“I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for my 2 dogs, Ender and Petra. From the very start, communication was excellent. Maria was responsive, attentive, and made sure to keep me up to date. I reviewed photos and saw how happy and relaxed both pups were. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, kind, and professional. Will certainly book again! 🐾”

I only my be unavailable for services between 5pm-7pm as I may be taking my kids to extracurricular activities. I have 2 dogs at home so I welcome pets that get along with other animals. About: [PSA: Aug. Sept. Oct. - limited 'high energy' bookings. Sprain Recovery] Hello! I have years of pet care experience under my belt. Throughout my childhood I was able to grow my love and knowledge of many animals. I had cats dogs and small mammals like hamsters and bunnies growing up I got to help care for and learn about. During my teen years I helped family friends and neighbors with their pets including cats, dogs and even goats and chickens. With a solid foundation in feeding, walking, grooming, medicating, and playing with animals, I look forward to meeting and helping out many more pets throughout my twenties and beyond. [Daytime sits: ends before 9pm] [Night sits: flexibility for me to tend to my critters and other local recurring bookings.] Currently looking to go back to school, growing my expertise as a pet walker and sitter, and taking care of my own pets. I’ll have the free time and consistent schedule to check in and provide care for local pets as well. Safety trust and environment are a must when it comes to pet care. Environmentally I have my eyes peeled for hazards that could harm or cause illness in an animal, and remove those things to where they can’t be a problem. In building trust, I start every interaction with pet psychology in mind. I let them approach me with all of their senses first. Once they become interested in getting to know me, I can continue to show them I’m a safe person through gentle and secure actions on my part like walking carefully and taking softly.

“We cannot recommend Julianna highly enough. From the start, she made us feel so safe and secure, and clearly loves animals. She bonded with Mattie, our beloved cat, and took such good care of him throughout our trip, providing updates, photos and details at each visit. She went above and beyond to make him comfortable, and this anxious cat clearly took to her as well. We look forward to having Julianna watch Mattie again and again.”

About: I grew up in a family used to dogs and cats who have lovingly owned us 😁. I personally have owned mostly cats as I live in a building that does not allow dogs. I have experience in administering medication as well. I work per diem at West Point Military Academy and would not accept a house sitting or walking assignment unless I was truly available the days needed. I love to walk and am very active, so I have absolutely no problem with taking your dog out for walks and playing. My priority is to make sure your pet is secure and loved while you are away.

I’m self-employed with the ability to work remotely, which gives me a very flexible schedule. This allows me to plan my days around your pet’s needs. My husband and I are both big animal lovers. About: I have been around pets since I was 4. All of my family and friends trust and relied on me to take care of their beloved pets. I have worked as a veterinary assistant and a full-time pet nanny for dogs with special needs! I can ensure I will take care of your beloved fur baby! Currently, I am between post-undergraduate and graduate school, leaving me with plenty of time to take care of and spend time with your beloved furry friends! In a client’s home, I would ensure the pet is given more than enough attention and care including walking, feeding, and playing while keeping the home in excellent condition.

“Stephanie is wonderful, and I've been meaning to write a review for a while now. I recently moved to the area, have two dogs with complex needs & have felt so comfortable leaving them in Stephanie's care. She's been helpful with medication administration, and has provided individually tailored support to both my elderly dog, and younger pup with behavioral difficulties. The dogs have a history of scuffles, and Stephanie has been able to follow along with the complex safety plan that I have in place. I've had a previous sitter reject my rescue pup because the dog was too traumatized and anxious. Not Stephanie! She was really confident with my anxious dog and was patient, participating in multiple visits just to get to know her prior to taking on dog walking while I wasn't home. Completely 100% trust and recommend her!”

Pets are welcome on my furniture--while they are here, they are free to make themselves comfortable! Playtime, walks and car rides (if they like them) are encouraged.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hillburn
Kaitlynn was very thorough and thoughtful throughout her care of our cat, Grits. She was also very knowledgeable which gave me so much peace of mind heading out the door! She even took initiative with extra tasks, which made things easier as we settled back in. Thank you, Kaitlynn!! Will definitely get in touch next time we need eyes on our cat.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
