Audrey was wonderful! We were in a bind last minute and she saved us. Audrey is very responsive, sent pictures of our boy and put my mind at ease. It can be so challenging finding care you trust for your pets but I would absolutely recommend Audrey and would use her again in the future.

Sally did a great job looking after our furry one! We boarded in her home & she let our dog settle-in there and lay on the furniture just as “Cinco” would at home. She sent regular pics & even some videos that helped us feel reassured our pet was very relaxed & comfortable in her home & care. Sally’s 2 small dogs are very easy going & I think that helped Cinco too in having some furry friends with whom to lay & play. Sally was excellent with contacts & responding to any ?’s we had. She really helped us to enjoy our vacation knowing our pet was in such good hands?! ??

Lucie was always sure to send updates and even sent us photos while our dogs were in her care. She has a fenced in yard so my dogs were able to feel right at home when they needed to go outside. Even better yet, our dogs sleep in our bed and Lucie treated them as her own and let two medium/large dogs join them in bed lol. Thank you for letting my dogs feel right at home! Highly recommend!

About: New to Houghton Lake and new to Rover, but have had dogs my entire life as well as caring for my friends’ pals. From pups to seniors, from big to small they have given much joy and made me a better person. My yard is fenced with plenty of shade. I am retired with plenty of time. Great neighborhood for walks. Your dog will be loved and welcomed into our home. Special attention will be given to your dog’s needs and your directions and any special care required. Since I am retired, the day is mine. I have time for walks, fetch, zoomies, cuddles. Time can be spent indoors and outdoors, even car rides if ok with dog parents. I have a 3 yr old Springer who is very friendly and energetic. We spend a mix of out day chilling, playing, walking, and visiting friends in the neighborhood. He has not been crated, though I have no objections to crating. All my Labs were and never had an issue. Potty breaks can very from puppies to adults to seniors.

Randy and his wife were great hosts! They kept in contact with us sending us pictures and letting us know how our dog was! They kept us informed during a scary situation when our dog had an unexpected health incident. He was well taken care of and spoiled with all the cuddles!

I reached out to Megan as a last minute booking for our two pups. She was able to take them and was even flexible when car trouble made us very late. She sent photos and updates of them while she had them which helped me feel better. Bella and Strawberry, both under 25 lbs, made themselves at home with 100+lb doggies. Bella is still young and had lots of fun playing with the big doggies. She’s also escaped from our house a couple times. Megan’s yard is very secure. I highly recommend Megan to take care of your pups!!!

About: My love for dogs started at a young age then at the age of 10 we got out first family dog, Rufus, after that I was really hooked. Then I got my own dog Dixie when I turned 19 then I got Summit. If you ask anyone they are some of the most spoiled dogs you will find and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am currently a stay at home mom so I will have plenty of time to care for your pup(s). They will get walks everyday and playtime outside I have a decent sized fenced in yard that your pup will get to play in, and weather depending a daily walk. They will also have their own space to go into when they need to relax and sleep.

Audrey was extremely welcoming to my dog, Koda. Koda can be a lot to take on, especially with having severe separation anxiety, but Audrey was very confident in herself and her ability to take care of my dog. I think Audrey did the best she could. Koda does not like to be in a crate and will do anything to break out, so it was not a surprise to find she had a few scratches on her snoot. Although I wasn’t surprised, I was a little disappointed to know she was in her crate long enough to be so desperate to get out. After we left, Koda drank two entire bowls of water. I’m a little nervous that she didn’t receive enough water while being cared for, but she may have also had a lot of playtime shortly before we picked her up. I’ll never know for sure. Like I said, Koda is A LOT. She’s a great dog and we love her so much, but she doesn’t do the best around new people. I’m very happy with Audrey’s communication and transparency (Koda had an accident in the house…) . She was a great solution as a pet sitter for a couple visiting from out of town, I just don’t know that she was the best fit for Koda.

Jenna kept us informed of Penny’s daily activities. She made sure Penny was comfortable with the other boarding dog. And most of all, she provided care for Penny’s needs due to old age and surgery post-op care.

Sitters may also include daily walks in the neighborhood during your dog's boarding stay. You can also request photo and message updates throughout so you can see which local landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Grayling home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
