“Amy was so amazing. Always on time and very good with our senior dog down to our very energetic golden retriever. Very kind and so communicative. We will definitely be rebooking.”

“Lindsey was an absolute delight. Gave us very clear updates, followed our instructions to a T, and went above and beyond in taking care of Hank while we were out of town. Despite the short notice, she quickly bonded with Hank and was attentive to his needs. She even folded up his blanket into a nice bed and gave him dinner early so we didn’t have to worry about it when we got home. I will definitely ask for her help again soon.”
“Ashleigh was great! She sent pictures and updates, and patiently put up with my unneeded chitchat. :-) I've already scheduled her for out next trip. The Rover app is so easy to use, and very well thought out.”

“Meg is great! You have to meet my dog in just the right way, and Meg was very understanding. She obviously knows a lot about dogs and their temperaments. She’s reliable and patient, exactly what I needed for my pup!”
About: My name is Kylie and I’ve always had such a strong passion for animals. I’m currently in school to be a licensed veterinary technician. While I pursue this, I also work full time in an animal emergency clinic. I have had 2+ years of animal emergency experience, including large dogs and cats, and even reptiles like snakes! I am comfortable pilling animals and have direct access to emergency care 24/7 in case your fur babies need it❤️. I currently own 2 cats of my own and a ball python. I’ve owned large dogs my whole life including a Cane Corso & Giant Schnauzer! I currently work full time in the animal emergency clinic. My schedule is Tuesday 11a-11p - Friday 7a-7p - Saturday 1p-1a and I do pick up shifts here and there. With this being said, I can come by before and/or after my shifts. I am currently not accepting boarding as my current living situation is not feasible for more animals than I currently own. I can care for pets in your home!
“Sara is fantastic! Our cats were so well cared for and we appreciated the updates while we were away. It’s wonderful to have such a reliable and pet-loving sitter to look after them!”

“Heather did an excellent job with my two cats! Daily progress reports and photos, even for the visits I was out of cell service. I will definitely be booking with her again.”

About: I have raised cats; dogs; Guinea pigs; hamsters; rabbits and other small/large animals my whole life growing up; I currently have two dogs two cats two Guinea pigs and a rabbit at my mothers house but cannot visit them as often as I’d like so I’m doing this to fill the need for puppies I’m currently on SSI and working a part time job to support my wife and baby boy Jasper to be able to grow up to have a good life I have a third floor apartment and access to a dog park for easy fun times with the puppy in a safe area and minimal traffic and access to a park and fun areas to go around and hike and walk safely

About: I’ve had my own animals, both cats and dogs (mainly cats) since I was 6 years old. I’ve had to administer insulin before to my diabetic cat that has since passed. My experience with dogs are mainly of the bigger size (I had a pitbull/boxer mix and a pure bred chow chow). I’m currently working as a Direct Support Professional overnights 9pm-9am Thursday through Saturday (technically Sunday 9am). So I’m pretty open for picking up last minute gigs if needed. I would love to have a break down of your pets day to day. Typically when they are most ready to play or eat. When potty breaks need to be done around.
About: I work part time and am pretty flexible with my schedule. My fiancée and I currently have 4 cats but I grew up with dogs. I love dog sitting for friends and family. My previous dog was diabetic so I have given insulin and have with experience with senior dogs. I currently work part time so I have a lot of time to play with your animals! Our cats love to cuddle and to go for walks in their stroller. I use automatic feeders for dry food and give them wet food once a day. I’ve pet sat where animals are free fed or prefer to be fed at a specific time.
“Merissa and Nick are the best pet sitters I have ever had, because they care and go above and beyond!! Besides the very helpful daily updates on my cat’s food, drink, litter box usage and general behavior, they sent me some of the greatest photos and videos of Hodge, many showing them playing with my very social fur baby. When I returned home after a 10-day trip, the house was immaculate and my mail and newspapers were neatly piled up on the kitchen counter. I knew that with Merissa and Nick my cat was getting the best care possible and was very happy, which gave me complete peace of mind to enjoy my vacation.”

“Sydney is the best! She is extremely helpful, professional and attentive to my dog's needs. She is always on time and thorough with her visits. Couldn't ask for a better sitter!”

“This was our first time using a pet sitter we didn’t know and Elizabeth made us feel very comfortable. She was great with the cats, great communication. I would certainly use her again.”

“Jessica was fantastic with my cat! I arrived home after having to travel for work to a healthy and happy cat and an apartment that was just the way I had left it. Jessica provided a clear summary of each visit and was overall a great catsitter! Will book again.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Guilderland Center
We are so grateful for the amazing care Sarah gave to our two cats while we were away. She went above and beyond—leaving detailed notes after every visit, sending us tons of great pictures, and spending time playing and cuddling with them so we knew they were happy and comfortable. She also made sure our cat who needed daily medicine got it without any issue, which gave us such peace of mind. Both of our cats clearly loved having her around, and we’ll definitely be booking with her again in the future!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Guilderland Center. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
