About: Hi, I’m Ashley Hertlen — a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience in pet care and dog training. My journey started early, volunteering at the Humane Society during my teenage years. Those two summers opened the door to working at Riverside Animal Hospital, where I deepened my understanding of animal health and behavior. From there, I began training my own dogs for shows and competitions, proudly bringing home People’s Choice trophies and earning multiple training certificates. Over the years, I’ve also worked at a boarding facility, caring for pets of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. Today, I’m a professional dog trainer at PetSmart, where I help pet parents build stronger bonds with their dogs through positive reinforcement and customized training plans. Why Work With Me? • Years of Experience in veterinary support, boarding, and professional training • Award-Winning Dog Trainer with show experience and certifications • Passion-Driven Care for every animal I work with, like they’re my own Whether you’re looking for help with obedience training, behavior challenges, or general pet care tips — I’m here to help you and your pet thrive together. I am available at all your pet care needs. I am medically trained to care for your pet, as well as along with grooming available. My dog Gus LOVES spending time at Nathan’s! I left him there for Thanksgiving week and got photo updates throughout the week. Gus is a very nervous dog and doesn’t always like everyone, but he loves Nathan! I brought Gus back for doggy daycare and he was so excited to be back. He ran right inside! Leaving Gus with Nathan could not have gone any better. I highly recommend!

Arnelia has been fantastic with my German Shepherd on both visits! She’s been so accommodating with last-minute requests and went above and beyond both times. During our recent stay, she even took the time to brush out my dog’s undercoat - which was much needed during this heavy shedding season. My dog looks so much better and lighter now! She clearly cares about the dogs she watches and provides excellent service. Highly recommend!

About: I provide gentle, personalized care for puppies of all needs and disabilities, ensuring comfort, administering medications, and creating a safe, stress-free environment for every dog. Currently working as a part time pet sitter and college student, I have lots of free time to care for animals, no matter their needs. I give all animals a warm welcoming with lots of pets and love, unless of course they need some time to warm up to me. In my home, animals are allowed on all furniture and have plenty of stimulating toys, potty breaks/litterboxes, and are always given yummy treats if allowed by their owners.

About: I’ve worked at the rescue in my hometown for a few years now, I’ve worked in 2 different grooming salons, and have also been involved with some vets. Working at a rescue and a grooming salon gives you so much experience to learn more about each breed and each dog. You get to learn everything about each sweetheart so we’ll over time that you also start to love them like they’re you’re own. I had to deal with almost every experience when it comes to pets as well. I love dogs so very much they have such a soft place in my heart and it’s always great to get to learn about their owners as well when they’re steady customers! Boarding and grooming is something I do full time on my own, I’m home all the time unless I need to run and errand or two. Your pets will get lots and lots of attention their whole stay! We live where there is a fenced in property, 2 large dogs who are very pet friendly. We take up lots of time with pets staying with us to make them feel as comfortable as possible and just because we absolutely love all fur babies!

Amazing pet care and friendly person. My baby Penny loves Bri! She’s wagging her tail every time she’s dropped off and picked up. Bri always keeps me in the know and sends pictures throughout the day, even when I forgot to ask for updates. And Bri’s dog, Bear, so sweet! He is such a good companion and helped get Penny out of her shell.

About: Your pet is going to have fun! I enjoy running, jumping, lots of exercise, pouncing, and practicing good behavior for treats! I care for both dogs & cats that I sit and board. Or if you have a goat, I can work with that too! 😊☺️ Thankfully, I was born with an energetic and bubbly personality to match the needs of my furry friends! I also train dogs and coach good behavior, my dog knows 7 tricks (ask me how!) and she is a good friend and example for dogs that come to visit. I love all animals, and take their love and care and compassion very seriously since I was a little girl. Even till this day- one of my hobbies is rescuing animals in need and taking care of them. When it comes to my personal decisions, I am vegan for the animals, and I consider them to be family, we are definitely in charge of taking care of them as human beings as they are very intelligent sentient beings that need the same love and attention as a friend would. I'm doing this because it's a passion of mine. I am 100% reliable, honest, and trustworthy, your satisfaction is guaranteed. I currently work from home- so plenty my of time for fur babies! I spent most of my day outside- your pet will love walking and catching a cool breeze. I cultivate a relaxing and playful environment that allows for the best possible outcome for safety and security- my home is quiet and safe and protected.

About: I’m an animal lover, have always been & will always be. Since I was a small girl 😊 I’ve had the great pleasure & blessing of owning 6 cats and 9 dogs in my lifetime. My animals are my babies, furry babies are the best! I’m also trained in the Volhard motivational method of dog training, studied holistic animal care, as well as I’ve done therapy dog work (was certified trainer). I currently work part time and have a flexible schedule so I could spend the time needed giving your babies the care they deserve. I spend my mornings normally in the yard, tending the garden, plants and chickens as needed and getting exercise. I have a lot of land for exercising and spending fun time with your baby. My 2 pups are boundary trained and very well mannered. They are also crate trained, so I can offer your pups whatever they need:

About: My name is Liz and I live with my husband Amro. I grew up with dogs and have had dogs since I was 7 years old. Now, we have 2 fluffies, Abu (a 2 years old male Pomeranian) and Polly (a 3 years old female Cavapoo). They both are under 15lbs. I work from home, so the dogs will spend their day around me. We have a fully fenced backyard so we go out with the dogs constantly. Dogs are allowed everywhere in our home. They sleep with us in the bedroom and really get first class treatment lol. We will take care of your dog just like they are our own! If you have any special requests, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate the needs of your baby. I work from home fully and have flexibility which is really great bc I love getting to play in our backyard with the pups and have some company while Amro is away! Pups go out as often as needed but at least 4 times a day. We play and interact with them constantly throughout the day depending on their energy level!

About: I have cared for dogs and cats my entire life in my household. One of my dogs had diabetes so I do know how to administer insulin. I have also petsitted for my neighbor and friends a number of times. I am currently in college but classes are online so I am pretty much free any time or any day so you could say I am pretty flexible. I have a very big fenced in backyard, along with 2 dogs one is a little shy towards others but my other dog would love company. There is a dog park about a mile away from my house as well. I also have 2 cats but they both stay to themselves.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Gray commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in GA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 87 sitters in Gray, 93% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
