“Sarah was so wonderful! She took great care of our two cats while we were away, providing pictures for us and was in constant communication the entire time. Sarah was on time, very reliable and trustworthy. I would highly recommend her!”

“Robin kept my Golden for a week and I think he misses her.? She gave him lots of attention. Robin also checked in on my cat and I arrived home to find him happy and content. It was like there was no interruption in their routine. She kept me updated with messages and pictures. Leaving my fur babies in Robins capable care allowed me to really enjoy my vacation! Definitely recommend!!”

About: Growing up with dogs has led me to be comfortable of dogs any size, but I have grown up with only smaller dogs! I have had dogs with special accommodations so I am more than happy to accommodate! I love going on walks, to the park, & playing with any pup no matter the size & personality!!! I’m currently working part time so I’ll have plenty time to come take care of your sweet doggies! They’re family too! Some days can be a little busy, but we can work something out no problem!!! Growing up with dogs, I have no problem making the dogs feel the most comfortable whether it’s sleeping with someone or in a crate, etc!
“cannot say enough wonderful things about Lynne! She has been absolutely amazing with my pets; truly going above and beyond every single time. Not only is she completely reliable and trustworthy, but she treats my animals with the same love and kindness she would give her own.”

About: I’m reliable and flexible. I will spend quality time with your babies. I will take them for walks and play. I will love them like they are my own. I can follow whatever routine you have. I do work full time but before and after work won’t be a problem. I will make sure to keep them on the same routine. I can care for your pets in your home better than them being boarded or kenneled. I can housesit and take care of your pets. If your dogs need to be bathed I can bath them.
“Grayson was great with my cats. She fed them and made sure they had water as well as interacted with them. They are a bit shy and she was able to pet them and that really surprised me.”

About: I am very patient and understanding. I will work with you as much as I can. I have experience giving medications. I will update daily. I am free everyday. I can check in on them any time. I have 10+ years experience and references and reliable transportation. I can come to you if needed. I will make sure to tell the owners to give me a checklist of things that needs to be done and how to care for their pets.
About: I have been around a wide variety of dogs and cats ever since I was born. I have been dog and cat sitting both in my Home and at the pet owners home for almost 20 years. I have taken care of dogs and cats, both ones that I had prior experience with and new ones that didn't know me before we initially met. I don't believe I've ever met a dog or cat that didn't like me. I already own a dog, and I frequently take her outside and give her walks. I am used to having all sorts of dogs both in my my home, and staying at the owner's home. My back yard is fully fenced in, and I always use leashes/leads if we go out the front door (for walks or if I'm mowing the lawn for example. If you have a Cat I will take them outside or keep them inside, whichever you prefer. My street ends in a dead end, so there is not a lot of traffic on it. If your pets are more comfortable in your home I am happy to take care of them there, and have experience with it. There are stairs in my house to a basement, but there is a door at the top that remains closed to keep pets from hurting themselves on the stairs. Pets are allowed on furniture in my home (unless you would prefer otherwise,) and if they enjoy sleeping on the bed I am happy to allow them to do that. I keep a stock of Greenies, Marrowbones, and Dental Chew Sticks, and will give them out with any schedule you provide, or you can bring your own.
About: I've had pets my entire life. I currently have a 12 year old Cocker Spaniel named Sophie. She is getting on in years and requires a little extra care. I am able to care for older pets that may require extra TLC as well as younger pets. I would love to care for your babies! I currently work three days a week, so Saturday through Wednesdays are best for me. I will try to work with you on the other days if needed! I have a fenced in backyard and a sweet girl to keep your pet company. I can crate your pet if needed. I am also available to sit with your pet and go for walks.
“Kaleigh took great care of our dogs while we were away. She sent pictures and left details every day and was very communicative. She was generous with her time with the dogs and was genuinely concerned for them. I would definitely have her watch the dogs in the future.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, and birds since I was 13. Nothing professional but experienced in animal care and daily tasks for your pets! I currently work 8am to 4pm from home so I am available throughout the majority of the week, except Sundays and nights past 6 or 7pm. I have a big yard for a lot of running and I have a friendly and energetic pup that would love to keep yours company!
“We hadn’t used Rover since 2016 and we’re happy when we re-logged in and found Robert. He was very attentive and took care of our two senior dogs. we were so pleased with his updates on how our dogs were doing. He even brought his own tennis balls for the dogs to play with, and left them for us to keep! We would definitely use him again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Gulf Shores
This was our first time using Rover. Graham’s drop ins for our 9 month old kitten were consistent, detailed and thorough. She provided pics and stories of her visits. This was a perfect option instead of taking kitty out of her element and placing her in a kennel. And the cost was about the same. Thank you Graham!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
