About: I have loved animals all my life-dogs, cats, chickens, reptiles, bugs-you name it! I got my first pet at age 11 (my calico cat, Abbie) and I've been adding to my collection ever since! I currently have an alapaha blueblood bulldog named Hamilton, a corgi named Pippa, two orange cats named Milo and Stewart, a 6 year old goldfish named Freed, and 9 chickens (all named of course, but I'll spare you that). My first fur baby Elli, a dachshund recently passed away; in saying that I am letting you know that I'm an expert in senior care and giving animals medications as well. Her meds were a full time job. I walk my dog almost daily and love to exercise animals, so I'd love to walk your animals too! Just a part-time registered nurse over here looking to fill my spare time and love on some fur babies! I'm a per diem registered nurse who works evenings and nights so I have lots of time from morning to afternoon to care for your pet. I generally walk my bulldog daily so I'd love to tire out your fur baby too! I am available Monday to Thursday, preferably 0830-200 (with flexibility) to assist you with your pet needs! I have well trained, loved animals at home. In coming to your home, I hope to continue to love your pet like my own while complying to whatever rules you set for the animal and myself. I believe in teaching dogs to walk well on a leash without being too stringent. Safety is always priority as well as making your cat/dog feel at ease.

Kathleen was patient and sweet with my very shy foster - who was a bit of an unknown with visitors in the house. Kathleen was willing to go slow with the introduction and follow protocols just in case my guy was fearful-aggressive. She knows dogs, the meeting went well, and we've booked more visits in hopes of becoming a regular client.

About: Hello! I have provided for a variety of animals, from dogs and cats, to fish, reptiles, and axolotl‘s! I’ve had experience with giving animals medications, specifically insulin if required, and I am ready for any requests that would make you and your pets feel more comfortable. High energy pets are no issue for me, and i’d love to be able to work with them and get them outside for some exercise. Given the opportunity, i’d be excited to meet you and your pets, and to give them the care they deserve! I am currently working full time from 8:30-4:30 Monday-Friday, and occasionally Saturday mornings. Because of this, I am only comfortable with house-sitting animals that are comfortable making it throughout the 8 hour workday without being outside. Of course, i’d be there up until I leave for work, and again immediately when I get off. Weeknights and the weekends are free for me, and i’d love any chance to meet some new furry faces, and treat them as if they were my own! I have two kitties of my own at home, so I am unable to accommodate pets there, but I’d love to meet your pet in your home where they are comfortable! I am extremely detail oriented, so if your pet requires specific instructions, I’d be more than happy to accommodate that! Your house will be in even better condition than you left it, with a happy furry friend waiting for you! If you’d like, i’d also love to send photos of your pet(s) along with any updates while away so you can see how they are doing!

Megan is amazing. I set her up to care for my mom’s dogs after she had surgery for a broken ankle and was non-weight bearing. Megan was available last second, went to the house 4 times a day like clockwork, and took such wonderful, loving care of Louis and Brie. And was so very sweet to my mom. I had such peace of mind knowing that the dogs were cared for and safe and my mom could rest and start to heal without worry for them. If you are in need of pet sitting services in her area, PLEASE contact Megan. She’s a godsend and will not disappoint. I would hire her again in a second, and as I’m a veterinarian, I’m very picky with my family’s animals and know what great care looks like. Thank you so much, Megan!!

About: I’ve been a dog owner my entire life and have had experience owning other pets such as geckos, cats, and snakes. I’ve been a pet sitter for a little over two years. My true passion for pet sitting comes from my desire to be accompanied by them, dogs specifically. I work with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and personalities. Dogs of all backgrounds tend to gravitate towards me and I have never had any negative interactions. While studying for my undergrad, I was actually in charge of all the live animal specimens present on the University grounds. Feeding, exercise, and handling/care were done daily, which can explain my comfortability and familiarity with pet care. I currently am home as I finish my masters degree online so my daily schedule is fairly free. I workout and do part-time contract work when I am not doing schoolwork. I’m extremely flexible and will be willing to meet your needs as best as possible. Simply put, I treat the pets like they are my own. I ensure they are met with sufficient attention, exercise, nutrition, and safety while under my supervision. Minimizing stress is my biggest concern (my dog has separation anxiety so I know how it can be). I’ve found it helpful in the past to use my own dog as a bridge between myself and the client’s pet, as his presence tends to build confidence and reassurance.

About: As a professional pet and senior sitter, I possess a unique set of skills and qualities that set me apart from other sitters in the industry. While many sitters may have experience with basic pet care, I have specialized training in puppy training, senior care, and administering medication. These skills, along with my compassionate nature and attention to detail, make me an exceptional caregiver for both animals and elderly individuals. One of the key aspects that sets me apart from other sitters is my extensive experience in training puppies. I have completed a professional puppy training course and have worked with numerous puppies to help them develop good behavior and socialization skills. This training allows me to provide valuable guidance to new pet owners and help them raise well-behaved and well-adjusted dogs. I understand the unique challenges and needs of young dogs, and I am dedicated to providing the necessary care and support to help them thrive. In addition to my expertise in puppy training, I also have a passion for senior care. I have undergone specialized training in providing care for elderly individuals, including those with physical or cognitive limitations. I understand the importance of patience, empathy, and respect when working with seniors, and I am committed to providing them with the highest quality of care. Whether it's assisting with daily tasks, providing companionship, or administering medication, I am equipped to meet the unique needs of elderly individuals and ensure their well-being and comfort. Furthermore, my ability to administer medication sets me apart from other sitters. I am trained in safely and accurately administering medication to pets and seniors, ensuring that they receive the necessary treatment and dosage. This skill allows me to provide valuable support to pet owners and family members who may have concerns about administering medication to their loved ones. Beyond these specialized skills, my compassionate nature and dedication to providing exceptional care make me a standout sitter. I prioritize building trusting relationships with both pets and seniors, and I am committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment for them. I understand the importance of clear communication with pet owners and family members, and I am always transparent and responsive in my interactions. In conclusion, my unique combination of specialized skills, including puppy training, senior care, and medication administration, sets me apart from other sitters. With a compassionate and detail-oriented approach, I strive to provide exceptional care and support to both animals and elderly individuals. I am committed to meeting their individual needs and ensuring their well-being and comfort, making me a standout choice for pet and senior sitting services. Pet care, including feeding, exercise, playtime, and grooming, should be integrated into your daily and weekly routine to ensure your pet's well-being and happiness. Establishing a consistent schedule provides predictability and security for your pet, reducing stress and promoting healthy habits. Start the day with feeding, followed by a walk or playtime to expend energy and stimulate your pet. Incorporate short breaks for feeding, playtime, or a quick walk, especially if working from home. Dedicate time for a longer walk, play session, or quiet time for bonding and relaxation. Schedule daily or weekly grooming sessions, depending on your pet's breed and coat type. Maintain a regular feeding schedule to help regulate your pet's digestion and prevent accidents. Bathe your pet every few weeks or as needed. Brush your pet's teeth regularly. Incorporate playtime with toys and games to provide mental and physical stimulation. I Establish a consistent daily routine for feeding, exercise, and playtime. I Ensure the home environment is safe and suitable for the pet, free of hazards and with designated spaces for rest and play. I Provide appropriate, healthy food and fresh water at all times. I Offer regular physical and mental stimulation through walks, playtime, and training. I Establish clear communication with the client about the pet's routine, needs, and any specific instructions. About: I volunteer at the SPCA walking dogs and caring for the cats. I'm a lover of all animals. I'm very clean and responsible and care for all animals as I would a family member. I'm currently working full-time, but I'm available after 4 and all weekends and holidays. I have a dog and fours cats of my own and this seems to work for them. They are very happy. I take my dog on long walks and provide him enrichment treats and toys. I always check when leaving to make sure that nothing is out he can hurt himself with. I'm also very strict on cleaning the cat boxes as I don't want them to get sick or smell up the house. I will clean up after your pets and I will make sure they are safe and happy.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Port Trevorton. On Rover:

  • 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
