“Becca went above and beyond to take care of our dog blue while we were on vacation. Blue was boarding with Becca and her husband at their place. They would make Blue delicious, nutritious food everyday. The pure excitement in blue’s eyes when he sees the food shows in the pictures Becca send us regularly. We get multiple updates of blue everyday with tons of pictures. Becca and her husband even took blue to Ithaca falls and let him play in the water. Blue got exercised more than we asked for. Blue had problems with allergies during his stay with Becca, but they took good care of blue: wiping his paws after every walk, and feeding him medication hided in a cheese wrap everyday. If you want someone that’s attentive, treats your dog like their own dog, goes above and beyond to meet the individual needs of your dog, and send you updates constantly without you even needing to ask, choose Becca! My boyfriend and I are so grateful for Becca and her husband’s effort in taking care of Blue. They are the ones that made us relaxed enough to enjoy our vacation - knowing that blue is in good hands. About: I've had pets in my life since the day I was born, and as a teen I spent several years working in an animal shelter, caring for animals and working with the health team. I'm experienced with puppies, elderly dogs, dogs with behavioral challenges, and visually impaired and deaf animals. I've also cared for dogs with serious health needs like cancer and diabetes. I'm not a vet or vet tech, but I'm comfortable with basic care like changing a bandage, and I know how to respond in an emergency and reach the nearest emergency care. I've boarded dogs over 100 pounds, and they do great with my dog Leo, a 16 pound Jack Russell dachshund mix who has graduated from obedience and agility courses about five times. I also sit cats, birds, small critters, and reptiles. For dogs, I like to start with a neutral meet and greet, so I ask for two weeks notice, though I'm flexible in emergencies. If you'd like, I can also arrange grooming and specialized training as an additional service while your pet is in my care, provided through a licensed groomer and trainer. Your pet will be treated like family. I work from home, so I offer daytime care during work hours as well as overnight boarding while you travel. Your pet gets plenty of one-on-one time and extra TLC when needed. All pet care happens in my home on a quiet street in the Village of Manchester. I work remotely, so your pet is never left alone for long. Dogs get lots of one-on-one time, and I'm happy to send updates so you always know how your pet is doing. I start with a neutral meet and greet to make sure everyone gets along with my dog Leo. I have a large backyard with natural tree lines and barriers, but safety comes first. Any dog in my care stays on a leash or tie out whenever they're outside, with no exceptions, even if a yard is fenced. I'm happy to take short walks into the yard, and if your pet prefers pet pads, I can provide those. Cats get a quiet room behind closed doors, separate from my own cats, and can stay in their crate, come out, or sit with me in my office. I know how to respond in an emergency and how to reach the nearest emergency care.
About: I have worked with dogs and cats in General practice vet clinics and ER vet clinics for over three years. I also have experience volunteering at animal shelters and dog sitting/cat sitting. My schedule is very flexible and I am available most days and times for your pet! I am even able to care for pets on weekends, early mornings and evenings. I have a one bedroom apartment and no animals in the house.I can keep up with feeding schedules, walking schedules, and any medical needs your pet may have such as providing medication. About: I've had dogs my entire life from puppies to rescues! I've also been a grooming salon manager in Ithaca for 9 years. I've cared for many different breeds, ages, temperaments, and quirks all dogs have and I love them all the same. I have two dogs of my own Luke and Yoda. Luke is a 6 year old lab mix around 35 lbs. He is very loving and playful. Yoda is a 5 year old miniature fox terrier mix who has unlimited energy and is the sweetest snuggler. I am home all day with my baby and two dogs of my own so I can give the same care to some extra dogs! I treat every dog as if they are my own. I have lots of extra blankets to make sure they have there own space (i do recommend to bring some of there stuff like blankets, beds, and toys to make them more comfortable) and have extra room to separate them if they need to be alone. I will always make sure they are comfortable, happy, loved, and safe!
