About: I have loved animals all my life-dogs, cats, chickens, reptiles, bugs-you name it! I got my first pet at age 11 (my calico cat, Abbie) and I've been adding to my collection ever since! I currently have an alapaha blueblood bulldog named Hamilton, a corgi named Pippa, two orange cats named Milo and Stewart, a 6 year old goldfish named Freed, and 9 chickens (all named of course, but I'll spare you that). My first fur baby Elli, a dachshund recently passed away; in saying that I am letting you know that I'm an expert in senior care and giving animals medications as well. Her meds were a full time job. I walk my dog almost daily and love to exercise animals, so I'd love to walk your animals too! Just a part-time registered nurse over here looking to fill my spare time and love on some fur babies! I'm a per diem registered nurse who works evenings and nights so I have lots of time from morning to afternoon to care for your pet. I generally walk my bulldog daily so I'd love to tire out your fur baby too! I am available Monday to Thursday, preferably 0830-200 (with flexibility) to assist you with your pet needs! I have well trained, loved animals at home. In coming to your home, I hope to continue to love your pet like my own while complying to whatever rules you set for the animal and myself. I believe in teaching dogs to walk well on a leash without being too stringent. Safety is always priority as well as making your cat/dog feel at ease.

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was young. I understand that pets are apart of the family and how difficult it is to leave them behind when on vacations. That’s why it’s so important to me to make sure there is someone who treats my animals the same way! Alex (my significant other) and I would love nothing more than making sure your furry friend remains comfortable and safe while you are away. Alex and I both work through the day but live very local (5 minutes from our home) so we can check on them throughout the day if needed. We are also very active so pets that need extra walking or a hike is not a big issue for us in the least! I work full time and so does my partner Alex, however we both get an hour lunch and are willing to both work around schedules to fit where needed! Both of us do live very close to home so if needed we can always stop by the house and check in. My pets are my family so yours would become my family as well! Both cats and dogs need someone that is going to be willing to play with them daily! I have multiple kennels of different sizes if a pet needs one/is comfortable with one. If not I also have a room dedicated to keeping pets comfy while I am gone during the day. It’s always helpful to have a space where pets can decompress when they are in an unknown location.

About: As a professional pet and senior sitter, I possess a unique set of skills and qualities that set me apart from other sitters in the industry. While many sitters may have experience with basic pet care, I have specialized training in puppy training, senior care, and administering medication. These skills, along with my compassionate nature and attention to detail, make me an exceptional caregiver for both animals and elderly individuals. One of the key aspects that sets me apart from other sitters is my extensive experience in training puppies. I have completed a professional puppy training course and have worked with numerous puppies to help them develop good behavior and socialization skills. This training allows me to provide valuable guidance to new pet owners and help them raise well-behaved and well-adjusted dogs. I understand the unique challenges and needs of young dogs, and I am dedicated to providing the necessary care and support to help them thrive. In addition to my expertise in puppy training, I also have a passion for senior care. I have undergone specialized training in providing care for elderly individuals, including those with physical or cognitive limitations. I understand the importance of patience, empathy, and respect when working with seniors, and I am committed to providing them with the highest quality of care. Whether it's assisting with daily tasks, providing companionship, or administering medication, I am equipped to meet the unique needs of elderly individuals and ensure their well-being and comfort. Furthermore, my ability to administer medication sets me apart from other sitters. I am trained in safely and accurately administering medication to pets and seniors, ensuring that they receive the necessary treatment and dosage. This skill allows me to provide valuable support to pet owners and family members who may have concerns about administering medication to their loved ones. Beyond these specialized skills, my compassionate nature and dedication to providing exceptional care make me a standout sitter. I prioritize building trusting relationships with both pets and seniors, and I am committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment for them. I understand the importance of clear communication with pet owners and family members, and I am always transparent and responsive in my interactions. In conclusion, my unique combination of specialized skills, including puppy training, senior care, and medication administration, sets me apart from other sitters. With a compassionate and detail-oriented approach, I strive to provide exceptional care and support to both animals and elderly individuals. I am committed to meeting their individual needs and ensuring their well-being and comfort, making me a standout choice for pet and senior sitting services. Pet care, including feeding, exercise, playtime, and grooming, should be integrated into your daily and weekly routine to ensure your pet's well-being and happiness. Incorporate playtime with toys and games to provide mental and physical stimulation. I Establish a consistent daily routine for feeding, exercise, and playtime. I Ensure the home environment is safe and suitable for the pet, free of hazards and with designated spaces for rest and play. I Provide appropriate, healthy food and fresh water at all times. About: I volunteer at the SPCA walking dogs and caring for the cats. I'm a lover of all animals. I'm very clean and responsible and care for all animals as I would a family member. I'm currently working full-time, but I'm available after 4 and all weekends and holidays. I have a dog and fours cats of my own and this seems to work for them. They are very happy. I take my dog on long walks and provide him enrichment treats and toys. I always check when leaving to make sure that nothing is out he can hurt himself with. I'm also very strict on cleaning the cat boxes as I don't want them to get sick or smell up the house. I will clean up after your pets and I will make sure they are safe and happy.

About: Hello my name is Thayer and I my whole life is about dogs! I currently own two puppies, Sippy is a mixed breed husky, the baby of the bunch is Cheech and she is a mixed lab. I have an associates in Veterinary Science, I am working on my bachelors in Criminal Justice, before going to to obtain my Masters in Veterinary Forensics. All of these are to help me in my future career as a humane officer. Humane Officers’ primary purpose is to investigate allegations of animal abuse and ensure pets are well cared for and protected. I want to spend my life helping dogs feel safe and well cared for even when their owners are away. I have worked at various dog boarding/daycare facilities in the area, alongside multiple dog/cat rescues, and had the amazing opportunity to work for the ASPCA at their headquarters’ clinic. Through these experiences I have taken care of all types of dogs and cats. Some medical issues I’ve dealt with were seizures, diabetes, blindness, deafness, blind/deaf, heat sensitivity, the elderly pups, couple hour old puppies, and the mamas to the pups. I also have lots of experience with dogs with other behaviors such as, fear aggression, reactivity, dog aggression, people (stranger) aggression, men aggression, handling issues, and much more. No dog is ever too difficult to handle and you should be able to go on that vacation not feeling stressed about your pup. I want to help your pup feel right at home when you’re gone or help them get their energy out on a walk. Can’t wait to meet you and your fur babies!!! I am currently going to school full time and working on the weekends. I am off Sundays and am home everyday no later than 2pm. I am trying to save money for college. Dog Boarding: 1 mile walk daily, daily fetch and/or tug game, daily bedtime kong, stays longer than 4 days get a free bath and nail clipping/Dremmel, if dog allows. If asked I also offer training aka reviewing already learned commands, dog enrichment games (such as snuffle matts), and daily brushouts. House Sitting: 2-3 daily walks, daily fetch and/or tug game, scooping yard after each potty, cleaning your dog bowls inbetween meals, and stays longer than 4 days get a free nail clipping/Dremmel, if dog allows. If asked I also offer training aka reviewing already learned commands, dog enrichment games (such as snuffle matts), and daily brushouts. Doggy Daycare: I like to start each day with a mile walk all together. Then one on one playtime with my pup(s), if wanted. If you want your pup to have doggy playtime, they will have “cool down” times throughout the day. If a repeat client I offer a free bath every 3rd completed daycare day and free nail clipping/dremmel once a month (as needed), if dog allows. Dog Walking: I provide treats and will reward the dog with a treat when not pulling, so we can walk more safely and efficiently. If I notice the dog’s leash is connected to a collar or harness that is too loose, I may ask if I may tighten it. I do not feel comfortable walking dogs with items that they can easily slip, and may decline an offer, if one is not willing to tighten it. I want all the dogs I walk to be completely safe and not be able to slip out and run. Rates do not go up if dog pulls, is reactive, or dog/ stranger aggressive.

About: I will welcome your pet to its home away from home, showing them the attention and love they require as if they were with you. There isnt anything im not willing to try to ensure your best friend feels as comfortable and continues with their daily schedule the best of my ability- special walking requests (time, amount, distance, frequency), special dietary needs or medication administration, etc. Will allow on furniture and provide any "treats" that you request. But will also ensure that no pets on furniture, no people food, no treats, etc if thats what you desire as well. Either way, you give me the word and ill be more than happy to continue the same care your pet receives at home, no questions asked! If you're looking for a home away from home for your pet, youve found the right person and home! I look forward to hearing from you and mostly meeting the love of your life and continuing the same care they receive at home. I am currently a stay at home homemaker so this allows me to practically be with your pet family member 24 hrs a day which allows us to get to know each other quickly and ensues your furry family member is spoiled with my time. I currently live in a quiet neighborhood which allows me to keep a close eye on your furry family member at all times. Most of the time I get a sidekick with me immediately!! I ensure during potty breaks and walks that I familiarize myself with your pets needs, likes, and dislikes (eg. Other animals).

She was kind, dependable, and easy to work with. My pet care needs were a little different than a typical booking, and she was willing to accommodate them. I appreciate that along with her reliability. I was able to have peace of mind while away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
