“Amy did amazing with our dog. We were definitely nervous about leaving him for a long weekend, but she sent a great updates and made us feel like our boy was loved and cared for while we were away. We would use her again!”

“Katharine did an excellent job taking care of my cat via drop-in visits while I was on vacation. Katharine is kind and friendly, very responsible, and experienced with cats, as a cat owner herself. She does a perfect job following directions and communicating, and she was very easy to work with. I highly recommend booking Katharine as your Rover, and I hope to work with her again in the future.”

“Glenn and Diana were the best sitters ever! We have a very hyper, young lab who does not like to be left alone. We have never used a professional pet sitting service before and Glenn and Diana provided us with not only did they provide excellent pet care, but they were extremely flexible with several last minute schedule changes. They also helped us navigate the Rover app to help correct errors on our part as well as giving our dog some short training sessions with sit, down, and stay while they were spending time with her. Glenn and Diana played a lot of fetch with the dog and gave our cat tons of attention too. Great sitters who really put us at ease! We highly recommend them and Rover!”

About: I grew up with two dogs and have hands-on experience caring for and training them. Being around dogs from a young age taught me how important patience, consistency, and understanding are when caring for a pet. I enjoy spending time with animals, whether that means going for walks, playing, practicing basic training, or simply giving them attention and companionship. I’m responsible, patient, and committed to making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I am currently working a half remote job. My work hours are 8am-4pm. I am able to accommodate boarding and I am available for walks after 4pm. I live in a nice apartment complex that is well off the beaten path and has plenty of space to walk and play with animals through out.
“Merissa and Nick are the best pet sitters I have ever had, because they care and go above and beyond!! Besides the very helpful daily updates on my cat’s food, drink, litter box usage and general behavior, they sent me some of the greatest photos and videos of Hodge, many showing them playing with my very social fur baby. When I returned home after a 10-day trip, the house was immaculate and my mail and newspapers were neatly piled up on the kitchen counter. I knew that with Merissa and Nick my cat was getting the best care possible and was very happy, which gave me complete peace of mind to enjoy my vacation.”

“Wonderful with my Colby! Highly recommended. Heather is reliable and was available in a pinch when my sitter was unavailable. She bonded with him quickly and I feel secure with him in her care.”

“This was my first time using Rover and I could not be happier with the experience! My cats were very well cared for by Megan while we were gone for the week. They are usually skittish for a little while when we come home from being away, but this time they came right out as if we were only gone for a few hours! I will definitely utilize her services again when needed.”

“Lindsay was amazing with the care for my dog while I traveled abroad . She kept me updated and sent pictures. This is the first time I left him for longer then 3 days and she made sure he was happy and safe.”

“Stacie was the perfect balance of professional and compassionate! She excitedly accepted the challenge of caring for my big hissy cat, taking time to understand how he communicates. Where other sitters may have been afraid or mad, Stacie was purposeful and determined. During my 3-week absence, I felt confident my boy was given as much love and attention that Stacie could give. She went above and beyond by watering my plants and collecting mail, but also by telling me when some issues occurred and sending tons of pictures. I'd book her again in a second, even if just to give my cat some extra social time. <3”

About: I've been walking dogs since I was 12 years old, of various sizes, behaviors, and energy levels. I also attended an Agricultural High School and learned 1 year of dog training and 2 years of dog grooming in high school. The past job I worked at was a dog daycare for a seasonal job. Then had side jobs where I walked other people's dogs and babysat cats I currently have 1 dog, 2 cats, and 2 reptiles that I care for. One of my cats is an adult, and the other is a kitten. I am a recent college graduate, and my only routine is waking up at 6 am to take my roommate to school at 7 am. Then picking my roommate up from school at 3:15pm. Otherwise, just looking for jobs. I have a fenced-in yard, and the pet would be supervised and never left alone. If they need to be left alone, there is a small room and a crate to protect them from getting into anything when unsupervised. I am the type of person who worries about the animal's health and will always let the owner know if I notice anything abnormal with the pet.

About: I have raised cats; dogs; Guinea pigs; hamsters; rabbits and other small/large animals my whole life growing up; I currently have two dogs two cats two Guinea pigs and a rabbit at my mothers house but cannot visit them as often as I’d like so I’m doing this to fill the need for puppies I’m currently on SSI and working a part time job to support my wife and baby boy Jasper to be able to grow up to have a good life I have a third floor apartment and access to a dog park for easy fun times with the puppy in a safe area and minimal traffic and access to a park and fun areas to go around and hike and walk safely
“This was our first time using a pet sitter we didn’t know and Elizabeth made us feel very comfortable. She was great with the cats, great communication. I would certainly use her again.”

“Jessica was fantastic with my cat! I arrived home after having to travel for work to a healthy and happy cat and an apartment that was just the way I had left it. Jessica provided a clear summary of each visit and was overall a great catsitter! Will book again.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Guilderland Center. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
