About: Hi! I’m Zinia, a stay-at-home mom living in North Liberty with my husband, Grant, a resident physician at UIHC, and our 2-year-old daughter, Zoe. We lost our sweet Yorkshire Terrier, Missy, to old age after 15 years together. She was such a big part of our family, and we really miss having a dog around! We’re not quite ready to get another dog of our own, but we’d love to have a furry friend to spoil every now and then. That’s really what brought me to Rover. We miss the company of a dog, and I thought this would be a nice way to have one around from time to time while helping out other dog owners. Zoe grew up with Missy and absolutely loves dogs. She’s a gentle little girl who loves to cuddle, read books, and watch movies with any dog willing to keep her company. She’s used to being around small dogs, but of course, I’ll always supervise their interactions. Your dog and Zoe will never be left alone together. Since I’m home with Zoe during the day, your pup will have plenty of company and attention. We like to spend our mornings outside, going for walks around the neighborhood or exploring the nearby trails and parks. We usually go for another walk in the evening, too. The rest of our day is pretty relaxed, with lots of time for playing, lounging around, and cuddling on the couch. Our yard isn’t fenced, so all potty breaks will be on a leash. I take dogs out every couple of hours and more often if they need it. We only take dogs from one family at a time, whether that’s one dog or a few from the same household. We’re really just doing this because we miss having a dog around, so we’d rather keep things small and enjoy spending time with the dogs we have staying with us. That way, each pup gets plenty of love and attention, just like Missy did. I am out of school and I'm home all day on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I have a part-time job working as a dental assistant on Tues-Wed-Thurs, from 9am-2 pm. However, the hours are flexible as I can leave late or arrive early or not go if I'm busy and it is more of a learning experience for me. So I can be a little flexible, so shoot me a message and we can figure it out :) I live in an apartment, but make no mistake, we spend plenty of time outside! Throughout the day, I keep owners updated with photos, videos, and messages to provide peace of mind. We're fortunate to reside near a dog park, allowing for daily visits to keep our furry guests active and entertained. Exercise and playtime are essential parts of our routine, and I'm more than happy to ensure your dog gets ample opportunity to socialize and have a blast. In our home, we prioritize comfort and relaxation, so you won't find any crates here. Instead, your pup will have free reign to chill on the couch and enjoy the cozy atmosphere. If I need to step out briefly for a quick errand, I'll make sure to secure the bedroom doors and let them have full access to the living room. “This was a wonderful experience! When Kona first met Micki she ran right up to her wagging her tail which was a great peace of mind for us. Previously a couple of times we have taken her to a kennel but it was so difficult knowing that she was alone in a sea of other lonely pets so having her be the focus in a family was a relief and happy experience for all of us! About: I’ve watched many dogs and two cats over the past 4 years usually over family friend vacations. I’ve worked with reactive dogs as well as two young puppies. I spoil my dogs and would be happy to treat your pets with just as much love! I am a part time college student so I have a TON of time to pet sit! As I prepare for dental school in the fall, I will also be free for summer work. I love staying with dogs in either an environment they are used to or my own depending on what the pet parent prefers! There is a fenced in dog park behind my apartment that is never occupied where I run around with dogs. If it is occupied, I would walk around the park nearby with lots to smell on the trail. I also love giving dog baths, so that could totally be included!

About: I have grown up with dogs and animals of all sizes my whole life! I currently have a family dog back at home in Illinois (cavachon, 6 years old) who I miss taking care of deeply. I am in med school here in Iowa city for the summer and have very flexible hours, weekends, and payment choices! As I mentioned earlier, I am an ultrasound student in Iowa City Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. I have certain days off through the week / available almost every weekend! I live at a graduate student / health care worker apartment complex with a dog park and lots of grass and greenery / walking trails all around the complex! Very animal friendly buildings. I also live alone and have a lot of space!
