Lacy was absolutely fantastic! My husband and I went on an 11 day trip to Europe and I was incredibly anxious leaving our fur baby, Leroy, due to his considerable health issues and his age. Lacy took excellent care of Leroy, keeping up with his medication and providing multiple updates which helped ease my mind tremendously! We came home to a very clean house and a happy, healthy boy. We can’t thank Lacy enough and would highly recommend her!

She asked questions pertaining to dogs to be able to care for them better. She was good with communication. Went above and beyond what was asked of her.

Everything went great while we were away, and happy and healthy when we returned! Krista came over in advance to meet the pets and learn the routines - we left detailed notes but it helps to be able to talk and answer questions in person. She sent daily pics and came to do extra checks a couple of times. Our trip plans came together quickly and depended on finding a reliable sitter during spring break week, so also really appreciated that she stepped in to help us out. Would love to book her again.

About: I have extensive experience caring for both dogs and cats through personal, volunteer, and pet sitting experience. I currently have a 10-month-old puppy that I’ve raised and trained since puppyhood, giving me hands-on experience with young dogs, routines, and daily care. Throughout high school and college, I regularly volunteered at local animal shelters, helping care for animals of all sizes and temperaments. I also walked dogs during college and frequently pet sit for friends and family, including feeding, walking, playtime, and overnight care. I’m very comfortable around animals and genuinely enjoy making sure pets feel safe, cared for, and loved while their owners are away. I have a flexible schedule around my part-time job and love making time to care for pets! I’m usually available in the mornings and afternoons before 3 for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. I’m very dependable, easy to communicate with, and always happy to work with pet owners to find a schedule that works best for everyone. I understand how important it is to trust someone with both your pets and your home, and I always treat each home with the same respect and care I would expect for my own. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities, and I make sure to follow all instructions carefully to keep them happy and secure. I’m dependable, attentive, and committed to creating a calm, safe environment while you’re away, while also keeping your home clean, respected, and well cared for.

About: I have had my own cat since I was 4 years old and I grew up caring and watching over her and she is still by my side to this day. Throughout the years I have taken care of other animals within my family and my friends. I have more knowledge and experience with cats but I would love to watch over dogs more often. I have a job at Starbucks and my schedule fluctuates but I get my schedule three weeks prior and I am willing to work with anyone to be sure I can give their animals the care they need. Currently, I am treating my cat of her hyperthyroidism and early signs of kidney disease. I give her her medicine on a set schedule, a full dosage in the morning and a half-dosage at night. And even if work overlaps with that time I am sure to be flexible so I can get to her in time for her medication.

Taylor did a great job of house sitting my two dogs, one cat, and snake, and also filling my outside bird feeders. She communicated with me three times a day, sending photos each time. And I think it's a testament to her abilities that my cat, who hides from everybody but me, felt confident enough to come out and be petted by around day 3. I would definitely hire her again.

About: Welcome to my Rover! I’m 26 years old and a lifelong animal lover. Growing up, I had the most amazing boxer rescue named Duke, and through my teenage years and young adulthood another rescue Munson, who was a black lab/pit bull mix. Currently mom to two fur babies Dexter and Koda, a black cat and a tuxedo cat. Aside from my primary occupation, I’m a very active person and love being outside. I’m a lifelong animal shelter volunteer and have worked with animals from newborn to elderly, perfect health to less than, anxiety, etc. I understand the obligations of everyday pet parents and am more than happy to meet and provide top tier care and support for your fur babies! I am currently working out a full-time schedule as I work remotely and am offering short-term care for the time being. All drop-ins, walks, and sittings will be accepted case by case. Will update when I move to a more regular schedule! The trust required to invite a sitter into your home and around your fur babies is paramount, and as a professional, your home becomes my office and will be treated with the utmost respect. I tend to leave a home cleaner than I found it, and follow instructions to a T, so please do not hesitate to let me know how I can best care for your fur babies and your home while I'm in service!

About: Dogs have always been a part of my life. Growing up with a dog by my side taught me how to understand, care for, and connect with them in a way that feels completely natural. Being around dogs isn't just something I do—it's something I've known my whole life. I genuinely enjoy spending time with them, learning their unique personalities, and making sure they feel loved, safe, and happy while you're away. Every dog deserves care that feels like home, and that's exactly what I strive to provide. I currently work Monday-Friday (8am-5pm). I can take care of pets after 5pm and on the weekends. We can arrange timing if needed. Thank you! I have a very spacious loft downtown I can have them in. Also have space for kennels if needed. Lots of parks near by and sidewalks to walk them. I’m also willing to take care of them at the clients residents as well. Whatever is needed for the job at hand!

About: Hi, I’m Angie! I’ve been a dog lover and “dog mom” my entire life, and caring for animals has always been a big part of our family. My daughter is in her third year at LSU Veterinary School, and my son is a senior at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. When he’s home, he loves being my sidekick for walks, outings and dog activities. Dogs really are a family affair around here!
I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, sizes and personalities, from energetic dogs and multi-dog households to seniors, rescues and dogs with special needs. I’m comfortable with medications, detailed routines and adapting care to what each dog needs. I’ve also been on the client side of Rover, so I know how important it is to find someone you genuinely trust with your dog. I’ll keep you in the loop while you’re away, so you can relax knowing your dog is in good hands. I love getting to know each dog’s personality and what they enjoy. Whether that’s walks, backyard play, enrichment, a new place to sniff and explore, or just hanging out together, I want their time with me to feel less like being “left with a sitter” and more like spending time with someone they know. I have a flexible schedule and offer walks, drop-ins, daycare, boarding and house-sitting. I keep my schedule intentionally manageable so I can give the dogs in my care plenty of individual attention and flexibility. For Daycare and Boarding, I keep things small and personal rather than caring for a large group of dogs at once. Dogs are part of my day and get plenty of attention, playtime and outdoor time. For dogs who enjoy getting out, I’m also happy to mix things up with walks, enrichment, new sniffing spots or an occasional “field trip”. When I’m caring for pets in their own home, I follow the important parts of their routine while tailoring our time together to their personality and what they enjoy. I’m attentive to behavior, safety and the little details owners tell me about their pets.

About: Ever since I can remember, I have always been around and loved animals. My mom and dad were very influential in teaching me to love and care for them and how to read their body language. I have no problem caring for dogs in any age range, I can walk and house sit. I am currently working part time as a Realtor so I have plenty of time to watch and walk your pups! I can board on the weekends or weekdays if needed. I have a full privacy fenced around my backyard with two of my own fur babies who are neutered and friendly. But I can crate your pups to keep them safe and separate mine to make yours a priority for the time being.

FAQs for House Sitting - Gravel Ridge

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Gravel Ridge on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 325 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Gravel Ridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gravel Ridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gravel Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gravel Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gravel Ridge. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
