“Cannot recommend Dominique enough! She was available to stay with my dog and cat on relatively short notice as I had to travel for work. She was super attentive, sent tons of cute pictures with updates and took excellent care of my babies. Will definitely be using her again!”

“Stephanie was so great. She has great communication skills, she pays attention to detail, and most importantly took great care of my sweet boys. I appreciated how she kept me in the loop with her schedule and how the boys were doing while I was gone. She’s great and will take amazing care of your pets!”

“Karena was a wonderful pet sitter for us! Our usually skittish chihuahua mix even came to like sitting by jet and getting pets. Her calm caring energy really helps anxious dogs! Karena also sent pics and videos throughout our booking which was very reassuring. Overall, we highly recommend her!”

“Awesome experience - will definitely look to book with her again next time we're out of town. We received great pics while we were away. It was nice seeing our dogs snuggling up with her looking comfortable and relaxed. One of our pups was having some allergy issues while we were away. We received pics pretty quickly when she started looking a little rashy and asking us to confirm how we wanted her to handle it (as we had discussed before the trip). She reacted fast and our dog was happy and healthy by the time we got home with no rash or redness at all. We're very happy to recommend her. Our dogs and our home were in great hands while we were away.”

“Chelsea was AMAZING. This was our first experience with Rover and she set the bar high. She made us feel totally comfortable about the process and was incredibly communicative when it came to the dogs, their routine, etc. We came home to two very happy dogs and a clean house. The best of the best!!”

“Joanne was great! This was our 1st time having a pet sitter and she completely understood our nervousness and special pet needs. My baby was even looking for her today, so she will be missed, and she's welcome to visit any time. I highly recommend her 😍”

“Camryn was amazing. She checked in regularly & sent photos of my 3 pups. I could tell they were having a blast with her. They are all senior gals, the oldest being 17. When I got home, they were all so happy, everything was clean (including them! Which is hard when you're battling incontinence and bladder issues). Camryn is top notch and my gals cannot wait for me to go out of town again!!!”

About: Hello, my name is Lara. I am a long-time educator with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools with 22 years of experience teaching at the elementary and middle school levels. I have lived in the Charlotte area for 38 years and know how important it is to have people who you can trust and rely on in your circle. As a teacher, responsibility, professionalism, communication and timeliness are a part of who I am every day. I bring that level of professionalism to every aspect of house sitting and pet sitting. I have raised two children in Charlotte and currently have two human grandchildren, four dog grands, two cat grands and two lizard grands. Throughout the years I have cared for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, horses, ferrets and pet mice. I am comfortable with feeding routines, long or short walks, administering basic care, providing enrichment, cleaning litter boxes and providing companionship while you are away. I work Monday through Friday, 7:30 to 5:00, in the Concord Mills area. Due to my teaching schedule I would be best suited for: Overnight house sitting Vacation pet sitting Early morning and evening pet care Weekend care Pets that are comfortable being alone during a standard workday I currently work full time with a consistent schedule every day of the week. I get up at 5:00 am and at work by 7:30. My mornings are generally time to prepare for the day ahead and would include a walk if desired, feeding, enrichment and time for cuddles if needed. I return at the end of my work day and will provide a walk, enrichment based on your pet’s preferences, feeding and any needed cleaning. If I am staying at your home there will be additional time before the bedtime routine for time spent together. My general rule for care is always to be safe first and foremost. That means all doors, gates and fences checked when in an area. The yard is checked for safety before we go outside and walks are always on leash with a back up leash for emergencies. I follow your pet’s schedule and your house rules. I am at your home to keep your pet safe and comfortable until you return. This includes multiple times that I will communicate with you daily. Your pet’s safety, comfort and your peace of mind are my goals.

“Tara was great watching our 2 large dogs in our home. She was easy to communicate with and kept us updated daily with messages and pictures. We will definitely use her again.”

“Catherine took great care me of our dog and communicated well and sent pictures during her five night stay. The house was in good shape and everything in order. I would definitely use her again.”

“Savannah was a wonderful pet sitter for our dog Riley and we would definitely use her again. She was very caring, responsible and professional. Savannah had such a gentle way about her when she interacted with Riley and it was very clear that she loved animals. I felt totally comfortable leaving Riley with Savannah and it was such a relief to go away on vacation knowing that Riley was being taken care of so well. We were so lucky to have found Savannah and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a capable and kind per sitter.”

Hickory Ridge pet parents share their Rover experiences
Chelsea was an absolute lifesaver in what turned out to be a pretty stressful situation. I left for a 5-day trip and on day 2, part of my house flooded (where she was staying with my dogs and cat). For the rest of the week I had workers coming in and out to dry and demo the space, and was more than willing to leave my trip early, but she insisted she had it handled and really did. She took the dogs on longer walks when the workers were there and a friend of mine was supervising them, and it truly seemed that the pups were taking all the upheaval in stride. They even continued to eat and take their meds, which I can only attribute Chelsea keeping them comfy and happy. I will definitely be inviting her back to sit once the house is in one piece again! Thank you so much Chelsea!

Brad was excellent! He sent photos everyday. The house looks the same as we left it, maybe even better. He handled giving my dog oral medications well. He also helped coordinate a dog door installation which was unexpected. I would highly recommend Brad for your house sitting needs as the dogs were well cared for and safe.

Shannon has watched my dogs numerous times over the years, and she is absolutely wonderful. She was always so gentle and caring with my older dog, Elektra, especially toward the end when she needed extra care and attention to stay comfortable. My younger dog, Matrix, absolutely adores her. He can be pretty needy, and it’s clear she gives him the love, attention, and cuddles he craves when I’m away. I also really appreciate the regular pictures and updates she sends so I know he’s happy and having a good time!

Chyna was very patient and sweet with our dogs, Belle Rose and Hazel Mae. She was open to setting up a meet and greet since Belle is hesitant around new people. We looked forward to seeing daily updates while we were away and know that Chyna cared for our dogs like they were her own! We plan to reach out to Chyna again when the time comes, and we know Hazel and Belle will be happy to see her again!

HIGHLY recommend Olivia! She stayed at my home over Christmas with my 2 senior greyhounds and she did an amazing job. She sent great updates, asked questions when needed, and I could tell my dogs were comfortable with her. She also left my house in wonderful condition. If you need a reliable dogsitter, book Olivia!

Jordan house and pet (one dog, two cats) sat for us over the Thanksgiving holidays. He did a great job of keeping us posted as to his schedule and sent a lot of pictures, which we always enjoyed, and left our house in fine condition. He was always on time for our pre-trip meet and greets and clearly knows a lot about animal behavior. I will be looking for him the next time we will be out of town, and recommend that you do the same!
