“Susan kept my TJ for 9 days. She was very patient with him as he adjusted to her home and socializing with his now new pals (her dogs). She kept me informed every day along with pictures of him. I was very comfortable leaving him with her. I will definitely use her again.”

“Lola, my son’s dog seemed so happy to be with Amanda…she is terrified of storms but Amanda let her sit in her lap during the worst part…very sweet lady who loves animals…we are leaving Lola again for about 8 days and are confident that she will be happy and well cared for…thanks Amanda❣️”

“Courtney was AMAZING and extremely professional! She was quick with replying and was easy to work with! She sent updates on WallE and answered any questions we had about how he was doing and future care with his training. We look forward to using her again and couldn’t of been happier with choosing her. It was a wonderful experience for our dog and for us knowing he was in good hands!”
“Tenashia was super sweet and cared for my little guy super well! I was nervous to board him the first time but the photos and updates put my mind at ease! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to book.”

“Havilah provided wonderful dog care experience. Our older dog was at ease and comfortable in their home with her dogs, and their communications were great: responsive and informative. It is always nice to have great confidence when you leave your pup behind, and I did.”

“Our 70lb puppy can be a handful! We know. Lol. He is such a sweet dog, but might have a bit of an unhealthy attachment to his family. He definitely developed some big anxiety along the way and we have had difficulty kenneling him anymore. He needs some special attention to help calm him and he needs to know he's loved. We almost had to cancel our trip, but Tabitha agreed at the last minute for a meet and greet since he had never been around cats. She agreed to board him after we saw he was unfazed by the cats. She definitely cared for him very well! He didn't come home traumatized from being separated from us. He is active and moving as if nothing ever happened! He has a mean bark, but if you can get past it, you'll see he is just very protective and can be just so sweet. Tabitha went out of her way to make him feel at home!!! She is definitely a very loving animal person and I wouldn't hesitate to use her again and again!! Thank you Tabitha!”

About: 💗 30+ Years Experience | Pet Lover & Rescue Mom 💗 About Me: Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 30 years of hands-on pet care experience. From seniors to puppies, shy cats to sassy small breeds—I’ve cared for them all with patience, love, and genuine joy. I live with a small crew of rescues who remind me every day why I do this. Meet my furry family: 🐾 Sadie – my 17-year-old gentle senior pup who’s full of wisdom and love 🐾 Harley – a 9-year-old tuxedo cat with a flair for the dramatic and a heart of gold (even if he pretends otherwise) 🐾 Nemo – my 7-year-old Pomchi with a signature pout and a heart that melts for cuddles 🐾 Marley – a 5 lb Chi and the definition of a momma’s boy, always by my side Each of them came to me as a rescue, and their individual personalities have taught me how to tune into an animal’s needs—whether it’s a slow introduction, a cozy nap buddy, or just the right way to scratch behind the ears. I specialize in senior care, shy or anxious pets, and multi-pet households. Whether you’re heading out for a few hours or a full vacation, you can trust your pets are in good hands.

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals for a very long time you can even say my whole life. I’ve raised cats, dogs, birds, chinchillas, even a chameleon from babies to adults. I’ve potty trained many puppies, taught them tricks, and even cared for pregnant mommas with puppies. Cats are more of my specialty though i’ve litter box trained them, taught them to walk on a leash, tamed feral cats/kittens. I also volunteer from time to time at the Acadiana Animal Aid shelter helping care for cats/dogs in need of homes. I’m currently working full-time. I work an 8 hour day normally from 8 am - 5 pm, my hours are flexible though. I also have a 1 hour lunch I can take. I’m completely free most weekends. I have a mostly fenced yard where my dog Huck loves to play, it is a little small but we make do with the space we have. My dog and cats gets fed twice a day morning/evening. If I’m caring for an animal in a clients home I can visit in the mornings/lunch/evenings depending on the care needed.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Grosse Isle home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Grosse Isle.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Grosse Isle sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in LA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
