“Lyndsey did a fantastic job taking care of my dog. She had lots of play time and snuggles. She did a great job sending occasional updates. I will be reaching out to Lyndsey again when I need a dog sitter, and I would recommend her to everyone!”

“Tara’s home was a large environment with plenty of backyard conducive to dog boarding. Her children took to our pups lovingly and playfully. We left them feeling comfortable about their care. Our return flight from San Diego was delayed 2+ hrs due to Extreme Heat; this made it literally impossible to make our connection home & meant an extra day before finally got home. Tara adjusted to that no problem, adding another night’s charges while we waited for them to get home from their son’s ballgame. We recvd one photo from Tara while gone and a couple brief “they are doing fine” without details we would like to have heard more. We gave her a full additional day’s charges in cash as a tip when we picked our pups up. We can recommend her to others and would utilize her again as needed.”

“Hannah was amazing . Valarie was very calm coming home and not anxious at all . She responded amazingly with text and pictures . She was flexible with our schedule and just a great first experience with a dog sitter overall.”

“They were awesome with Finn. He only stayed for a short visit because of a change of plans but I still got plenty of great photos of him playing in the yard and being a good boy which was great”

“We have taken Ruby to Kristen multiple times and will do so again without any hesitation. Kristen is fabulous; she is super nice and flexible, and Ruby loves her. We know she is happy and well-taken care of. Thank you, Kristen!”

“Rebecca did a wonderful job providing loving care to my Shih Tzu. She sent to me daily updates and photos; it was so reassuring to know my pup was in the hands of an attentive caregiver.”

“I am so grateful to have found Nancy. I was nervous about leaving my dog, Mazi but this was the perfect place. Mazi is a rescue dog from a life of abuse and very timid and fragile. They were wonderful with her and their dogs were very sweet. The stream of photos sent were very reassuring. I am booking them again for a longer stay and can't express how grateful I am to have a save, loving place for Mazi to stay.”

“Our dog Daisy was very well cared for. This was her first time being away from family and she took to Bree and her husband right away at the meet and greet. That initial interaction was very comforting. We'd love to have Bree sit for Daisy again!”

“Agnatha was amazing. We did the meet and greet while my dog, Cookie, was in perfect health. Unfortunately that evening my dog would need emergency surgery. My hotel wasn't refundable and I was worried about leaving my dog who now had to wear a cone and take medication. But Agnatha said she would be perfectly fine taking care of Cookie post surgery. When we picked Cookie up she was happy and healthy.”

“For my first time ever using Rover, Carli is a great option! She sent lots of photos and multiple updates, which i greatly appreciated! Will definitely be booking with carli again! Loved the experience!”

“Our 11month old puppy had a great time staying an entire week with Emily. We couldn't have been more pleased with Emily's love for animals and expertise of caring for our dog so we could enjoy our trip out town with no concerns about our dog having a great time while we traveled. Our puppy had never been boarded overnight before, is our only pet. Emily coordinated a fantastic meet-n-greet to assure a great boarding experience. Our dog got a long great, while enjoying playing with Emily's family, personal dogs, cat, and bird, and outside in their fenced back yard. Because it was rainy, our dog got pretty muddy (which I'm sure he loved), Emily gave him a good bath and all cleaned up to give us warm greetings when we picked him up. Emily is very responsive and her communication is great! Emily gave us daily updates along with pictures of our dog, which was very much appreciated. We'll definitely look forward to booking with Emily for future boarding needs.”

“Aleisha was amazing with our 1 year old pup. As a rescue he does have anxiety being left alone and she handled him beautifully! The pictures throughout his stay really helped to ease my mind as I had never parted with my dog before for any amount of time! She made it a very easy transition and worked with my same day notice! Couldn’t of had a better experience!”

“Alexis did an amazing job with Wrigley! Alexis was flexible with our booking and accepted on very short notice. She was very responsive to messages and sent daily updates with pictures. We will definitely be using her again! She loved on Wrigley treated her just like her own.”

“Our dog Harley does not like change. She spent 3 days at Carter and Mindy's home. They did everything they could to make her feel comfortable! Thank you so much for going that extra mile!”

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
96% of sitters in Helmer can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Helmer home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Helmer.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
