About: I've worked with pets my whole life, and have worked with dogs professionally for over a year. I bring a depth of knowledge and a willingness to learn that help me adapt to the needs of every animal. I work full time, but primarily have weekends and weekdays evenings and nights available. So if you are looking to take a weekend getaway, or need someone to come check on the pets in the evenings, I'll be happy to work you into my schedule. I make sure pets are fed and cared for to their owners specifications. Medical needs are seen to as a priority, and hygiene, bathroom, and attention needs are always a focus when I am caring for pets.

About: I love animals! Currently I have a mixed breed (mostly French Bulldog). Dog(s) are let out on a run or a leash to keep chickens safe. I have 2 adult children so these days animals are my main focus. My life revolves around family.... human and animal family! I am hoping to keep busy caring for animals in my home and / or yours. My dog is friendly and submissive. I do have a small fenced area if the dog run/leash walking are not suitable. My dog doesn't use a crate but I have plenty available all different sizes.

“Autumn did an amazing job for us, and on short notice! Unfortunately, we had to find another sitter a couple of days before our trip, and Autumn stepped up big time! She met our dog's needs while we were gone, ensuring he was okay with the 4th of July fireworks and that he was happy and getting enough exercise throughout the days. She was great at keeping us updated on how things were and ensuring everything was going smoothly. I would definitely recommend Autumn, and we look forward to her watching our dog again.”

“We appreciated Emily coming to stay with Donut and the updates she gave during her stay at our house with him, we would definitely book with Emily again! Thank you!!”

About: I have dog sat and walked dogs for friends, family, and neighbors for the last eight years and approximately two years ago adopted my American Bully, Cane Corso mix named Clementine. I even trained her to be a therapy dog through a lot of training and education. I am comfortable working with rescues as well. I love working with all breeds, but specifically I love working with bully mixes too!! I am comfortable with medication administration, as well as working with dogs that have recently had surgery. My dog had TPLO surgery and took six months to recover so I’m willing to support in that process as well! I also have experience working with rescue dogs. I currently work full-time as a social worker, but I am looking to help with pet sitting on the weekends or dog walks earlier in the morning. In my home, my dog is on a strict schedule which includes brushing her teeth twice a day, administering medication in the morning, a structured walk and enrichment. For your pup, I can do whatever is needed!! my dog is also crate trained, and has been training to be a therapy dog. I am comfortable with dogs that are reactive to other dogs as well. I am able to do boarding in my home but your dog would have to be comfortable with my dog so we would have to do a meet and greet. I do not have a fun fenced in backyard, but I live on a rail trail and take my dog on walks there often. I am also comfortable with dropping in visits, walks, and overnight pet sitting.
About: I have loved animals my whole life. I am looking to start something new and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to grow my career. Rookie here with house and pet sitting. Schedule just opened wide up and taking on new clients and owners. I currently work remote and my schedule is wide open. I Have taken care of Dogs my whole life and enjoy spending time with them. I love taking care of pets like they are part of the family. I work remotely and i can take them potty whenever they need to go. I get two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch.
About: My family has had pets my entire life, and I've grown up with dogs and cats, so the question of how many years of experience I have is difficult to answer. I have a lot of experience being around animals, but I obviously was not the primary caregiver for our pets during my childhood. I am very fond of animals (of course), and would love to get to know your furry friends and help them get out and about! I'm a student in college at UVM, so I am around to hang out with your pets in between and after my classes! Because of the way they are spaced out, I'm usually free midday or in the afternoon/evening. I put a lot of care into making sure your furry friends are happy and healthy while in my care. I keep a close eye on them, and stick mainly to quieter roads that I'm familiar with on walks.
“Kaeleen watched our dog Sadie and cat Mac for a week. She took great care of them. She provided updates and sent pictures. She was respectful to our home. I would recommend her for anyone looking for a great in-house sitter!”

“Kristin is absolutely amazing! From start to finish, she provided outstanding care for our dog, Bruce, and truly went above and beyond to make sure he was happy, safe, and comfortable while we were away. She was extremely professional and reliable—always on time, communicative, and proactive. Kristin sent regular updates and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind. It was clear that Bruce wasn’t just being looked after; he was being loved. When we returned home, Bruce was relaxed, happy, and clearly well cared for. Kristin’s dedication, attention to detail, and genuine love for animals truly set her apart. We can’t recommend her highly enough—she’s our go-to from now on!”
“Veronica is very pleasant and friendly. She took great care of Marley, taking her for her walks and playing ball with her. She gave her all the attention and affection she needed. Marley loved her and when we came home she showed us her affection for her. We would be happy to have Veronica take care of Marley anytime in the future.”

“Meghan was great with our dog, Wally and cat, Cyprus. She was quick to respond to my request and found a time to come over to do a meet and greet. Meghan sent me pictures and updates throughout our whole trip which I really appreciated. I was able to enjoy my trip knowing that my fur babies were being well taken care of! This was my first time using Meghan and I will definitely be using her again in the future!”

About: I pay very close attention to the pets I have and/or watching. I make sure they are all right and get the love, the attention they need and deserve. I have a part time job that I work 2 days a week so I have plenty of time to fit pet into my schedule and I know we'll have lots of fun together!! I feed them when needed, I take them out for nice long walks depending on the weather, and I give them attention when they want it.
“Jessica really helped me out of a bind. She offered to com to my home to meet Zoey at 9 pm the night before a trip when another sitter flaked out on me. She stayed at my home and everything was in place when I arrived home. Would definitely use her again!”

“Michael was great. He came over to meet the dogs a few days before we went away and they hit it off. He was always on time and took great care of the dogs. He was also quick to respond to messages. We highly recommend him to take care of your fur family.”

“She’s amazing. We love her, we were able to travel with peace of mind because she gave us a lot of confidence. We have 3 dogs and they loved her too. We will definitely hire her again.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Nikera! She stayed in our home while we were away and took great care of our pets and home. She kept us updated throughout the trip with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our home was well cared for, and it was clear everyone received lots of attention and love. She also went above and beyond by staying late to accommodate our travel schedule, which we truly appreciated. Her flexibility and kindness made a stressful travel day much easier. She was communicative, reliable, and easy to work with from start to finish. We really appreciated knowing our pets and home were such good hands while we were away and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hillsboro
Our dog loved Anna and had the best time with her. They instantly clicked. Anna sent photos of Mila for morning and evening check ins, videos too! Mila looked like she was on vacation having the time of her life doing all her favorite doggy things. Thank you Anna !

My husband and I raved all weekend about how delighted we were with Anna (and we dog sit through rover ourselves)!! She was extremely communicative, sent multiple photos/videos with updates while we were away, and our doggos both seemed to love the quality time they received with her! If you are hesitant about leaving your babies with someone or worried about having a stranger in your home, then she is the person I’d recommend you take your chances with as we never once had a concern while our dogs were in her care ❤️

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hillsboro on Rover is $57.17 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hillsboro walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hillsboro maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hillsboro choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hillsboro. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
