Jasmin has watched our dogs before and she always does such a great job. One of our dogs is on a raw diet with probiotics galore and she does great with all the instructions. Such a lifesaver to have her stay in our house as our senior dog has never stayed anywhere else. We are blessed to have found her as our go-to gal! She gets our mail and keeps our plants alive which is just an added bonus! Thank you!

This was our first time to have Tamanda over to pet/house sit for us and she did an amazing job. She took care of all the things I asked her to do and was very up front with me when she had to run errands. When we returned home, everything was just as I left it and of course the most important thing is that she took excellent care of my babies as I could tell when I got home. She put her heart into it!! Thanks again Tamanda. You Rock!!

About: Growing up in the country, I cared for pets and farm animals. My experience and love for all creatures began there! Interacting with them has always been the highlight of my day. From cats, dogs, small animals, aquatic life and reptiles, to horses, dairy goats, birds, pigs and chickens, I have you covered! I've owned most, and cared for the rest. No matter what, I keep critters close! As a child was rarely seen without an animal or flock in tow. I raised pigs, chickens, dove, rabbits. As well as trained dogs and horses. Later on In Edna, I was a ranch hand on a small dairy farm. Now living in the city, I care mostly for cats and dogs, but I still love them all! I wouldn't imagine my life any other way! I have a very open and movable schedule. I can pretty much work with anything. The safety and care of your pup is always at the top of my list. I have a fenced yard with a large shaded area. Indoor and crate training is also great. I will make sure they are comfortable and safe.

About: I've cared for pets for many years. I rescued a cat during Hurricane Harvey in Houston and helped nurse it back to health, with the help of the Houston Humane Society. I've cared for the pets of my friends and family. I truly love animals and get along well with all of them. I provide them with a fun and safe environment, filled with love and care. Whether you're in need of a day sitter, or boarding for a short period of time, I'm available with open arms lol! Pet care starts with self care, and I definitely take good care of myself lol! I look forward to each and every new furry friend I'll make, and I hope to bring them as much joy as they bring to me!

About: I have loved animals ever since I was a little girl! Especially dogs! I grew up wanting a big house full of dogs and ever since I was in high school I have dog sat for families and friends! I have had a hard time in the past finding someone to watch my pup when I’ve been out of town so I would love to offer first class service to help others! I currently work full-time, however, I work from home so I have plenty of time for your pup! I am available every weekday and most weekends! I live in an apartment, however I have lots of space for your pet to run around and play and be crated if needed! There is an on site dog park and plenty of parks near by for walking and playing!

Cher is a 5 star house sitter taking care of my 4 year old golden retriever for 3 weeks while I was out of the country. She strike me as trustworthy, extremely clean, and very cautious when walking and monitoring your dog so you know you are in good hands and can travel in peace :) Cher cleaned up and even sanitized the apartment and her guest room, which is a pleasant surprise above and beyond her dog sitting responsibilities. (She also fixed my paper shredded which was broken for a while!). I also enjoyed the daily updates of my baby with photos and videos. Overall, highly recommended!

About: I grew up with both dogs and cats and have been caring for animals my entire life. My family dog, Misty, is 14 years old, and I've cared for her since she was a puppy. Over the years, I trained her, took her on daily walks, fed her, and cared for her through every stage of her life. Caring for Misty for the past 14 years has given me firsthand experience with both energetic puppies and senior dogs. As Misty has gotten older, she was diagnosed with AIHA (Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia), which has required careful medication management, close monitoring, and a specialized diet. Through this experience, I've become comfortable administering oral medications, following detailed care routines, and recognizing when a pet may need extra attention.I truly understand that every pet has unique needs and deserves patience, love, and dependable care. Whether your pet needs long walks, playtime, cuddles, medication, or simply someone to keep them company, I'll treat them with the same level of care and affection that I give my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and in caring hands while you're away. I currently work full-time Monday through Thursday, but I have a one-hour lunch break that allows me to return home for drop-in visits, walks, potty breaks, feeding, medication administration (if needed), and quality time with your pet. From Friday through Sunday, I have a much more flexible schedule and am available throughout the day to provide attentive care based on your pet's individual needs. Whether it's walks, playtime and mental stimulation, feeding, medication, or simply lots of love and companionship, I'll make sure your pet feels safe and well cared for. I am also available for boarding Friday through Sunday. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I offer house sitting, drop-in visits, and boarding, and I tailor my care to each pet's routine and individual needs. During drop-in visits, I'll make sure your pet is fed, has fresh water, gets potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and plenty of affection. If needed, I can also administer medications and provide updates with photos so you have peace of mind. For house sitting, I strive to keep your pet's routine as consistent as possible by caring for them in the comfort of their own home. I'll follow your instructions closely, provide companionship, walks, feeding, medication (if needed), and keep your home clean and secure while you're away. For boarding, your pet will stay in a safe, clean, and loving home where they'll receive lots of attention, exercise, playtime, and supervised care. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, so I take the time to make them feel comfortable and at home. I treat every pet as if they were my own and will always keep you updated throughout their stay with photos and messages so you can feel confident they're in good hands.

FAQs for House Sitting - Newgulf

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 366 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Newgulf. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Newgulf walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Newgulf maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newgulf choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newgulf. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
