About: Growing up in the country, I cared for pets and farm animals. My experience and love for all creatures began there! Interacting with them has always been the highlight of my day. From cats, dogs, small animals, aquatic life and reptiles, to horses, dairy goats, birds, pigs and chickens, I have you covered! I've owned most, and cared for the rest. No matter what, I keep critters close! As a child was rarely seen without an animal or flock in tow. I raised pigs, chickens, dove, rabbits. As well as trained dogs and horses. Later on In Edna, I was a ranch hand on a small dairy farm. Now living in the city, I care mostly for cats and dogs, but I still love them all! I wouldn't imagine my life any other way! I have a very open and movable schedule. I can pretty much work with anything. The safety and care of your pup is always at the top of my list. I have a fenced yard with a large shaded area. Indoor and crate training is also great. I will make sure they are comfortable and safe.
“Kyla is truly the best! She has been watching my dog since she was 3 and I never have to worry about how she’s doing when I’m gone. Kyla really goes out of her way to make her feel comfortable and happy while i am gone. 10/10 high recommend!”

“I had a great experience with Gaby (Shannon)! This was my first time using Rover and having a house sitter for Belford, and I couldn’t have asked for better care. She made the whole process easy and reassuring. I really appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. On top of that, Gaby went above and beyond by washing the bed sheets—even though it wasn’t required—which was such a thoughtful touch. My home was left in great condition, making coming back even better. I’d absolutely book with Gaby again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive pet sitter!”

“Monika house-sat for our Husky, Pitbull and our cat for 17 nights while we were overseas, and she was outstanding. Daily photo updates without us asking, consistent cleaning and feeding schedules, and all animals were calm and healthy when we got home — which says everything after two-plus weeks. Zero worries the entire trip, and for an international trip that peace of mind is worth more than the booking fee. We'll rebook her without hesitation.”

“5 Stars for Nelson! Nelson is hands down the best pet sitter out there! I recently had the absolute pleasure of trusting Nelson to care for my pets while I was away, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the very start, he showed deep concern and thoughtful attention—not just to tasks, but to the emotional and physical well-being of my pets. He kept me consistently updated with sweet photos and messages, took initiative by changing the cat litter without being asked, and played wholeheartedly with the dogs. He even took Missy on multiple walks—completely unprompted—simply because he cared. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. What really blew me away is how Missy, who doesn’t warm up easily to people (especially men), loved Nelson. That’s practically a miracle in itself—and speaks volumes about his gentle energy, patience, and kindness. Nelson gave me genuine peace of mind. His heart, intuition, and respect for my pets’ personalities make him incomparable. If you’re looking for someone who goes above and beyond and truly gets animals, Nelson is the one. Missy already misses him—and honestly, so do I!”

“Jasmine did an absolutely outstanding job dog sitting Miles and Chase while we were away on vacation! She went above and beyond with their care, providing regular updates and sharing plenty of pictures that kept our minds completely at ease. We were welcomed back to incredibly happy dogs and a beautifully clean home. Thank you, Jasmine, for everything! We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“Keliann is heaven sent! We’ve used her a couple of times now from drop ins to house sitting and can’t say enough good things about her. I love that she sends us daily updates and pictures while we’re gone to let us know how our babies are doing. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Lanette took wonderful care of my two pups! She was very accommodating- One of our dogs is very protective of me and doesn't get along with new people for a while, but Lanette did come over a few times before the stay to help get him more comfortable with her. During the stay our protective little pup came out of his shell, fell in love, and wouldn't leave her alone! She was very patient with him and that was exactly what he needed! We got lots of pictures and videos, which was very comforting for my boyfriend and I. We highly recommend Lanette!”

“Jasmin has watched our dogs before and she always does such a great job. One of our dogs is on a raw diet with probiotics galore and she does great with all the instructions. Such a lifesaver to have her stay in our house as our senior dog has never stayed anywhere else. We are blessed to have found her as our go-to gal! She gets our mail and keeps our plants alive which is just an added bonus! Thank you!”

“Jordan took good care of Chance he kept my bay for 4 days while I went out of town to take care of some important business…. He left my home just the way it was when I left . Nice guy thank you Jordan”

About: I’ve always had a pet at home, so caring for animals has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, and even a frog, and I currently share my space with a friendly 3-year-old Yorkie and a curious little lizard. Every animal I’ve cared for has taught me something new about patience, communication, and love. As a college senior, I balance my studies with daily walks, feeding schedules, and playtime for my Yorkie. Managing school and pet care has helped me become extremely reliable, organized, and attentive to every detail, qualities I bring to every pet I watch. What sets me apart is my genuine passion for animals and my ability to make each pet feel comfortable and safe. Whether it’s a shy dog, an energetic puppy, or a pet with special routines, I take the time to understand their needs and make them feel at home while you’re away. Now that my soccer season is over, my schedule is much more flexible, even though I still work part-time at Petco. I have classes during the day, but I’m free after 3 p.m. on weekdays and completely open on weekends. I’m also off on Fridays, which gives me extra time for longer walks, drop-ins, or weekend stays. Even with a busy schedule, I make pet care a top priority. Balancing school, work, and caring for my own Yorkie has taught me how to stay organized and dependable. You can always count on me to be punctual, communicative, and attentive to your pet’s needs. Safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I live in an apartment, but I make sure my 3-year-old Yorkie, Zeus, stays active and happy, he gets walked 2-3 times a day and we go to the dog park as often as possible. That means visiting pets can expect plenty of outdoor time, walks, and safe play under my supervision. When caring for pets in my home, I keep the space clean, calm, and pet-friendly. Zeus is social and gentle with other dogs, which helps create a relaxed, welcoming environment. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat it with the same respect as my own. I carefully follow each pet’s routine, make sure doors and gates are secure, and send regular updates with photos so you can feel at ease knowing your pet is safe, loved, and cared for.

“Sydney was absolutely wonderful! Before our appointment, she took the time to meet Mona, get familiar with our area, and understand all of her needs. On the day of the appointment, she was punctual, and kept me updated throughout, which I really appreciate it. Most importantly, Mona was so happy to spend time with her! I highly recommend Sydney and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Thank you Sydney!!!”

“Milton did a FANTASTIC job watching our dogs! Him being here made us feel much more comfortable with us being away. I would recommend Milton to anyone who is looking for someone to watch their dogs. 😊”

About: I have over two years of hands-on experience working at a busy doggy daycare and boarding facility, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. My responsibilities included supervising group play, ensuring a safe and clean environment, feeding, administering basic care, and closely monitoring each dog’s behavior and well-being. I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me. In addition to my daycare experience, I also provide housesitting services for some of my regular clients, giving their pets personalized, one-on-one care in a familiar environment. I’m comfortable handling multiple dogs at once, recognizing body language and signs of stress, and making sure every pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule and am happy to accommodate boarding requests at any time, as long as there’s clear communication and some flexibility around my school schedule. I appreciate advance notice so I can plan accordingly and give your pet the best care possible. For dog walking, I’m currently available after 2:00 PM each day until May 7. After that date, I’ll have open availability, as long as bookings are made ahead of time. When I’m house sitting, my goal is to keep your dog’s routine as normal and stress-free as possible while you’re away. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water at all times, and get plenty of exercise, whether that’s walks, playtime, or just being outside. I also spend quality time with them so they feel comfortable and not alone—this includes attention, affection, and sticking to any routines they’re used to. I’m very attentive to their behavior and will let you know right away if anything seems off. I respect your home and keep everything clean and organized while you’re away. I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease knowing your pet is in good hands.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,077 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Guy. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Guy walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Guy maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Guy choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Guy. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
