“My Stella really enjoyed the drop-in visits from Sydney while I was out of town! It takes a special person to take care of my overly loving 80 pound German Shepherd mix. Sydney is great!”

“We were wanting to sightsee in DC and needed a place for our fur babies, a friend said to try Rover. I set up an account and we were able to get Kimberly to come over to our camper and let the girls out and do thier evening feeding. She was amazing and I would highly recommend her and if in the area again we will definitely use her”

“Jessica was awesome! We loved the updates and pictures of our kitty while we were gone and she even looked after our feral kitties and possum (great for killing ticks). We will definitely be using her again!”

About: ✅ 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙏𝙪𝙗𝙚, 𝙏𝙞𝙠𝙏𝙤𝙠, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙗𝙮 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙗𝙡𝙖𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙆9 𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨. Hey there, Pet Parents! Nice to meet you virtually! I'm Seyla, a dog enthusiast who's finally living the dream of having a furry companion. You see, my childhood dream of owning a dog was delayed due to public housing restrictions, but now that I'm a proud homeowner with a fenced yard, I've got my paws full! Currently, I share my home with four fantastic dogs who are not only friendly but also well-trained. My very first four-legged friend was Bruno, the Rottweiler, and we've been inseparable since he was a pup. Bruno received top-notch training at Apple Jack's K9 in St. Mary's County, and I've been using the valuable tools and techniques I learned there ever since. As if four dogs weren't enough, I'm also a part-time volunteer at "Rescue Angels of Southern Maryland," where we rescue animals from less-than-ideal situations. And, on top of that, I've opened my heart and home to foster dogs from the Humane Society of Charles County. It's safe to say that I have a deep and abiding love for our furry friends! So, why should you entrust your fur baby to me? Well, I've got about 8 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, and I genuinely believe I offer the best boarding and doggy daycare service around, spanning a radius of at least 50 miles (if not more). Don't just take my word for it—visit our Facebook page (spRover80) to watch videos, view pictures, and read the glowing reviews. You'll see for yourself that you're getting the most bang for your buck! If you adore your dog as much as I love mine, I understand how nerve-wracking it can be to leave them with someone new. But I'm here to show you just how much I adore dogs by offering an array of wonderful activities. Your furry companion will join me on invigorating hikes and walks (twice daily), covering 1-2 miles each time, as we explore some of the finest parks (see below for the full list) in Southern Maryland, at least in my opinion! For those who enjoy a leisurely ride, your dog can hop into our doggy bike trailer as we embark on 2-7 mile adventures. And when the weather warms up, we've got a swimming pool for our canine guests to cool off in. Inside the house, your dog will have the run of the place (provided they're house trained), and they can choose from an array of toys to play with. To keep them well-hydrated, we have water stations throughout the house stocked with purified water, regularly cleaned and refilled. Rest assured, your furry friend will be in great hands, and we'll make sure they have a tail-wagging good time during their stay! Parks & Trails: 1. Smallwood State Park 2. Friendship Farm Park 3. Thomas Stone Historic Site My better half and I are both 'work-from-homers,' so you can bet your dog's last chew toy that there'll always be a pair of eyes on them. We won't even let them sneak off to the bathroom alone! Here in the wilds of Indian Head, Maryland, we've got a sprawling 1-acre playground enclosed by a fence that's taller than Shaq (okay, maybe not that tall, but it's secure). I've gone all James Bond with 21 motion detectors and security cameras, ensuring that every nook and cranny is under surveillance—inside and outside! We're serious about safety, folks! Now, here's the deal: we're all about accommodating friendly dogs. Your pet's safety is our mission, like it's our secret spy mission! 🕵️♂️🐾 And for those sneaky escape artists, the ones who think they're auditioning for the next great canine escape movie, we've got a secret weapon – the Fi GPS collar. If your dog has a history of vanishing acts or tends to pull a Houdini, consider it their high-tech tracking device for the duration of their stay. Thanks a million for taking the time to read my profile, and if you've got any questions, don't hesitate to shoot me a message. We're here to make sure your dog's adventure with us is safe, secure, and seriously fun!

About: Hi there! My name is Sam and I have experience sitting for all types of animals. From cuddly Pyrenees, and scary-smart German pinschers, to spunky chinchillas, their best cat friends, and curious pythons. I have been through partial behavioral training for dogs (and their humans), and have experience with animal hospice situations, as well as behaviorally aggressive dogs. I prefer to keep the animal's care as consistent as possible. The more details you have of your preferred method of walking, reward, or preparation habits, the better. Trust and care are my number one goals when it comes to animal sitting. Not just with the four legged babies, but with the parents as well. I know how important it is to feel comfortable with your care provider, and what a treat it is to know that you can trust someone with the care of your loved ones. Also, aren't dogs just perfect? I work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and am currently on telework, so my weekly availability is early morning, and late afternoon. I also volunteer at the Old Dominion Humaine Society and occasionally foster for them at my house. I have one <1 year old puppy, and I have a home with a large yard but no fence. That means all foster dogs get leash walked always and there are many mind teaser toys for rainy days. I feed in crates and make it a safe space for them to decompress.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals and feel very comfortable handling pets with different needs and personalities. I currently work in recreational therapy twice a week, which has helped me develop patience, responsibility, and strong attention to detail skills that carry over into providing safe and attentive pet care. As an online college student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets the time, consistency, an supervision they deserve. At home, our family has five dogs, so I am very familiar with managing multiple pets at once and maintaining consistent schedules. In addition to daily care, I have experience with overnight dog sitting that includes week-long stays where I handled feeding, walks, playtime and managing pet's normal routines. I have cared for puppies, senior dogs, and cats and I understand how to adjust care depending on energy level and age. I have also taken care of chickens while house sitting, so I am comfortable with a variety of animals beyond just dogs and cats. I am able to drive, which allies me to be available for drop ins, walks, and emergencies if needed. Overall, I am dedicated to making families feel safe with leaving their pets at home and making the pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I currently work part time and am an online college student. I work Wednesday and Friday nights from 4pm-9pm. For my college classes I do not have to be on any type of zoom, so I do my course work at my own pace. I provide care in my clients home so pets can stay in a familiar, low-stress environment and maintain their normal routine. I follow all care instructions including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any specific preferences the owner provides. Safety is my top priority. I make sure doors, gates, and crates are secure and keep pets aware from anything that may be unsafe. I work to build trust with both owners and pets by being consistent, patient, and respectful of each pet's personality. I also have reliable transportation, so if an emergency does arise I can provide additional needs.
About: I believe you treat all animals like if they are your pet. I’m known to overly spoil my animals with love, funny voices, and care. I will keep you updated with pictures and videos and your pets are in exceptional care. I have an open schedule to cover their needs and care while I’m on duty and they become my family for the time they are with me. I’ve been taking care of cats and dogs for over 15 years typically small and medium sized dogs. I do have experience with some larger breeds on basic essential needs and care. I went through a battle of IVDD with my French Bulldog who passed which took a role on how I view the time with animals in general. I have an open schedule and extremely accommodating to your needs. I can work around the necessary schedule. I work this full time and if I don’t have any sitting I also run deliveries. I have a safe and trusted environment. I have one dog who gets along with other dogs but he is hyper and wants to play and nap consistently. I have a cat who does her own thing so my house is relaxed. No little kids and just me and my partner which she works from home so there’s always someone at home.

“April is very easy to get along with and gave excellent care to our cat Miss Pepper. April sent me pictures of our feline at each visit and informed me of package deliveries. Upon my request she checked the water taps drip to ensure the water doesn’t freeze. I highly recommend her.”

About: i've taken care of animals of all kinds my whole life from personal experience to holding jobs at doggy specific businesses! i've done it all from daycare/boarding to all natural and holistic feeding and care :) i currently work throughout the week/weekend but i'm very flexible on my days off as well as i could definitely take a walk or two after my work day is over, usually around 4pm or sooner :) i currently live out in the woods on a little bit of land with my fiancee and our 3 pups! they absolutely love their outside time but of course safety is of the most importance so our pups have been extensively trained off leash to avoid any wild life, potential dangers, and just to have amazing recall. i definitely understand though that this isn't the case for all pups and that's totally okay so when coming to care for your pup i'd take the most precaution to ensure everyone stays happy, healthy, and playing!
About: I have had my baby Dakota for 6 years, ever since she was a pup! I have seen all stages and loved her through them all. I would love to provide that same love to your baby when you are not around! After having Dakota, I definitely understand the term “a dog is a man’s best friend”. She has loved me through so many stages of life and helped me overcome a lot. I cherish her presence and company like no other. I would love to care for your baby as if they were my own while you are in need of time away. I work a 9-5. I will care for your pet in the morning before I leave and as soon as I return home. Then take them to the park to have a fun time and socialize. I live in a single family home. I will ensure your baby is cared for and receiving their exercise. For example, walks, activities outside, or even allowing them to frolic outside.
About: I’ve had 3 dogs since I was 15 years old and have volunteered at animal shelters since college. I love animals, they warm my heart and deserve the world. I currently work remotely for a 9-5. My schedule is open during the day and have a lot of free time for dog cuddles and walks. I have a fenced in yard, I do not walk without a leash and carry a stick for any unexpected foul play from other dogs.
About: My name is Taylor and I am a veterinary technician servicing the DMV area. I have been working with dogs specifically since I was 15 and cats since I was 18. I personally have a cat and have had dogs in the past, and I understand the stress put on the importance of finding someone that you can trust to watch your animals while you are away. Safety is my upmost concern and as a veterinary technician and a groomer, I am very experienced in dog and cat care and would love to babysit your little angel! I can't wait to meet you and thanks for visiting my profile! I currently work from home so I have more than enough time to devote to your pet and their individual needs. My hours are not necessarily tied to a desk or computer either, so I am able to do walks freely throughout the day. Depending on the customers request, I am able to accommodate most housing accomodations. There is a room specifically designated in the house for the pet for the duration of the stay, which has toys, beds, food and water as well as a TV. it’s also a daybed for me as well so that I am able to stay in the room with your pet. My backyard is large and it’s open, however I will be keeping pers on-leash anytime they are outside.
“Uduak was wonderful! She was communicative with my husband and I, and very patient with my pup who is not comfortable with new people. Uduak followed instructions to a tee, and also used her discernment in caring for Mozzy (even cleaning up an accident he had without us requesting she do so). 10 out of 10 would recommend. We will definitely be using her services again in the future.”

“This was our first time booking a cat sitter via Rover and Bri exceeded our expectations and hopes. She took wonderful care of our cat and sent us photos and updates, which was wonderful. Highly recommend and will definitely book her again!!”

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:

- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
