”

“This was my first experience using Rover, and Rachel exceeded my expectations. Immediately my dog was comfortable in her home and I knew after the meet and greet she was the right person. I loved all the photos and updates and loved how much my dog enjoyed her time there-so much so she didn't want to leave!”

“I’m so glad that I pick this wonderful lady to watch over my Sadie. She kept me up to date on everything and sent pictures of my baby. I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone to watch over your baby.”

About: I’ve kept my grand dogs for years and have stayed overnight for several friends on multiple occasions . I have references that talk and bark 😁 I am retired so my schedule is very flexible. I can stay overnight and am usually available on weekends with advance notice. I love snuggles! I ask for an idea of what their day is like and try to follow it as much as possible. I have kept all ages and don’t mind giving medicine or potty training. I live going on walks also!
“Stephanie was awesome!! We had to go out of town for the holidays at short notice and we could take our dog. Ge did great at Stephanie's. She has a big fenced in yard that he absolutely loved! Pics and videos daily to show that he was doing great.”

“Toya is AMAZING. Our baby loves spending time with Auntie Toya and is very comfortable (even for being a shelter dog). She has nervous tendencies but don’t come up when Auntie Toya is around… Toya spoils her and loves on her and I have no worries because I know she being spoiled while I’m away. Love knowing she’s in loving hands. Brings me such peace of mind while I’m away. 🫶🏼”

About: I have hands-on experience working in a professional dog daycare and boarding facility, caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. I’ve also been boarding dogs in my own home for years, where they’re treated like part of the family. Most of my bookings have come through my Facebook business page, and I’m now joining Rover to connect with more clients and their pups! I’m comfortable with feeding routines, administering medications, caring for senior and high-energy dogs, and managing multiple dogs safely. I love sending owners photo updates so they can relax knowing their pup is comfortable, happy, and well cared for. I’m a stay-at-home mom, so caring for your pup fits naturally into my daily routine! I have plenty of time throughout the day for attention, playtime, and regular outdoor potty breaks. We have a very large, fully fenced backyard with plenty of room for play, exploring, and sniffing. Our neighborhood also has a private lake with a walking trail, so if your dog enjoys walks, we can work those into their stay too! Our days include a mix of activity and cozy downtime indoors. I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual feeding, potty, and bedtime schedule to help them feel comfortable and settled. Whether your pup loves to play or prefers to curl up nearby, I can adjust our routine to their needs. I also send daily photo updates so you can see how your pup is spending their time with us! I have a large fenced-in yard with plenty of room for dogs to play and explore. Dogs are welcome to relax on the furniture and make themselves at home. I have professional daycare and boarding experience, along with a long list of regular clients outside of Rover who trust me with their dogs. I always follow each owner’s feeding, medication, crate, and routine instructions and send regular photo updates so you know your pup is happy and well cared for.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hollytree home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Hollytree.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Hollytree sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
