“Alyssa took great care of Henri and Nyx while we were out of town. She played with Nyx and exercised her. She cleaned up messes that our pet made and left the house spotless. Nyx and Henri would like to have her come back another time. :)”

“Wonderful! Great at keeping me updated and being flexible and taking care of the furbabies. Played well with my high energy dog, enjoyed the company of my chill one, and took lots of pictures. Would definitely book with again and likely will for future trips! Absolutely felt like my dogs were well taken care of.”

“Deb did an amazing job with my two full of energy babies. She definitely understands how to handle dogs. This was my first time leaving them with a sitter so I was a bit anxious as to how the dogs would handle it. I got picture updates the entire time. Deb followed all my requests and even went above and beyond by picking up their poop in the backyard, taking out the trash and stripping the bed for easy laundry. I’ll definitely be booking again in the future.”

About: Dogs have been my constant companions throughout my life, and I've loved training and caring for them every step of the way. Currently volunteering with the La Plata County Humane Society has only deepened my commitment to animal welfare. Since I work from home, your pet will rarely be alone. I'll keep you connected with plenty of photos and updates, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your best friend is in loving hands. Since I work from home, your pet will rarely be alone. I do not have any hobbies or obligations that would take me away from them for more than a few hours. If your pet has any special needs, I am sure I can accommodate. I will care for your pets however you may wish! I love playing with dogs, taking them on walks or to the dog park, or simply lounging at home with them. If your pet has any special needs, I am sure I can accommodate.

About: Have taken care of dogs and cats my whole life! Never had a year without living with dogs, cats, and the many other lovely creatures I have as pets. I’m all about getting outside with animals and having fun! I’m currently a F+B manager working nights and have Sunday and Mondays off. Every morning, 6am -12pm, open for any adventure and/or pet care. Love taking care of senior dogs and running with high energy pups. I have no fence around my yard and keep all dogs on a leash or tether when outside and always accompanied when outside. I live right on the Animas River and love to walk my pets down. I have a 3 year old female dog Daisy and a 1 year old black male cat named Felix. Both are friendly and love making new friends! Will always take care of a clients pet and home like it’s my own.

“Emily house-sat for us and watched our dog ,Kuma. She did a great job, took very good care of Kuma, sent photos of him on their walks, watered our plants, and left the house nice and clean. We will definitely use Emily again!”

“Angela was great with my super shy pup! She was very patient and made an effort to bond with her, which is no easy task! I came home to a happy healthy pup! Definitely recommend!”

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats since birth! My dad was a k-9 cop so I’ve been around all kinds of dogs. I love cats too and my cats are my babies!!! I am looking for sitting closer to the downtown Durango area or Home Depot area. I teach preschool in town so I would love to be able to spend quality time with your pets in the mornings before work and in the evenings and weekends after work. I would prefer to be at a client’s home. I live far out of town so it would be more convenient for me to follow the instructions of the client.

“Lucy is great! She is super respectful, responsible, and easy to work with. She took excellent care of our large and active dog for 9 days with lots of dog walks, treats, and snuggles! She sent updates and pictures of our dog to set our minds at ease and left our home clean for our return. I will definitely book Lucy again if she is available! Thank you Lucy!”

About: I grew up with dogs of my own and have dog-sat for several friends and employers. I find dog-walking very meditative, and the personality of dogs can really come alive outdoors. I’m very attentive to energy levels, food/water intake, and of course, play time! I work full time Sunday-Thursday until 3pm. I’m available for drop-in visits and dog walks in the evenings and Fri/Sat. I’m happy to chat more about what your pet care needs look like! Having my own cat, I always cat-proof my home to ensure that my cat is safe whether I am home or not. Before leaving the house, I always ensure my cat has enough food and fresh water. I would not only do this at your home, but I would also leave it better than I found it, treating your home as your sacred space that deserves respect, privacy, and cleanliness.

About: I've been caring for animals as long as I can remember, from chickens to horses, to, of course, dogs! I grew up living near a lot of farmland, so I always had special respect for animals. Being away from home for my education, I miss my parents' dogs and cats a lot. I've spent a lot of time in Durango volunteering to take my friends' dogs to the dog park, on walks, etc. I'm excited to meet you and your pup! Over the summer, I'm working a part-time job that gives me a lot of free time! More likely than not, I'll have time to take care of your pets. I spend a lot of time pet sitting for friends, so I already spend a lot of time at the dog park and going for walks! The most important aspect of pet care for me is communication with owners. I like to have a good idea of what is best for your pet before I care for them, to make sure that the experience is best for everyone.

About: I have my own well behaved 2 year old medium sized dog. In health care and very knowledgeable. Love and care for all animals small or big. Available mainly on Saturday through Monday. But flexible with my current job if needed. Happy to work around my work schedule but free through the weekend and Mondays. I will care and take care of your pet as I would my own. But also take into consideration any of your pets needs and wants.

About: I have had at least one dog in my home since I was a baby. I have years of experience petsitting, walking & loving all shapes & sizes. I have zero problems with administering medications or any special needs your fur baby may have. I work full time. Though, I do have flexibility & a dog at home that will keep your pup entertained, while I’m away. I also have a fenced in yard & plenty of space to run and play! I strive to make your pet feel as comfortable in a new space as possible. From lots of exercise, exploring and maybe even a swim, to familiar blankets, crates, and low noise environments; I can do whatever is necessary to help our new guest feel at home

About: I walked dogs for two years in the Boston area. As a longtime meditator and journalist, I bring careful attention and loving care to all animals I meet! I work remotely as a freelance climate journalist. During house-sitting work, I would be working remotely from your home, and can easily structure my workday around dog-walking and other pet care. I'm eager to go on walks with pets, play with them and give them all the cuddles they need. I will care for your home attentively during my stay.

“David is a very patient and calm dog caregiver. I truly believe dogs have a sixth sense about people and all of my dogs instantly loved him. This might be TMI but one of my dogs had butt surgery and David was even accommodating to the grosser aspects of helping with recovery.”

Gunner G.
“As his wife, I may be biased, but I’ve also seen firsthand how much care, patience, and responsibility Gunner puts into looking after dogs. Whether it's going on long walks, making sure they’re comfortable, or just giving them plenty of attention, he genuinely enjoys being around animals and treats them like part of the family. He’s often the one our friends turn to when they need someone dependable to watch their pets. I know any pup in his care will be safe, happy, and well looked after.”

We always checked to see if Melissa was available first and would highly recommend her.”
